Food is delicious, Salmon was really good, the risotto was rich and creamy. Everything came out super hot. The salmon was cooked perfectly. Big and delicious. My friend had the short rib and she liked it a lot, the tropical siesta was delicious drink. Complimentary peanut butter cookies at the end, I think they are just food service cookies heated up but still good! Bathroom kind of dirty. And the ambiance in the front room with the bar is cuter than the rest of the place. Rest of the place is more low lit and lacking decoration. We paid about 55 a person including tip for a meal and a drink. We are not from Delaware and it was cool there was no tax (though I think they add it to the prices ahead of time).

We came here for our anniversary lunch and had a great time. We ate in the dining room. The food and service are wonderful. it is a cheerful place and the music was 40s & 50s jazz which we loved. This made our celebration very special. Great starters and appetizers, salads and entree choices. We will be back.

This is Delaware's top fine dining establishment. Whenever I bring friends back home I take them out to dinner here. The baked brie is always a great way to start off a meal. Brie baked into slices of bread. Like a fancy little pizza. You can dip in either a sweet berry sauce or a savory tomato based sauce. I like to alternate between the two. The must have entree is the beef short rib. There is nothing quite as tender as the short rib here. You could cut it with a spoon. Desserts here are all very good. My favorite is the sea salt caramel budino. So many rich and creamy layers of goodness resting on top of a base of Oreo crumble. Great servers. Great food. Great atmosphere. Do yourselves a favor and stop in for a meal.

We had a family dinner here recently for my birthday and had a wonderful time. The service was great despite our group of 5 adults and 2 toddlers, one of whom was a bit on the cranky side. Turned out he was just hungry and once he started grubbing, he was fine. Anyway, 3 of us had the short ribs and 2 had the salmon. The short ribs were very good, but the tamarind sauce was a bit on the tangy side for me. That didn't stop me from eating it though. I also enjoyed a really tasty salad with candied pecans and gorgonzola (it comes with goat cheese but I seriously don't know how anyone eats that nasty stuff so I subbed gorgonzola). We ended the meal with some yummy desserts. I think mine was called a bubino or something like that. It was very good - layers of whipped cream, caramel, custard, cookie crust - and very sweet. Overall it was a great meal and I'm glad my daughter and her bf brought us there. Would certainly enjoy going again!

I've been here a few times for the happy hour and sat at the bar. I enjoyed having cocktails and apps and wanted to come back for dinner. My husband and I came for a date night, and sat in the dining room area (see pic). The music was a little loud, and couldn't hear sometimes. We sat for about 15 min before the server came over, after I said something. He was clearing plates and taking other tables orders as we sat there. He was apologetic but still, come on, it wasn't even that crowded. We ordered drinks, cheese plate, and dinners. It took a while for the drinks to come out but the specialty drink I ordered was a nice twist (chocolate covered pretzel martini). The cheese plate was mediocre, and we love a good cheese plate.... So yeah, could have more flavor or anything to spruce it up. I got the Niçoise salad with tuna, egg, tomato, asparagus and a mustard vinaigrette. Again mediocre to eh. The tuna was over cooked, dry and not that good. My husband got the ravioli and thought it was good but nothing special. Overall I wanted it to be more and came out middle of the road.

This is my second time there! Good food, quick service. Just a bit expensive for the type of food. I would still recommend it.

As far as outside seating and indoor seating everything is spaced out nicely. The bar area is not spaced out at all and is not following safety procedures!

Many restaurants place great emphasis and effort on the grand opening to garner good reviews and then drop their quality of service and food over time. This wasn't the case at First Watch. My wife and I visited First Watch a year ago on the day after Thanksgiving and were delighted by the quality of food and service, specifically the thoughtfulness and attention to detail from the staff so much so that we had to return one year later. Upon arrival, we were greeted by our hostess who lead us to our table where our family was already seated. Our server promptly arrived to offer beverages, take our orders, and answer questions. As we waited, the manager greeted us at our table and asked if there was anything we needed while our orders were being prepared. The restaurant was well lit with natural lighting and spacious as we remembered it a year ago. The menus were clear and offered a good selection of entrees, sides and daily specials. I ordered the Farmhouse Hasher with eggs over easy. My wife ordered one of the specials -- the double crunch breakfast tacos. Both were brought to us promptly. My wife loved the tacos and said she hadn't had such great tacos like that in quite a while. The farmhouse hasher was as I remembered it - the potatoes were cooked and seasoned perfectly; the bacon nice and crispy; and eggs over easy delicious. This will be our annual day-after-Thanksgiving morning tradition from now on!

I don't think that they ever really recovered from the pandemic. They used to be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week and Sunday for brunch and you would always have a rough time trying to decide what to have. Not so these days. Will you get an ok meal here? Yes. Will you get a great meal here? Some parts of it. Take for example my recent meal over the July 4 weekend. We were enticed by a perc they offered via their email and drove the 45 mins or so to get there. The crab bisque was a good and crabby as ever. This appears not to have changed. One of us order the foie gras appetizer. The foie gras was cooked perfectly and was topped with a sweet jam and some bacon lardons. Under was an oily brioche crouton and it definitely needed some acid to get some relief from the fattiness. The served plate was not appealing in presentation with its monochromatic brown. The star of the appetizers was the lobster arancini which were lovely but the sauce served with it didn't add to them. The mahi-mahi and squid puttanesca suffered from overcooked seafood (the mahi-mahi more so). The duck breast entree was more medium than medium rare and was overly salty as was the sauce and risotto that came with it. The haricots verts were nicely crisp but covered with a tasteless sauce. Again this plate was not appealing in presentation. The scallop entree with mango had perfectly seared scallops but the broccolini purée had an odd texture and too much garlic (or something else from the allium family). Desserts were good. However I ordered the peach cobbler and was warned when it came to the table that it was just out of the oven and I should wait so as not to burn my mouth. It came with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. It had not melted a bit. In fact, the cobbler was cold. Service was by two waitstaff who did not communicate so requests went unfulfilled or were late. I asked for a decaf cappuccino. She said she could not make that but I could have a decaf espresso. I found that odd that steamed milk was not available. So right now, KK's has limited hours, limited menu, and limited talent/experience in the kitchen. I hope it is able to find its way back.

It's more of a cup portion than the price might suggest but quite rich and delicious. We each had a salad. The pork belly crisps in the arugula salad made it a bit more filling, so consider that in ordering. I had the butter poached halibut from the regular menu. It sits upon the thin spanakopita with the sun-dried tapenade on top. The latter was intensely flavored with tomato. A beautiful presentation, but the pairing of the pungent sides with the delicate fish didn't work. My friend had the jerk seasoned hake from the special. Accompanied by a pea risotto and plantains, it was outstanding! Generous pour if you order wine by the glass and for sparkling water, they bring you an entire beautiful blue bottle of Saratoga water. Espresso is odd. Just in a regular coffee cup? With a wedge of lemon? Maybe they just make it for the ubiquitous espresso martinis. Elegant old style decor

First, the food was excellent, as it always is at this location. That's honestly something we've come to expect whenever we dine here. What really stood out this visit was the staff, especially our server, Jonathan B. We didn't have reservations, and we didn't make a big announcement about celebrating a birthday. Somehow Jonathan picked up on it and went out of his way to make my daughter feel special. Nothing felt forced or scripted. He was attentive, funny, personable, and seemed genuinely invested in making sure we had a great evening. Turning 21 is one of those milestone birthdays, and Jonathan helped make it memorable. The entire staff was warm and welcoming, and you could tell everyone genuinely cared about the guest experience. I also believe great staff are a reflection of great leadership, so credit is due there as well. Teams don't provide this kind of service by accident. It's clear there's a strong commitment to hospitality at this location, and it shows. Thank you to Jonathan and the entire team for helping make my daughter's birthday such a special one.
