Took a motorcycle ride from Fort Worth to Pilot Point and had already picked out our breakfast spot based on the great yelp reviews. Honestly, we were very surprised when we arrived at 10 AM on a Saturday that there wasn't a line out the door. We got lucky and got the last table. Our waitress was Isabella and she was awesome. She was quick to get our drinks, attentive and never overdid it. The coffee was hot. We made our order and had our food out in less than 15 minutes, which was impressive. I ordered the meat lovers skillet. It was better than it looked. Fresh cooked and tasted delicious. The star of the show was at homemade buttermilk biscuit that was amazing. The Corner Cafe is a delightful restaurant that serves home cooked hand made delicious food. The staff were pleasant and complimented ALL items on the menu, so we took a while to decide what we wanted...in the end the atmosphere was warm and the place was clean and friendly. We happened to stop in here while we're were traveling from Sherman. We ran into an old neighbor who was working there. Shirley is the sweetest woman you'll ever meet. We enjoyed our meal and the small town feel of the restaurant. I wouldn't order the fried green tomatoes again but everything else was great. They have huge portions as well. We were staying at Lake Ray Roberts in Motorhome & didn't want to cook. Looked for a small town Mama/Papa country cafe, this was definitely it! As the pictures show the quality of the food was wonderful. Everything tasted great & served hot. Wife said her sweet potato fries were outstanding. They also have REAL Texas sweet tea. I always go for sweet tea went I visit TX. Prices were reasonable for amount received. Building was clean. Seating was spacious. Our server "Shirley D" was friendly, knowledgeable of the products available, & a good source on local information. All of the staff looked happy to be there. We've been meaning to take a drive up to Pilot Point to try "Mom's" other place for quite some time. Finally made it up there yesterday to visit the cozy Corner Cafe and were NOT disappointed. After a warm greeting when we entered, we picked our spot and were greeted by Shirley - who was a bundle of joy. Sweet lady. She got our coffee quickly and took our orders after answering a couple of questions. The order arrived quickly and we were impressed with what we saw. My Meat Lovers omelette was spot-on and the hash browns were cooked perfectly with onions, green peppers, and mushrooms as-requested. Rye toast helped keep things under control. My wife's "Red White and Blue French Toast" was a work of art and featured thick french toast filled with strawberry cream cheese, berries, and whipped cream. She was sold at "cream cheese" and it did not disappoint her. In fact, she finished the whole thing - which is quite unusual for her. We give "Mom's" Corner Cafe a STRONG recommendation for a great breakfast and will be back to sample other things on the menu. read more

Stopped by for lunch after strawberry picking at Pecan Creek Strawberry Farm (just a 5 minute drive away). Parking lot was full when we pulled in, always a good sign. Decided to try this place before heading to Sharkarosa and Texas Tulips on a Saturday morning around 10:30/11am. Wasn't crowded but seemed decently busy. Staff was friendly. It all tasted fine but nothing to write home about. Husband had a breakfast burger, it was just a burger with a fried egg in it, it came with no side, so not a meal. I had the red, white, & blue French toast but added a side of 2 eggs and bacon bc again it wasn't a full meal. 4yo had the kids pb&j w/ fruit (it was half a sandwich) and I shared my plate with our 1yo. Our bill w/ tip was almost $70! It wasn't worth it. Won't be going back if we find ourselves that way again. Just too expensive for what you really don't get. read more
