The food was very good! We ordered CROW'S FAMOUS CHICKEN N' WAFFLES - this tasted a lot better than it looked! Overall really great flavor! The gravy was savory with a little bit of sweet. We did like that they had several smaller waffles vs a large waffle. The chicken was cooked perfectly and had a little bit of spice for added flavor. BILTMORE BASIC - overall, this was great! The potatoes were perfectly cooked and seasoned well. Bacon was perfectly cooked. Biscuit was delicious as well. Overall, highly recommend this place for brunch! This place has some of the freshest tasting food I've ever had. We tried multiple vegetarian dishes, fruit and a burger. There was something for everyone. Normally the vegetarian in our group is stuck with ordering a salad but not here. There's a ton of option on the menu. She raved at how delicious each dish was. I normally don't delve into that world but I tried some of the food because she was so high on it. The bruschetta was really good. It had interesting flavors with none of them overpowering the others. Even the balsamic had a very light taste that fell into line with the other ingredients. I loved the burger. It was a good portion size with enough seasoning to complement it while letting the meat still be the star. I also have to mention the fruit. I don't know how they did it but everything tasted like it was in season even though it's the middle of winter. It had blackberries, strawberries, and apples. Located near the Biltmore Estate this is a top pick for the area. This section of town has similar styled buildings in the manner of the Biltmore House. It makes the village area have a certain period feel to it. Parking can be tough but that's typical for all area stores. Get those walking shoes on! read more

This is the sister restaurant to the Chestnut and after loving the Chestnut so much, we decided it was a safe bet to come here....and I'm happy to report it was a great meal! Our waiter was kind and gave great recommendations - hubby got the halibut and I got the coulotte steak. The halibut was fabulous, definitely a 5/5. Our waiter was smart and kind enough to temper my expectations of the steak (not going to be as tender and a little more chewy), otherwise this review might be slightly different. However, I do think the price was high for the steak for what it was. Again, everything needed a touch of salt, but I'd much rather had salt than a dish be too salty. For dessert, we got the pumpkin cake - HIGHLY recommend this and get it a la mode! It's more like a spice cake than pumpkin, but it's flavorful, moist, and well with the try. Located in an old home the decor is warm and inviting You MUST get the crab and corn chowder, ridiculously good, especially with the local hot sauce. I also had the deviled eggs and I was initially disappointed that they didn't come with the candied bacon on top, but the server rushed over with a little tin cup filled with these beauties apologizing that they forgot to add them to the eggs. After living here for years, I finally got around to having a meal at the much touted Corner Kitchen. Frankly, I always thought it was more for tourists and assumed it wasn't very good. Thankfully, I was wrong. We had an early lunch here on a Monday afternoon and avoided the wait by getting an 11 AM reservations. We were seated immediately in a cozy little cottage, over by the bar. The service was very friendly, from the host who greeted us to our server. I had the Pork Belly Banh Mi and my husband had the frittata special. They day's frittata was salmon with cream cheese. Both our meals were delicious. While not at all an authentic Banh Mi, it was certainly inspired. The bread had a nice light crust, not the kind that will tear up your mouth. A smear of pate aioli gave just a hint of the unctuous pate that I love in my Banh Mi. The pickled carrot and daikon were on point and plentiful. The pork belly was seared perfectly and seasoned just right, caramelized, sweet and salty. I thought it might be too much, but with a side of their bacon pea salad, it was just right. Not too heavy. My only wish is that it had more fragrant cilantro (it was muted, maybe just that batch) and some heat, like from jalapenos on a traditional banh mi. My husband's frittata didn't look impressive, but tasted delicious. In case you haven't tried it - the combination of smoke salmon, cream cheese and eggs is always a winner. When we see that combination on the menu, we have to order it. Great food, lovely ambiance, quaint part of town. read more

I had a bloody Maria with house-made mix, followed by the grilled chicken salad. You know how you like chicken salad, in theory, when it's not gooped up with too much nasty mayonnaise? Chicken salad at Corner Kitchen does not suffer this indignation because it's made with an entirely reasonable amount of house-made vinaigrette. Vegetables and other ingredients were fresh; chicken salad was first rate. I might be back tomorrow. read more

The two mains we tried, the strip and the chicken were both ok, just needlessly, distractingly, overly fussy. Based on the menu, pretty much every main course was similarly complex. In the positive side, the many ingredients that went into all the various elements on the chicken went pretty harmoniously together. With so much going on, it just made the dish less pleasant to eat. Felt like a chef trying to show off. We shared the fried calamari and friend waffle chicken sandwich with fries. It was all very tasty, but a lot of fried food...we will plan better next time! Nice wine selection. Friendly staff. Man oh man! This place is worth the hype! Learn from my mistake and call ahead or book on resy for a reservation. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a bar seat since the rest of the restaurant seating was for people who called ahead. It was Sunday brunch and the restaurant had a constant flow of people. I took this as a good sign and it was! This was some of the best French toast I have had in a long time. This was because their French toast is so unique. They call it boozy French toast, because it has Grand Marnier liqueur in the batter! Not to mention, they use my favorite bread for French toast: Challah Bread! They top it with home made whipped cream, fresh fruit, and pecans! It's served with a side of bacon and bourbon sorghum syrup. If you love French toast as much as me, you need to order this! It's pairs nicely with the coffee they have too! It also is conveniently located to the Biltmore Estate, so if you have plans to visit there, then it's a win win. read more
