First time here - love the fish!…read more We were staying in the area for a few days with family and we wanted to go out for a Friday Night Fish Fry. Our cousin knew of the Blue Goose and assumed they had fish. He was right. As we walked in (around 4:30 pm on the 4th of July), it was loud. This was due to a large group standing about, about to leave. Once they were gone and we were seated at a low 4-top table in a corner by the arcade games, the noise level was great. A server was by within a few minutes of us sitting down. We' looked over the menu already, so we placed our drink and dinner order with her. She was very pleasant. We ordered: - Fried Cod with Fries and Coleslaw - Fried Walleye with Fries and Coleslaw - Fried Catfish Tacos with Potato Pancakes and Apple Sauce - We had beers too: Summer Shandy x 2 and Spotted Cow The beer was cold and refreshing. The food came maybe 10 minutes later. I had the 2-pc Fried Walleye and it was fabulous! Two large filets, lightly breaded and fried to perfection. And so tasty. Our cousin had the Cod and enjoyed it as well. My wife had the Fried Walleye Tacos and enjoyed them too. As this was her first time here, she didn't know the tacos would come completely dressed with the coleslaw on the tacos already or she would have ordered the coleslaw on the side. Her potato pancakes were very good. And while the rustic, hand-cut fries were good, I liked the potato pancakes more and will get them next time. My wife and I each took half our meals home and will enjoy them for lunch tomorrow. We had a few questions about the area and asked random staff who passed by and they always knew the answers. Can't say enough for how friendly the team here was today. We can recommend the Blue Goose for drinks and food - especially the Fried Walleye! I hope we make it back here on our next visit to the area.

I've lived near Richmond for a long time and have been ordering pizza here for over two decades…read more This location has seen transitions, and I remember well what stood here before: La Gustosa--an institution in every sense of the word. Let me be direct. The pizza at Rosati's is no worse than Domino's. That's not meant as a compliment--it's meant as a baseline. It's consistent, predictable, and serviceable if you need something quick. But it's not in the same league as what this space once represented. Not close. In a strange way, part of me is grateful La Gustosa is gone and Rosati's took its place--because if La Gustosa were still here, I'd probably be 20 pounds heavier. That place had gravity. Rosati's doesn't. I've ordered here more than half a dozen times hoping for a different outcome. Each time, the result has been the same: acceptable, forgettable, and entirely lacking in the kind of care, flavor, or identity that makes you want to come back. And that's really the point of this review. Richmond is wide open. There is a genuine, almost glaring opportunity here for someone with vision and execution to step in and build something exceptional. Not just better pizza--but a real Italian kitchen. Or a serious Szechuan or Chinese concept. Or sushi done with precision. Or a proper steakhouse. Or Latin, Greek, or barbecue executed with intent. The demand is here. The competition, frankly, is not. Rosati's isn't offensive. It's just... a placeholder. And in a market like this, placeholders don't last forever. To the right entrepreneur: this town is waiting

I usually only eat half of my burger and bring the other half home for lunch the next day. I got charged $.50 for my mayo on the side would I have been charged for it had they put it on my burger for me? Hubby and I were the only two people in the dining room and they couldn't get the order correct. hence the reason for 3 stars. plus I had tap water and they tried charging me $2.50 they took it off the bill.

Papa Saverio's in Richmond is part of a broader chain, and you can feel it the moment you walk…read morein--standardized menu, predictable execution, and very little that feels locally grounded. I've given this place more than a few chances over time, and I'll be direct: I've never walked away from a meal here feeling better than when I walked in. That's not about portion size--it's about how the food actually sits with you afterward. The barbecue ribs, in particular, have been a recurring disappointment. They look the part, but tend to land heavy and leave you dealing with it long after the meal is over. The fries are another item I'd skip--greasy in a way that doesn't add flavor, just weight. As for the pizza, the sauce is the weak point. It leans overly acidic and lacks balance, which ends up dominating the entire bite rather than complementing the crust and cheese. To be fair, Papa Saverio's delivers consistency. If you've had it elsewhere, you'll know exactly what you're getting here. But that consistency is also the ceiling. Richmond--and the corridor up toward Lake Geneva--has the bones to support something far better. Until that shows up, Papa Saverio's will likely continue to fill the gap.
