I love me a tight griddle set-up! Want want want this in my house!!! Corner Lunch!!

Classic, once again Worcester showing how to do the simple things right. Let's start where many others already have, with the pancakes and French toast. Many many thumbs up! The eggs, on point. The OJ: delightful. The coffee, well let's just say that Jack Reacher would be proud. These good folks know how to do a fried egg over medium. It's got the archetypal diner architecture. It's got hung-over students from Holy Cross, WP, and Clark University all working their early Sunday hangover mojo. And, it's got sass: I was about a quart low to my son's dismay, "Dad how could you have lived in Boston all those years and not be ready for a little backtalk?" Jeez how right he is! Be assured that I will be ready next time, and that the next time will be soon.

This diner is exactly as I expected it to be. The seats were glittery gold and some were embellished with gold duct tape to hold together their seams. There's no shame in that, it gives it charm. Walking in, one shouldn't expect some over gusto greeting, it's a diner, seat yourself anywhere or at the counter and get someone's attention to order when you're ready. Food selections aren't over complicated, tho if you're a vegan or vegetarian I think you'd be hard pressed for breakfast because everything is cooked on the same cooking space. I ordered the #2 two eggs, sausage/ bacon and toast, with a side of spicy hashbrowns. The eggs were exceptionally delicious as I could taste the hint of meats on them. Sausage and bacon cooked just how I ordered and wanted. Plus the hot chocolate had enough whipped cream to satisfy anyone that loves the stuff. Food came out in a very fast manner as I sat at the counter and watched him cook it myself.

Driving around on a Sunday morning looking for a breakfast place. Every other place we passed was packed with a line waiting to get in. Came across Corner Lunch and decided to give it a try. It is a typical looking diner...l) a little outdated (and I wouldn't have it any other way). Specials board was just inside the door, filled with some great options. The also had a pretty well rounded regular menu. Our server was awesone...very pleasant with just a little "diner waitress" attitude. They were busy but never had a line out the door...not sure why, maybe the location which is a little off of the beaten path. All of the food we ordered was amazing. Between the three of us we had eggs, home fries, bacon, sausage, ham steak, french toast and waffles. Everything was spot on. We will definitely be back!

I kinda hate diners so finding one that I don't hate is a pretty big deal. This is probably really a 3.5 but I didn't have any negatives outright. The food was decent, good service, friendly locals, reasonably priced. Our portions weren't huge but that's probably a good thing because I don't feel like shit afterwards of binge eating. We'll probably try other spots before returning but this won't be knocked off of our list. Definitely give it a shot if you are looking for a classic spot.

Busy joint, tight seating, and energetic servers who keep attentive. -- Patty Melt: So much to like about this, from the marble rye (though I think pumpernickel) to the full size patty (better than the double smashed you get elsewhere) to the onions to the gooey melted cheese to the extreme juiciness and pleasing flavor. I didn't detect any Russian dressing, but this sandwich wasn't lacking for moistness or flavor oomph. A near-elite rendition and one of the best I've had in a while. Excellent. -- Fries: Included with the patty melt and a plentiful supply. The bad news: they're the dreaded industrial "coated" kind. The good news: they were piping hot and cooked perfectly, crisp outside, fluffy inside. The great news: you can substitute home fries. My server offered a sample of the home fries. -- Home Fries: I found them to be right in my wheelhouse for doneness, crispness, seasoning, onions, and overall texture and flavor. Superb. Between the good looking plates that passed by and my enjoyment of my own food on my first visit, there's sure to be a second. Looking forward to returning with my wife for breakfast and more of those home fries.

Definitely returning for our next breakfast meal!

She was very helpful with making decisions on what to have with what. I had the Reuben. A long-time favorite of mine. They make their own rye bread, and it shows. I think I might've asked for more kraut, but it was still very good. My wife had two eggs, over easy, with corned beef hash. She realized they put saurkraut into the hash, too, making it quite tasty. My youngest had the meat-lover's omelette. It was impressive. So much flavor. And it didn't taste too greasy with all the meats. My oldest had a BLT. I didn't get to taste it, but he definitely enjoyed it.

Lots of counter stools and booths in 1950s pastel yellows and greens. My visit was a patty melt quest. They happily served it during the morning hours. The good: - Proper use of rye bread and onions - Proper buttering and griddling of the bread - Beef pink and juicy - Can substitute tots or hash browns for fries - Good flavors and mostly good textures The not-so-good: - Cheap beef with a clenched feel; a bit rubbery The cooking and overall presentation overcame the weakness of the beef ingredient to yield a tasty and pleasurable finished product. But the beef is noticeable as the weak link. Spicy hash browns were very good. Soft texture with some crispness too, and very enjoyable spiciness that didn't overpower. Decent coffee. Friendly service.

Went for a Valentine's Day brunch with friends!…read more Food - incredibly good, I highly recommend the breakfast poutine. Lots of flavor and the kielbasa was amazing! My bf got the corned beef hash, he mentioned it was good but very dry. He was rather eating my plate more than his own. I would say the corned beef hash is interesting as it has homefries mixed in, which was a bit much for us. Service - quick, got us in and got all of our orders correct even with a full house. We waited approx. 40 mins for a table though for 6 people even though we were quoted 20 mins. Ambiance - the ambiance was good, it's a nice little restaurant and has nice waitresses/waiters. However, for such a busy place, there is literally no parking due to it being so packed. Also, they don't take reservations on weekends, which makes it even tougher. Overall, good experience (besides the wait) and everyone had great food!

They have a great cocktail menu with options like espresso martinis and Bloody Marys, which Ive gotta come back and try. Such a great little spot if you're in the Worcester area.
