A/C Marriott suggested for breakfast was a 5 minute walk. Nikki was our server. Sooo great. Checked often to see if all was okay. Quick service, great food and a clean nice diner. 5 of us at noon on Saturday. I had oatmeal with berries, just the right consistency, hot and delicious. Husband had the Two's special, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausages and 2 pancakes. Pancakes were huge and yummy. 1 Italian breakfast for daughter said best ever, son had Caesar salad and clam chowder could not finish salad as was huge and clam chowder bowl hot and great taste. I ordered the anniversary special and my wife ordered the eggs with Hollandaise sauce. Both were amazing. Good portions (we have leftovers for tonight)! We spoke to the chef and staff for a while. Mid-mod decor makes a neat change from the (awesome) standard train car, and way nicer than the builder-built drywall special. Great service, food on par with the VERY high standard in Worcester. We went with an old pal which was a nice plus. Next time we must dig into the history; it looks from the fun photos on the wall that this is neither the first building nor the first location. Sometimes, you just want the classic diner. And this place is it. No, it's not going to win any points on location--it's literally underneath a freeway/train overpass. Came here bright and early for breakfast (~7am ish), and after some initial challenge figuring out how to get into the parking lot, we were seated very quickly at a very clean and well-lit booth as there was only one other set of customers in the restaurant. It got busier as time went on. The food is freshly-prepared and everything is consistently well made. The chocolate chip pancake for my kid was one of the best we've tried anywhere, and when you consider that it is less than $4, it is in a class by itself. I had a ham, cheese, and onion omelette that was also wonderful, came with tasty home fries and buttery toast. The sausages come in quantity and they're very tasty. Service was impeccable, host and wait staff very friendly. Note, it's cash only, but it is reflected in their prices, which seem to be from decades ago. We were very pleasantly surprised at this restaurant, and given our semi-regular visits to Worcester, we'll definitely be back! read more

Nice small diner with a very packed breakfast menu and a few lunch items. We went later morning on a Saturday and found it busy but not packed. We really liked the location underneath the train and all of the pigeons flying around and sitting in the structure. Guess we did some pigeon watching instead of people watching! They have a huge variety of omelettes and other egg dishes. My dining partner got the Greek omelette and loved it. It was absolutely packed with feta and olives. I tried the very unique two eggs any way with meatballs dish and it did not disappoint. Absolutely loved the meatballs. So tasty! Breakfast also came with bread (I went with cinnamon raisin and he went with Italian) that was nicely toasted and buttered. Both dishes came with home fries. Horrifying experience! After waiting in line for 20 minutes, I was told that because I am only a party of one that I could not sit at a table. I had to sit at counter only, of which there were only a few stools and due to health issues that would not have been comfortable for me. I told them that this was a very rude policy as sitting is arranged by how much money you're spending and absolutely zero accommodations for those whom wait in line just like everyone else. This place is open 24/7 or so it seems. After a night out, my friends are always looking to eat, and Kenmore Diner is the usual spot to go since it's always open! The service is amazing and they definitely know their usual crowd. It's definitely super busy after the weekend night but service is spectacular. They have to have pretty good patience since half of their crowd are usually intoxicated after going out. They grab your drinks and take down your order faster than any place I've gone to with a happy perk, maybe it's because it's so busy they don't have enough time to slow down. The food comes out fast and is the usual breakfast choices, but you're paying for not having to cook and filling your stomach after a night out so I'd say it's worth it. Kenmore Diner is similar to many diners I have been to before. It was very busy when I went but we only waited about 20 minutes for a table. I am not really a fan of eggs, but decided to try to the deluxe egg sandwich and a side of homefries. The service was quick but not really friendly (very much a eat and go type vibe). I was pleasantly surprised by my sandwich. The veggies and cheese were cooked into the egg and there wasn't an overpowering egg taste (which is what I don't enjoy about eggs). Overall it was a good meal. However, I never received my homefries, which is the only reason there is a loss of a star. I would have asked about them but after 10 minutes and finishing my sandwich, I still couldn't wave down a server. Don't have high expectations when you go here. The food is good and they are quick but it's a typical diner atmosphere and can get very busy. read more

It's always a pleasure dining at Kenmore. After a night out with friends, I arrived here around 2:30AM. For those not from the area or those who have never been -- there is plenty of parking right in front of the diner. When I arrived there was a line and a bit of a wait (around 20 minutes) but it was well worth it! The staff are very friendly and super attentive and the service is pretty quick. I got the French toast and a side of eggs, the former was simple but so hearty! My friend got the blueberry pancakes and cheese omelette which she equally enjoyed. The serving sizes are good and very filling. She enjoyed her meal as well. It's always good eats and laughter at Kenmore, I encourage you to try it. read more

I found this place to be kind of lame, especially for a 21st century diner. I appreciate them being open late and taking us in, to feed our hungry bellies at 2 am but their menu options were dissapointing. We ordered water (and instead you get bottled water without being asked if that's ok) which was ok because I think the waitress forgot to charge us. But then I ordered a small juice ($.90) and instead she brings out a bottled juice which ended up being $1.50. Again not a big deal but tell me before hand. The thing I found lame about this diner was their lack of vegan options. I told her I couldn't eat cheese so she said well "fine order some eggs" and I said "nope don't eat those to." I asked her instead if I could do a scrambled potato mix with broccoli + onions + peppers and she said "no definitely not, he [cook] won't go for that" She didn't even ask the cook to see if he would do that. Now I have been to a few other diners - at Penn State and in the New Hampshrie boondocks and they had no problem doing that. Also diners in Boston and Watertown have some good veggie options so why can't Kenmore? After that all I wanted to do was go home. The homefries were good, but who wants just potatoes? So 1 star for the 21st century diner but 5 stars if you want the 1950s diner experience with limited options, rude service, and drunk townies. read more

Even if your friend decides he can give the waitress a hard time about not having egg beaters because he works in food service as well. Yo, drunk friend, eat your eggs and like them, won't ya? The food comes out fast, the staff doesn't take any shit and almost everything is decent. In a city of diners this is the one to pass on. Open really stupid hours-- like 8pm - 11 am or something like that. The food is mediocre and the service varies. I was in one night and the cook was smoking a cigarette inside the restaurant. When I asked the waitress she said he was her son and she was trying to get him to quit. I left without getting my food. Ash-Omelletes are not for me. The diner is fairly new because it replaced the original which was destroyed in the tragic Warehouse Fire back in 2000 which cost the lives of six firemen. Not sure why all the bad reviews, this place is a Worcester icon since the late '70s, I do agree when it was rebuilt they could have made it nicer and bigger, but honestly this place is great! The food is always hot and fresh, the service is great and the food comes out so fast no matter how busy they are. They do only accept cash which is a down side but who cares, after a night at the bar/club all you have is cash anyways. Been there at all hours and every time the food is great.
