The former Stone House and I'm happy about the former! The service is excellent with the owner visibly present and engaging with the customers. The menu has a southern flair and the food has been excellent every time we have visited. The dry rub ribs may be my favorite but the pot roast is excellent as well. They have a nice list of micro brews well and a nice outdoor area. The craft cocktails are exceptional! It's very, very loud in this place so be prepared for that. We've tried the food twice now, and it's just OK. Run of the mill bar food, basically. I had the fish and chips last time, and it was nice and fluffy and crispy when it came out, but after about five minutes, it turned into a chewy mess with a very off-putting texture. The fries were just OK. Definitely from a frozen bag. Not much flavor at all. The cole slaw that came with it was delicious, though-I think maybe a hint of horseradish! The waitress and manager (?) were great and very friendly and quick with service. I had a boozy milkshake which was really yummy and Creamy- highly recommend trying one of those. read more

I've been coming to this place since the new owners took over. I usually recommend it to friends... At first it was great but I don't know what has gone south with the management ...We waited extra long for our appetizer, the other table that came in after us received theirs way before us. And management is not customer service friendly. If you don't like something and send it back, they will charge you for it anyway even if it is a side of dipping sauce. (The dipping sauce I had tasted weird so I asked for ranch instead, then the manager came over and talked to me explaining that they have to pay for every sauce that comes out of the kitchen so even if I don't like it I'm still going to be charged $.80) I did not even ask to speak to the manager. It was so strange that she came over and introduced herself. She asked if I wanted to speak to a manager because it was her and I said no I don't need to speak to a manager. And then she asked about the sauce. I don't mind paying for extra dipping sauce. I just thought it tasted weird and I wanted ranch instead. The whole scenario was off putting and I left feeling like I had asked too much of them to replace it. This is not what I had expected from this place. With so many great options in Lemont, I am really going to have to think twice about patronizing this business again. read more

I was in town for 2 weeks for work. I wanted to find a place between my hotel and where my aunt lived. I chose this place for a Sunday brunch. The food and service was good. Due to Covid restrictions many restaurants were not allowed to have indoor dining. They had a tent set up over the patio which was perfect. We enjoyed the food and bloody marys they had a special on. I would love to come back next time we are in town. read more

I went with a friend this past weekend for my first time here. My friend was able to recommend some great items to try! We were able to get a table outside as every table was taken twenty minutes later! We started with Fried Cauliflower Bites to share and an order each of CST Wings Naked with a Caribbean Rub Dry Rub. Outstanding on both of these appetizers! The wings are Korean style which means they look like they were injected with steroids! You only get four, but they are gigantic! The Cauliflower bites are plentiful and delicious, I was able to save some for leftovers the next day. I threw a couple of Sunny Side eggs on them and it was delicious! I'll make sure to try the Deviled Eggs & Bacon next time! The Beer list is pretty expansive, there are so many different beers to try, I went with a English golden Ale which was fantastic. The staff will bring you a sample for anything you want to try. Now lets get to the main courses. I couldnt decide between the Pot Roast, Prime Rib and Chicken Fried Pork sandwiches. Im glad I went with the Pot Roast! Hands down this is the BEST Pot Roast that I have had in my life! If you doubt me, please order it and give it a try. The Pot Roast is slow cooked with House made gravy, provolone cheese and topped with Crispy onions on a toasted Briouch bun. Phenomenal! I took a bite, put my sandwich down and told my buddy that this could be one of the best sandwiches I have ever had in my life! My only error was not getting the dinner portion! I also ordered fries and cracklins on the side. Fries and Loaded potato skins? Cmon, these were delicious! There are so many items I want to try in the future! I heard that the Reuben sandwich, which is only available around St Patricks Day is phenomenal! The Weekend Brunch menu left me salivating for more. Check out the menu! The service, staff, owner, environment, price, quality, menu options and taste are all 5 star worthy! There are a lot of great places to eat in this area, but you have to stop here for the Pot Roast Sandwich! Very excited to try this place based on the reviews. However not impressed even let down. We were so excited for shrimp and grits even though the menu stated it was fried shrimp we were psyched. Imagine our shock when we were presented with deep fried cubes of what was supposed to be grits with goat cheese. That should be on the menu! I also ordered or capris a salad, mouth is watering just thinking about the tomatoes in the mozzarella with balsamic and pesto. What I received was sliced up dry out tomatoes with mozzarella cheese. The king was super salty and Italian dressing there was no pesto to be found nor any basil. I also ordered a chicken breast with a grill who is dried out and flavorless. On side note the Boozy shake by my wife said it was quite delicious and packed a nice punch. Overall it was very forgettable and I will not be back nor can I recommend this place to anyone read more

What a great find in Downtown Lemont. We were walking around enjoying the beautiful day and decided to stop in for a snack and some beverages. The bartender was amazing, the atmosphere was wonderful, and let me tell you, the pretzel sticks with their three dipping sauces (cheddar cheese, spicy queso and honey mustard) were amazing!!! The wonderful bartender checked on us throughout our time there. Definitely will be back for the CST burger we heard so much about! read more

Three things you need to know about Corner Stone Tavern... 1. Their steak chili, cracklin's and fried cauliflower bits are outstanding - must try them all! 2. They have excellent craft cocktails - A.J. our favorite bartender, makes an amazing Black Manhattan. I like their boozy milkshakes which are perfect in place of a dessert. 3. The restaurant inside is cozy and comfortable - their outdoor patio in the summer is a perfect hangout along the canal and steps away from Pollyanna and Bottles. I was so excited for this place to open! The menu is different and unique compared with other local restaurants. Every time I have been in, service has been great, which is unusual for a brand new restaurant. I've tried the hot chicken sandwich and the cauliflower appetizer. Both were delicious with the right amount of spice. They did a great job revamping the space and cleaning it up. It looks great inside! The outdoor patio space is nice as well. I do wish they offered a few more salad options or something a little lighter but this is more of a spot to come when you're craving comfort food with a twist. read more

Great place in Lemont. They have excellent happy hour specials including draft beer and appetizers. The goat cheese grits were interesting. I really didn't taste the goat cheese but it's all good. 4/16/20 We ordered curbside pickup this evening. Jalapeno Mac & Cheese, blackened fish tacos and a Prime Burger med rare. Corner Stone Tavern said "20 minutes", and 20 minutes later, server was putting the bag in the back of my car. No contact pickup. I told her the tip to add and she verified the total and done. Fish tacos? Delicious. Jalapeno slaw? Sublime. Mac & Cheese? Beautifully executed. And now the burger. Drumroll please..... Did the chef make it medium rare? Did he/she understand their grill top and the effect of carry over cooking? (Why can't anyone seem to get a burger patty moist and pink?) NAILED IT! Pink juicy hot burger. YooHoo! Nicely done. We had a great dining experience for our initial visit to Corner Stone Tavern. We started with the fried cauliflower which was just phenomenal! In addition, they had a side of sweet potato fries that were great. My wife and daughter had salads that were very good. I had the hot chicken dinner that was very tasty.
