Having my son's car towed here was a bad experience. One of the Cornerstone mechanics gave help on the side of the road and was a great guy to stop and do that- he even drove my son and me home while AAA was towing the car. After the car was at Cornerstone for several days, it finally became clear they didn't want to do the work because they were too busy doing contract work on other vehicles. We ended up having to pay them for an analysis, they announced they didn't want to do the work and then we had to pay to have the car towed somewhere else. read more

Before taking your car the Cornerstone its best to make an appointment. Today August 17th is the second time I've taken my car here and I'm satisfied with the customer service. Cornerstone has the prices posted on the wall, they are fair with their prices, the mechanics do an awesome job and you are greeted with a smile the door. They also do the job I asked for without doing other jobs and adding it to a bill. I recommend this anybody looking to get some maintenance done on their car. read more

Cornerstone - Oil Change Stations Near Me - Eureka, California

Absolutely do not take your car here. I was lured in by the cheap prices, and yes the lady at the counter is very nice but they are all very unprofessional. I took my car in to have my head gasket repaired, against my gut feeling. Soon after that i took my car to another auto place recommended to me by a teacher at CR who vouched for one of his own students that took automotive classes at CR. What a difference in professionalism, I was informed that some critical hoses that should have been changed when the head gasket was fixed were completely overlooked and brittle to the touch. Already weary of the work done at cornerstone i decided to just have the people at this place do it instead. Upon closer inspection they noticed that the same old bolts were used but already frustrated i didn't bother to have that replaced. Super long story short, I was headed out for a road trip when within a mile from crescent city i hear what sounds like a bolt fall out and my car overheated. I took it to the nearest shop and lo and behold it was my head gasket! I was furious, so i call cornerstone to tell them what happened and they kept trying to insist i pay for my car to be towed back. I'm glad i stood my ground and had them pay for it or else i would have never gotten my money back for their mistake. Once i get there the lady proceeds to try to blame me for the incident since i had already put so many miles into it (mind you still within warranty) I told her i had been keeping up with the maintenance and that I had been told by another mechanic that they had failed to replace old hoses and bolts and that i could provide a copy as proof of the outside work I had to do. They told me it would not be necessary because they had copies of all the work done as well, uhhhh? Copies of old hoses and used bolts?? So ten days later i call and ask what is going on with my car since i had not heard from them in over a week, she insists that it was a week since they closed for the weekend to go to the river so technically just a week, whatever I'm not going to argue over petty stuff. She tells me it's ready but to pick it up the next day. Everything was "covered by warranty" according to her but that they thought it was fair i pay for towing. If everything is covered by warranty due to a faulty part why would i have to pay for anything? I proceeded to tell her it was not my fault the car overheated and i was not going to pay for it and if that was the case I'd bring the paperwork for the seperate work i had to pay elsewhere for what they didn't do. She said it was not necessary and forget it I won't have to pay the towing after all, (admittance to fault perhaps?) Crappy service, unprofessional, never again. I'd rather pay more elsewhere than pay cheap something that in the long run will cost me way more. OH!! And she said since i didn't have much money they didn't bother telling me ask the things wrong with my car or i would freak out. My response to that, it is your responsibility to tell me what is wrong with my car if i pay you to check it out and up to me whether i decide to do something about it or not. Ugh!!! Unlike most auto shops cornerstone does not make you feel like you are dealing with salesmen. The lady at the desk is extremely nice and not pushy whatsoever. I personally like to go to a auto shop where I know I won't be pressured into buying a brand new engine, when I go for a simple oil change. Cornerstone will continue to earn my business. Can't say enough good things. My car was towed to them, they had an estimate right away and fixed my car that very same day. They gave me a good price and the year warranty for parts and labor was an added bonus. They didn't even flinch when I paid in cash, debit card and a credit card. My wife's car needed an oil change, and I just happened to be driving by this place and noticed their $25 oil change special. That's about as cheap as it gets, so I pulled on in. The guy I dealt with was very nice and my car was done in about a half hour. After I paid, the guy says if I've got five minutes he'll fix the scrape on the bumper for free, since I'm a first time customer. Pay attention, business owners! That kind of service is what makes someone go out of their way to submit a business to yelp, leave a five star review, tell their friends, and become a repeat customer. Oil changes are pretty standard, and generally don't leave much of an impression. These guys got me in the door with the price, and won me over with their service. I'm taking my other car back for new shocks soon. They also do body work, brakes and wheels (probably some other stuff too). Check 'em out, they'll earn your business. read more
