Again! WTF is it with Cornerstone? I have a menu at home which I used to order 3 calzones tonight. My menu clearly says that a medium 2 topping calzone is $9.99. When I arrived to pick up my order they tried to charge me $50 for the 3. I stopped the girl & told her that there must be a mistake because, according to my menu, it should be closer to $30. She got very sassy with me and laughed and said there is no way, they've never been that price. I calmly explained that it's possible that the prices have changed but don't tell me "its NEVER been that price" because I have the menu at home. She just gave me another sassy response. I asked for a refund. Then I had to ask for a receipt because she didn't want to give me one. She asked if I wanted to speak with the owner (then she pointed to the bald guy cooking in the back). I said yes, but first I was running home to grab the menu. When I returned, the bald guy in the back, told me to leave & not come back. He said he'd already called the police on me. I asked him for what and he said theft!!!! I asked him what I stole (because I did not take the calzones with me on my previous trip).... he simply repeated that I needed to leave now, never come back, & that the police were on their way. A few months ago I had similar drama with the same two employees when my sub sandwich was half eaten & my dressings (for the wings) were missing!!!!! I'm not a pizza snob by any means. I'd eat cardboard with sauce and cheese on it, but you've gotta give props to the pros who do it right. I'm convinced this is the best NY-style pizza in Orlando. Hand-tossed, dense thin crusts, a clean and smooth sauce, perfect mozzarella. I go for mushroom regularly, but their meatball topping is not to be overlooked. Also on the menu is a variety of passable Italian entrees for the dough-disinclined. If I was rating solely on pizza and wings, I'd give them 5 stars. Speaking of wings, I'm also convinced that Cornerstone has the best chicken wings in Orlando. We've gotten soggy wings at every place we've ever been in this podunk town, even when specifically ordering them to be cooked well for a good crunch. Cornerstone is the first that actually does them right without a special order: crispy, juicy, meaty and flavorful. I've been converted from a ho-hum wing nibbler to a full-on wing devourer. Totally love this place. Reminds me of a typical NY pizza parlor with pizza by the slice, huge pies and terrific sauce. I treat my employees once a month to a bunch of pizzas delivered and they count down the days to that lunch. Have picked up dinner to take home and eaten in. Those that said it was a hole are absolutely correct. But some of the best food is made at Mom and Pop places that aren't worried about their decor. Just great food at a great price. Came here for the first time because we recently moved to this side of town and were excited about our new local pizza place. Sadly, we were terribly disappointed. Dined in, ordered a 16-inch: half veggie, half meat lovers. Waitress/cashier did not ask us if we wanted anything to drink, so after we were rung up I asked for cups for water., which she gave us. Waited more than 30 minutes. Closer to 40 minutes. It seemed like forever. Meanwhile, the TV was blaring. It was a Sunday evening and couldn't have been that unusually busy. I have no idea why it took so long. We were absolutely starving by the time the pizza arrived. The pizza was not what we ordered but we were so hungry we ate it anyway. It had not cooled and was burning hot. The waitress did not check in to see if anything was OK, so we did not get to tell her our disappointment until after we were done. The "meat lovers" had only scarce clumps of sausage, unevenly distributed. No pepperoni, no ham, as it was supposed to have. The veggie had canned olives, hardly any mushrooms, but plenty of green peppers and onions. I had also requested jalapeño, which turned out to be a good thing, because it was the only way of giving the pizza flavor. Worst part: The pizza was extremely soggy, the dough uneven. The sauce was spread too lightly. Flavorless. Bland. Overall, it was the worst pizza in as long as I can remember. I usually go to Anthony's on East Colonial and Mills, and I expected something similar to its quality, but what we received is an embarrassment to Orlando. I'm so disappointed in this place because I was really hoping for something more out of a local pizza place - especially one that charges boutique pizza prices. However, it seems like the manager or owner was not even present. Whoever owns this place must have poorly paid workers running the place, slopping pizza together. I expressed my disappointment before we left and, while the cashier was apologetic, the cook who actually made our garbage could not have cared less. He clearly has no pride in his work whatsoever. I've had their food a number of times. Last night we had a calzone with pepperoni and sausage. We've usually done takeout. First, the restaurant itself is pretty small. It's more of a takeaway place and not built for eating in. The place could probably use a good cleaning, but the kitchen area looks pretty sanitary, so all is ok with me, the germ freak. The pizza is a New York style and is reasonably priced. The ingredients are of good quality, but the toppings are of thin distribution. The sauce is pretty good. It does not have huge chunks of tomato, but still has a nice consistency. The flavor is just right too. Overall, the pizza is good, not great. The calzones are huge, like most places. They are flavorful and do not have an overabundance of cheese. Many places fill it with large amounts of ricotta, and is thus too cheesy. This place does it right. Service has always been good. We've never had an issue and don't anticipate one. read more

These guys are awesome! Open late - we always drive down for pickup, but they will deliver. I like the Bianco - AKA White Pizza. My girlfriend always orders hers more traditional, but with Pineapple. We also do the Calizones and Wings pretty often. Both are up to snuff with the other offerings. For something sweet, try the Canoli. Worth your time! I order here and got "all day special", 16 inch pizza with one topping and 20 piece wings for 27.99. The pizza is actually really good; and the wings were bomb ( I order the Parmesan garlic) . I'm giving them two stars. If I could do halves, I'd give them 2.5 stars. I've had the pizza here several times while visiting from Massachusetts. I was not in the mood for pizza one nite, so I ordered spaghetti & meatballs. Bad move. I went to pick up my order. I got this sideways look from the counter person. Then they said that they had no knowledge of my order. They were not very apologetic about their error, but said that they could make the food in about 10 minutes. In the interim, I had to watch the counter girl and boyfriend groping each other in the lobby. That's ok...but the food better be good. It stunk. The meatballs tasted like bread crumbs, not meat. The sauce was like Ragu. Bottom line...it's obviously a pizza place. The quantity of the food was below average. Next...comments about the pizza. It's ok. Not bad....decent pizza overall. However, they skimp like crazy on the toppings. The ham, hamburg and bacon pieces are so small. My advice....stick with a basic cheese or pepperoni pizza and check the website for specials. Cornerstone Pizza is a small mostly take out pizza place on East Michigan. Stopped in and ordered two slices of pizza for dinner one night. This is by no means a fancy place. The inside was pretty dated and there were only a few small tables and chairs. It had a very family feel to this place. It appeared that the people eating inside the restaurant were family members of the owner. I ordered my pizza and then waited about 7 minutes while they heated it up. I was pleasantly surprised with the pizza. It was very thin, but it had a nice crunchy thicker crust. The prices here aren't bad either. I heard they have a great lunch special. read more

Cornerstone is the real deal. The pizza tastes just like it would in New York and it comes at real New York prices ($1.99 a slice vs. some of these clowns who charge up to $4 for a "real slice"). The guys that work there are awesome, always very friendly and always dishing up awesome pizza. It's a small spot, so you can sit in if you wanted to, but it's much better to just order it out. And it's no surprise that on a Friday night you'll see a constant stream of people coming in and out. I wish these guys the best. read more

I've been here a couple times. First time, I got a slice of cheese pizza for something like 2 dollars which I think is a great price (especially because the slice was huge). I also got a house salad. I was rather disappointed that they didn't have any type of vinaigrette dressing so I went with the blue cheese. It was a big salad but just average in taste. The second time, it was like 2 in the morning when I went (have to give the place props for being open so late) but I got the veggie slice this time. The only thing was they didn't cook the veggies into the pizza. It was just an old cheese slice with veggies from a salad on top. That'd be my only major complaint. Pros- The pizza was good. We got two slices and they were HUGE. The crust was thin. The least greasiest pizza slice I have ever eaten. They have an Orlando Weekly stand inside - love reading that :) Normal prices. Two bucks a slice. They have wings too. When people came in, they seemed to know them. Cons- We asked for Blanco pizza and they were out. We asked for Sicilian and they were out. It was like four or five so I am not sure why they were out of everything before dinner time. I'm not sure why you would come here just for regular pizza unless you were hungry and this place was five seconds closer than the other two pizza joints. Customer service was bad. I think everyone there thought it was illegal to greet, smile or be friendly in general. Somehow there was a miscommunication between the man behind the counter and us. He thought the two of us wanted one piece of cheese pizza and ordered one piece and charged us for one piece. We thought he charged us for one just because he was out of the TWO kinds of pizza that made this place different than any pizza joint. Then when it came out, we asked where the rest was. I think he was trying to hint that they didnt want to make any Blanco or Sicilian pizza slices. We thought we told him we would wait. The man had disappeared and now a girl was talking to us. Me and my boyfriend both thought we had said "if we have to wait 20 minutes for you to make something, we will wait." The girl charged us for another piece and we waited 30 minutes for it while we watched boxes of pizza get taken out by customers who came in after us. He had apologized for being out of the pizza we wanted but then he was MIA when the girl was trying to understand what was going on. The place is small. It has maybe four tables and a small TV with football playing on it. The neighborhood is sketchier than sketchy. I started reading an Orlando Weekly and halfway through found a huge glop of pizza sauce on it. Apparently, someone was reading it, dropped their pizza on it and put it back in the stand. Eww. What ever you do, don't dine in. It is a rather dingy looking place with only enough seating for 10 or so. The atmosphere leaves much to be desired. The pizza is another story altogether, very very nice. They say they use a wood oven and you can tell, the crust is just about perfect, crispy, so you can pick up a slice without it drooping. The sauce is excellent as is the cheese, plenty of flavor and not dripping grease. I love a thin crust pizza, the only thing more i could ask for is an overall thinner slice. They have subs and wings as well, which I imagine could be quite good, but I have not tried them. I woul say this is one of my favorite pizza spots in Orlando. read more

This is a "no-frills" pizza joint is in the neighborhood, and having had the pleasure of stopping in a few times, I can say this is a great slice o' pie. The pieces are big, I ordered the deluxe which was hot and great tasting, the sauce, cheese and crust are all very good, if you prefer a thicker NY crust, this is it. All in all, the flavor was good, the staff friendly, the place was unassuming...not much inside..just a spot to "nom" down your food.
