Having to move to a new home is extremely stressful, especially during the holiday season, but Cornerstone Properties really helped me out. First of all, office assistants walked me through the application process and let me know exactly what I needed to do and provide. Their online application was easy to understand complete. The office staff showed patience and a real desire to quickly get me into a home. Next, my property manager was flexible in viewing dates and times. She answered all of my questions and gave clear explanations about the property and how to proceed with the application process. She was very knowledgeable about the property and the process. Equally important, when I signed the lease, Cornerstone Properties provided a very comprehensive inventory, allowing me to make notes regarding the condition of the rental. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I am allowed to submit any discrepancies in the report two weeks after moving in. It hasn't been two weeks yet, but I love my new home. The people at Cornerstone Properties made this all happen. The price of this rental is pretty much in line with comps in the area. I'm glad about that. I trust that the attention I received during the application period will continue during my tenancy. Their online repair and maintenance forms will make submitting requests a breeze. Terrible management , it was my worst experience ever, dont ever rent with them even if price seems good ! All the care is how much money they can get from you ! I have toilet flooding 3 times and when I called manager Tiffany being super stressed - she said I am busy driving and never texted back ! They never answer emails regarding money they have to pay , only when they charge for something , and just super rude employees in general! No respect ! When I left apartment I hired a professional cleaner to clean it and paid for it 300$, but they charged me another 500$ just because they prefer their cleaning and when I asked for receipt ( because I am 100% sure apartment was perfectly clean )- they just ignored it and took money out of my deposit! read more

UPDATE! SCAM ALERT I reported their scam with BBB 2 months ago and cornerstone declined to answer back to BBB. Cornerstone properties own their cleaning company. I cleaned a properly I rented with them as they requested. They charged me $1073 in cleaning fees without doing a walk through inspection with me, they charged me this inflated amount for small touch ups and normal wear which is illegal. I tried to reach out to them to negotiate a decent fee but this scammers were too thirsty for stealing $1,073 from a family in the middle of pandemic. Because of this I reported them to BBB and now they're hiding. Here I'm posting an email sent by BBB explaining me Cornerstone is avoiding them and suggesting me to sue them. read more

They don't deserve any star at all. They charged us with the old carpet that should have been changed long time in an old apartment that was already falling apart. The floors squeaked, they painted the tub with paint, and the neighbor downstairs always complains about leaks from old pipes that was a major problem too. I've emailed them about removing my parents from the lease because they moved to the mainland, and they never did. Andrew, our property manager is not a nice person and thinks he's all tough running things behind the keyboards through emails. The beautiful people at cornerstone properties can pick the absolute worst tenants that could have been found. My tenants, The tenants chosen by cornerstone properties, paid rent for a total of four of 24 months. The state paid some the county paid some and I paid the rest. The good news is since I did go completely broke was I was able to help pay for the $16,000 in damages done by the tenants that cornerstone refused to help me recover by groveling on my knees to my sister begging for help. So now I'm closer to my sister I guess. Cornerstone did assist with the eviction process. And then promptly washed their hands of the mess they helped make. My wonderful home, having been thoroughly soiled by this company's hand picked trustworthy tenants who passed their background check and were essentially vouched for by their board, has been on the market for 7 months now at well below market value. Not only did I have to pay $16,000 to get it back in a showable state but I've also had to pay the mortgage for another 7 months while I wait for it to sell at an ever decreasing price. So I guess cornerstone's a good choice if you're allergic to a property you love or the idea of living in a household where you pay two mortgages and fight with your spouse all he time about money interests you. It's been an adventure and it's not over yet. I can't even tell if I'm halfway into the woods and I'm on my way out. But I'll guarantee the cornerstone will abandon you at that first opportunity and leave you marching into the unknown alone. I wish I had more kind things to say but I've been trying to compartmentalize this area of my life and the more I think about it the more I feel as though I've been taking advantage of and I hope that you steer clear and don't have to go to counseling to avoid divorce because these people promised you the world and then helped burn down your dreams. read more

ZERO stars!!!!!!! This company is terrible! A friend of mine inquire about them and I was reminded about giving a review to save others the hassle. Tiffany was our PM and after countless contacts to her via text and email on things that needed to be fixed, she must have felt it was too much work on her part which led to a 45 day noticed to move out. BUT the worst of this was the lies. When we were given a 45 day notice to move out (with no reason told, as I understand they are not obligated to tell us), we end of finding out from at least half of the properties we applied for that Tiffany was telling them that we "damaged the property". COMPLETE LIE! We had 3 kids, and I had just given birth, so we needed a home ASAP, but were shock to have kept getting denied. Finally, we asked a few of these properties and they told us exactly what Tiffany said that "we damaged the property" and "we didn't see eye to eye". I have emails and texts saved of all the fixes that needed to be made and my concerns. NONE of which pointed out that WE damaged anything. There was no proof or evidence of her claims and lies that she was telling other PM that we applied with. We were advised by the state office that handles rental concerns to go to Cornerstone and speak with Tiffany directly. So we did. When we arrived, she was not there. I explained to the front desk worker the issue and how Tiffany needed to stop lying to other PM's as we are in need of a home! The front desk worker looked at the property and notes and said she "didn't see any notation of property damage". Which that should tell you that Tiffany took it upon herself to say what she said to intentionally ruin our reputation with renting. To make matters worse, when we were explaining this at their office the CEO Carl comes out of his office and doesn't confront us standing there, but ask the front desk lady what happened. She explains, and he just looks at us saying, "oh, I'm sure Tiffany didn't say that" and walks in his office shutting his door! RUDE. Save yourself the hassle of possible charges, false claims, and various issues and do not rent from them. There are a lot of other great real estate companies that can serve you well! read more

Cornerstone is an excellent rental company. We recently rented here for several years and didn't have a single problem. In fact the company was excellent at resolving some of the issues that surfaced with the property itself, which were beyond the control of the owner or Cornerstone. The entire process with paying rent and requesting maintenance was very simple, and among the best we've ever seen in the places we've lived. The best part is when we decided to move, the company was true to its word and not only honored our agreement, but mailed our deposit back to us in less than a week. That is great service! How do we have multiple holes when we only lived there for 6 months. Second it doesn't matter if we hid the fact, our dog is not consider a pet but a medical equipment so no I did not hid the fact that we had a dog. I have case workers that can fight your case if you want to. I've talked to multiple people that would help me sue you but I decided not to due to going through all the bs with courts. Third what neighbors? I still have contact with the old neighbors and they told me that they got kicked out after 6 years of living there because of there dog, before you even had a no pet policy. The neighbors also told me they were willing to back me up and fight the case with me against you after hearing the fact you didn't want to continue our lease because of our dog. Yes we were friendly with the neighbors and if you want to bring them in we can, I have them all on facebook. So act innocent all you like I know multiple people that can say other wise. Oh yeah and the neighbors above us had 2 dogs so I don't understand what complaints you had. This just proves what kind of landlord you really are, besides I just wanted everyone to know the truth about how they work. They are dishonest, scandalous, and unlawful. Responding to Amandas review on my previous review about how shady this business is. Basically Tiffany Kane and your company tried to threaten me and my family to pay 14,000 in damage we did not cause verified from multiple sources for a repair that you claimed happened but did not. Then you and the previous owner sold the property off for nearly a million dollars and never gave the new home owners no credit for repair for the damaged wall that was and still is damaged to this day at the time of sale. When we requested the actual bill of damages that was repaired to be sent to us or proof of credit to the new home owners because your company, nor Tiffany Kane, nor the previous property owners actually OWN the property as we speak not one of you can provide ANY PROOF whatsoever if that does not scream illegal and fraudulent then I dont know what that is. Why would anyone pay for repair of damages that was never repaired? Tiffany Kane took nearly 3 months to get 3 estimates for the wall and by then your owner chose to sell off their property. He is no longer the owner! The property was listed while in contract with us (illegal) an sold weeks later. As for our rental contract you were PAID IN FULL before we left the island please be honest about that we do NOT OWE you any past due rent. Have never paid a day late! Were EXCELLENT tenants went above and beyond while we got taken advantage of by your company, Tiffany Kane and the homeowner. Reading all the reviews here on this site is something I should have done in the beginning before I switched to Cornerstone. I moved in December of 2009 with my four friends. They had moved in March of 2008. This property has a front and back house that share one electric meter that you can see from the main road. In December of 2014, my friend informed Tiffany of a shower leak. As it was in our contract to let the property manager know of any issues to the property that would need to be fixed. My friend later called and left her voice messages in January and February to which we got no response. (Being that this issue had happened to us before.) We thought Tiffany would get back to us with a solution. In April my friend emailed asking when the plumber would be coming to fix the leakage. We had also asked what the move out procedures were because we were thinking about moving when the lease was up. In May we e-mailed Tiffany one last time and linked it to the president of Cornerstone to which we got a fast response (thankfully). First by the president and then by Tiffany. Within the e-mail that was sent by Tiffany she informed us that our current rental agreement would not be extended past June 30th which only gave us 28 days to find a new place and move. The week after the e-mail from Tiffany the plumber finally came. During his visit he told us the front house all so had a bad leak and that he had fixed it days before he came to fix our house. Through out all of this the electric got higher and higher. In the month of May and June the electric was $1344.56 and $1194.52. The front house only paid $300 the rest was on us. We where disgusted with that. We messaged Tiffany and the president on why do we have to pay so much because we called left you messages about this issue. She says the plumber was called you hadn't returned any of our messages. We told her no you didn't. To me, a company like this, you would think they would have their employees make some form a paper trail to back up her story. She had all of our phone numbers and none of use received any phone calls. Our deposit for this place was $2000 we got nothing back AND she billed us for MORE money after we moved out. The only good thing that she offered was that they have an account with the flea and tick control company and that got us a discount. Lucy and Chelsie were really helpful through out our time with this company. My advice to you is if you have any issues with anything and your property manager does not fix the issue in a timely matter, send the president of Cornerstone an e-mail. read more

Carl and the staff at Cornerstone have been so wonderful. My husband and I rented a property (managed by Cornerstone) for a little over 10 years!!! In those 10 years, we have had no problems with them. When we had issues (ie washer/dryer broke down, refrigerator dying, etc), they got someone to us immediately and had everything fixed and/or replaced. The place was in very nice condition when we moved in...maybe a little wear from the previous renters, because they had a dog. We took very good care of it, but after living there for 10 years things that got worn down we tried to replace. Needless to say, my husband and I were pretty nervous when we checked out. Having 2 kids within our stay, the place had a few whoopsies (ie stubborn stains for nail polish that my kid spilled...grrrr!), and we were expecting to get dinged and even not get our deposit back. We hired professional cleaners to come in after we got all our boxes out. We told Carl we would paint the walls, but he told us we didn't need to. He was impressed at the condition, said the yard was well kept, and everything else was just "everyday wear and tear." I'm not sure if they ended up painting the walls after the final walkthrough, but Carl said that the place was in really good shape after 10 years of being there. After about a week of the place being listed, our old place got new tenants. We loved our old place. We ended up breaking our lease a month early, but they worked around it and let us go. My husband, who handled all the correspondence between our family and Cornerstone, insisted I write a review on Yelp, as he was just so pleased with everything. My husband has never told me to write a review on our behalf for anything. So you know Cornerstone has to be pretty wonderful.
