Well I have dined at this restaurant many times. The Smuggler burger is still my favorite dish there. I did notice that the bun is different than it used to. I prefer the old bun better which had a better texture and crunch. The new one is bland like a typical bun you get from grocery store. The burger is still great and I love the coffee grind coating. The Smuggler used to get a 5 stars. I think it deserves only a 4 stars due to the bread choice. Their fish & chip came with one large and one average fillet of fish. The coleslaw was very good. It tasted very good when eaten with the dip. Their french fries are much better than their tots. All in all, the service is great. I would give it a 4 stars! read more

Here's our experience, hopefully the owner takes it into consideration! *Waitress rushed us - very pushy to get it over with. Not an ounce of hospitality in her bones. *Nachos we're absolutely incredible! Hands down one of the best nachos I've ever had. *They don't offer fry sauce - yet, they have ketchup & mayo. Please offer this! If you made a spicy fry sauce to go with your onion rings, it would really kick it up a notch. *Onion rings & tots need salt/seasoning. *Cajun blue burger had wayyyy too much blue cheese. I couldn't get more than two bites before being unable to finish it :( it was too overpowering. The actual burger meat itself was very good! You guys just need to use the "crumbles" that the menu says it has, not a pile/spread. *Rice Krispy Treat to go was very underwhelming. It looked so yummy - but the bag smelled like old fry oil & it was very stale & not flavorful. A coworker wanted a burger and beer. He suggested cornucopia, so we decide to meet up for a lunch. The setting is nice, parking is easily accessible nearby. The staff was great and we were quickly seated with our waters following closely behind. I don't eat beef and saw that alternatives were a veggie Pattie. I always like to dabble in veggie burgers just in case I want to visit when I have a hankering for a burger. So I ordered the veggie burger with fries. The portions are very good and the price can be a tad bit higher than most places for the same thing. The fries were crispy and very good. The veggie is where it fell flat. The pattie was too dry and bland and couldn't even continue to finish it and took it home. Let's just say the fries were finished and the burger was not. We came in at around 5. There was this tall girl who sat us. She kind of rolled her eyes, sat us at a table and said just a head sup, tickets are going to be about 49 minutes for food, ok? We ended up leaving (second time she has been kind of rude) . The first time, I brought my mom in for her birthday dinner at around 7pm, same girl came up, rolled her eyes and looked at the other waitress and pointed at us and said ugh I'm sorry. I looked at my mom and apologized. We might be going to the other cornucopia from now on. Cornucopia has always been a favorite for their good food and drinks, but this location seems to be riding their accolades as a means to bring in business and is cutting back on service. It used to be a nice place to get a good meal for a decent price, but now its a 45 minute wait after ordering to get a $20 burger. Thankfully the food is still good and enjoyable, but the circumstances surrounding your visit will sour the trip. At a table for 2 it took 15 minutes to order and another 45 minutes to see our food. We sat with our check for a good 20 minutes as well before we got up and went inside to pay at the bar as noone would pick up the card with the tab. Cornucopia was an old favorite of mine and still has a decent menu, I hope they reinvest into the restaurant staff and setting to make it a fully enjoyable experience again. read more

I would like to start this review by saying we love Cornucopia. We have eaten lunch and dinner here and at their other location Eugene and have always been well pleased with the service and food. This morning we went to their newly opened up breakfast and couldn't wait to try it. They weren't ready for the crowd they were getting. The service was amazingly slow and to make matters worse, I ordered the wrong thing (my fault) and I had to have them take it back and make me something else. I am diabetic and have to stay off the carbs so I had no choice. Again, my fault. When a mistake is made they usually put your order in "on the fly" and it goes ahead of the que. I heard them call it out but it didn't happen. It took a half hour or more to get my breakfast. My wife had finished hers so I took it to go. Unfortunately, I ordered no potatoes and it came on top of the biggest pile of little potato squares you've ever seen. They were going to comp the meal but I insisted on paying for the first meal that I mistakenly ordered (trying to be an honest guy). I tipped well because they know how it all went down and I don't want anyone to suffer financially. Now here I am at the computer trying to eat it and unfortunately it's just not that good. Very bland. You want a good burger then go here cause they are great but they need to work on their breakfast. personally I'm hoping they do get it right cause they are one of my favorite restaurants. This place is cute in a quaint college-town way. They have homemade veggie burgers, which I always appreciate. The burgers are tasty. The fries are tasty. Everything is tasty... but a bit unmemorable. And I would argue it's overpriced, clocking in at $15 per burger. They have some salads on the menu but these aren't vegetarian. Most of the menu is heavy, cheesy, arterie-clogging, like so much of the food in Eugene. (I think I'm starting to feel disappointed that most of Eugene's restaurants are American pub fare and wanting something different... cue Ariel, "I want moooooore") But: if that's the kind of food you want, this place is a good spot. Talk about generous serving sizes! Holy smokes. The fries & tots were not something to mess with!! Falling off plate amount haha we ordered a burger & well (which was listed as part of the Monday $18.99 deal, but we were charged for both anyways..) then I got the 1/4 # burger and added cheese. Really great tasting burgers with lots of toppings, sauce. So good. Very filling. We love the cheese curds here! They're homemade and so delicious! So good dipped in the ranch too. We got in and seated right away I think we got there just a bit before / around 530-6pm on a Monday. A few people in front of restaurant then no one back where we were seated. As we ate more tables filled up. We could hear the cook staff and see them making drinks at bar from our spot as well as the window for when the food was ready to go out. Super yummy veggie burgers made in house and customizable! I had mine as a Spicy Buffalo sauce veggie burger with Cajun fries and was very content. The serving size was pretty big and we couldn't finish so I'd recommend sharing fries and ordering your own burger. The Non-alcoholic drinks are pretty ordinary and I'd stick to water or soda. I ordered an Arnold Palmer that tasted like Lipton ice tea and heavily concentrated lemonade (admittedly I've become spoiled with all the fresh options in Oregon so this just wasn't the place to order one). The place was busy because it was game day. Even so, the food was delicious and the service was great.

When I was trying to plan my birthday, this was the second place my bestie had recommended. My husband had been wanting to try it as well. So when we had to pick up my mom's car nearby last night, it worked out perfectly. We went in last night around 6-ish. They were busy, but not packed. We were greeted in a reasonable amount of time. Not immediately, but it wasn't forever either. They gave us a choice in tables, which I didn't really care at first. One was bigger and had the Duck basketball game nearby. Once I realized this, that's where I wanted to sit. Our hostess wouldn't let us. Changed the channel on the other TV for us though. Our server was Kristine, although she didn't identify herself as such. I found out who she was based on my receipt. Her service was fine. It wasn't anything special, but I had no complaints either. Almost like it wasn't really memorable, if that makes sense. We ordered onion rings for an appetizer. I love the batter. It was light and super crispy. I ordered the French Dip and tater tots. I liked it. The au jus wasn't super salty, which I appreciated. Tater tots were fine. They could've been crispier, in my opinion. My husband had a Wild Bill Burger. It was huge, and really good. I can't open my mouth to take big bites, because I've had my jaw dislocated. My husband doesn't have issues like this, and still had trouble taking a full bite of this burger, it was that tall. So he ate at an angle. He said his fries were boring, RBI has I agreed with. They required ketchup or ranch to be appetizing. They also charge for any extra sides of ranch. I didn't see any parking lot attached to the restaurant. I tried a couple lots nearby for several businesses, but they were full. So we had to park two blocks down the road and walk down. Not my favorite thing to do, but at least it was relatively warm outside. The restaurant is right next to the rail road tracks. I find this annoying because the floor vibrates when the train goes by, plus the sound drowns out the ability to continue a conversation. Had the server let us sit where we originally wanted to, this may not have been so obnoxious. I don't know if this is less obvious in other areas of the restaurant. My husband called it a cozy neighborhood bar type atmosphere. Somewhere you want to go and hang out. Would I go back? Yes, and my husband said the same. I loved the burger my husband had, and my sandwich. Things I find annoying are being charged for ranch, and the train tracks 10 feet from my table and how loud they were. On a recent family visit to Oregon, we stopped off at Cornucopia. According to my cousin, an Oregon native, this is a must-try place when you visit Eugene. Well.... It didn't disappoint. Cornucopia is an unassuming little spot that is sort of hidden by the sidewalk tables and canopy, so you have to really look for it. The staff was very friendly, and the place looks like a regular ol pub. I ordered a regular cheeseburger and fries, my son ordered the blue cheese cheeseburger, and my cousin ordered the soft pretzel. Getting our food took a little longer than I'm used to, but I know that things move a little slower in Eugene, it's the price you pay for good food. And let me tell you, it was well-worth the wait! The burger was huge and it was absolutely delicious! There was minimal talking happening once our food came because we were all scarfing it down. Delicious food, good ambience, good price. Cornucopia is one of my favorite places to grab a burger & beer! They have 3 restaurants in the Eugene/Springfield area. The only one I've visited is the one on 5th street but I plan on trying their other locations. They're known for their burgers but they have a variety of items on their menu. On our recent visit, I ordered the Scooter's Patty Melt and my wife had a salad. The patty melt was very yummy and filling. This is the first time I try it, and I'd recommend it if you're looking for something with sautéed onions, Swiss cheese, and 1000 island dressing. If you're looking for a more traditional burger, I'd go for the Jeros Bacon Cheese! That one is sooo good. If you're feeling a little adventurous, go for the Aloha! A burger with grilled pineapple, beef patty, coleslaw, and teriyaki sauce? Yes please!!! My wife said the salad was good too, but I didn't get to personally try it. I really like this place because they have vegetarian and vegan options as well. Their beer selection changes every so often but there's always something good to try. The service here has always been great. The last time we went, there were a couple of things that didn't go so smoothly, but our server was attentive and made sure we were acknowledged and taken care of when possible. The way I see it, things aren't always perfect, but great customer service goes a long way in keeping loyal clients (especially during COVID times). This is a place I would recommend if you're looking for drinks and grub where you don't want to leave hungry. Their portions are good and their prices reflect that. They also have happy hour AND daily specials! Check out their website to find out what those deals are. Currently have indoor seating AND outdoor seating. Stopped by on our way back to CA. and chose this place over a few other choices, due to the Yelp ratings. Definitely picked right! We only had their burgers and the beef was so flavorful and juicy. I had the Big Boom Swiss and Shroom which had mayo, Swiss cheese and mushrooms. My friends had the Blonde Bomb & Wild Bill's Bacon BBQ. This is not the location to go to. Each time we go we get a waitress who takes forever, and never checks back. One time we went and it took over an hour before she even told us the kitchen was running slow. The last time it took over an hour for our food to come out and it came out wrong. I've had food from here three times now and I don't know why I keep returning; perhaps it's because each time I come back, I hope that their food will be better than last time because I want to like Cornucopia. The truth is that the food is not good and doesn't warrant the price that I'm paying. I've ordered my burgers medium doneness every time and they've always arrived dry and well done along with a dry, thick bun. There is no flavor. You could cook a better burger at home. Maybe five years ago, Cornucopia would have been considered better than average, but the food scene is constantly changing and expectations for delicious food and a good dining experience have heightened. Cornucopia doesn't deliver on the flavors or the dining experience but is charging the price of what you'd pay at nicer restaurant with a nicer bar. If you're looking for GOOD food, save your money and go to your local food truck!! This is my first and only review on Yelp. I am THAT disappointed lol! read more

Quick service, friendly bar tenders and great local beers on tap. The bar is small and crowded with a few of rowdy locals who were tying one on. I've only had cornucopia one other time a while back and I remember it being tasty, wish I could've tried it again today. Got seated (at a dirty table) and didn't have anyone come up to us once. Not even for waters lol they were seating new parties and giving them waters way after us. I'd be understanding if they were busy but the staff was just talking amongst themselves and standing there. Was excited to visit Eugene and assumed really awesome food in this college town, but found the bites here to be middle of the road. Not bad!, But nothing stand out. Sampled off of everybody's plates and the tater tot's, fries, Beef sandwich and vegan burger were decent but average. My chicken Cobb/chef salad was fine but it did irritate me that one beer and a salad for dinner cost me $25! A bit pricey and unexpected for this seemingly laid-back place. Nice waitresses and timely service. Appreciate the locally sourced efforts too but probably wouldn't return and pay the big bucks unless something really shifted with what the kitchen is up to. read more

We have been here several times before. The food is good and the service used to be ok. However, we came on after the Ducks destroyed the Buffs and sat at the bar. Initially bartender was fine. He made a few jokes about beating the Buffs and served us in a timely manner. Out of nowhere, he turned down right nasty as more patrons came in. A man sat down next to us at the last seat and ordered drinks for him, his wife and another friend. The bartender seemed annoyed and asked where the other people were (acceptable in a college town - fine). The man pointed them out. Bartender snapped back - "they need to be seated." He explained to bartender that they were waiting for a table. 30 min wait. Bartender makes drinks and basically throws them at man with his check. Man pulls out credit card and has in his hand. Man sees we are eating and tries to order an appetizer before closing out. Bartender gets extremely rude, grabs his cc and says,"no. You need to order that at your table." His tone was extremely rude. Man then says, "my kids are starving. Can I order some tater tots or something?" Bartender now shoves his check back at the man and says "I told you no. You must order food only at your table." (As we are all sitting there eating). Man leaves a 0'tip and closes out. Bartender picks up the receipt, looks at it and scoffs "of course" and the proceeds to tell all of the waitstaff. What did he expect? I'd have actually walked out and taken my family with me. There is NO place for that attitude towards paying customers. We paid and left as well to find another place to dine. I will never be back and do not recommend anyone else go. Stopped in for lunch on a 33 degrees and rainy Christmas Eve day... being from Hawaii - that is COLD!!! My friend told me the burgers were delicious, but the special of the day was any "cheesy" (grilled cheese - I chose the "awesome Katy's" roast beef grilled cheese sandwich), choice of tots, fries, or tomato soup and a drink (soda, juice, or BEER!) for $13.99. Again, being from Hawaii, I would have to pay $13.99 just for the beer! The sandwich was delicious and well, tator tots are always winning. Found this place when we went to Eugene Oregon during our road trip! The husband had a quarter pounder cheeseburger with sweet potato fries which he completely devoured and I had the mac & cheese with a side salad which was so yummy I had to finish the whole thing and then I waddled out of the restaurant! Had to eat outside but it was under a tent which was fine with us! Our server, Keifer, was extremely courteous and helped us find a lot of other places in Eugene that we wanted to see. Do stop by!
