We came to try their burgers based on yelp search of Best Burgers in Eugene. Our server Liev was really nice and informative. We asked which burger we should have but ended up ordering a different option. the CURD IS THE WORD 1/2 lb Burger. $20.95 Wisconsin fried white cheddar curds, bacon cheese sauce, frizzle onions & Frog's Wort Dijon on a pub bun. We requested the burger be split into 2, 1/4 lb patties to help distribute the flavors. The burger was impressive in size and appearance. I could have used more flavor on the burger patties or more bacon cheese sauce. The meat tasted a bit bland I added a couple shakes of salt which helped. The cheese curds were delicious and a fun topping. The burger comes with fries which appear to be beer battered. Very delicious. We will visit again to try a different burger. read more

It had been a while since I'd been to the Cornucopia and noticed they'd updated their menu. Usually I don't get past their burgers on the menu, but I made it to the House Favorite on the back page. So I went out on a limb and ordered the Veggie Polenta. My mistake was sitting outside by the vent from the kitchen. I was assaulted with the mouthwatering bouquet of their award winning burgers cooking. I began to question my decision under the relentless aroma of their burgers. Then the Veggie Polenta arrived. It was visually appealing. Cutting into the crisp polenta that was so creamy on the inside, with the perfectly seasoned veggies. The mushrooms, onions, spinach and tomatoes were not overcooked and so good! Delicious! It was an excellent choice! Also it would make a terrific appetizer to share! I got delivery, so I can't speak to the location. Sometimes i get so hungry, I can't pick a place. This was one of those days. I was in desperate need of meat protein, having not had much of it that day. What clinched it was the One Pound French Dip. I also got the Bavarian pretzel. Since it's a Bavarian pretzel, it's a little firmer than the soft pretzels you may be used to. It was still soft, though, and not dried out. The accompanying mustard with hickory bacon cheese sauce made it even better. That's a good dipping sauce for a lot of other things, too. But oh the French Dip sandwich. . .basically everything I wanted it to be, and not just because I was so hungry. Soft bread and delicious juicy roasted beef. It was good with or without the au jus. This location feels so private & fun! We came back for a birthday date night for my husband. I got the Philly cheesesteak and it was so good and huge! We got cocktails, beer, and cheese curds (you can't come here and not get them!) we love our meals here. We love coming here for a nice date night. This particular location is a renovated house converted to an interesting eatery packed with an eclectic assortment of knick knacks and decor. The atmosphere is very intriguing and promotes a wandering around just to see the various art, photos, hangings and signs. Let's not forget the colander lamp shades! The service is very friendly and accommodating, the restaurant itself is somewhat close but comforting. The menu was a bit of a surprise with the pricing, a bit high, but the food is good and portions are decent. We started with an onion rings appetizer that was very hot and crispy. The rings were thick and came with a dipping sauce, there are several to choose from. I almost went for the Philly, but then I saw the Mighty Quinn's Crispy Chicken sandwich. There are many unique and interesting names for their sandwiches and plates, I had to try the crispy chicken. It came on a Kaiser bun with some bacon, tomato, lettuce and mayo. There was also some pepper jack cheese that gave it a little spicy kick. The chicken was delicious in that it was moist, the batter was very crispy and not oily and the tender as a whole was quite large. I had to check as I thought there might have been two, but it was just one nice large tender. I opted for the battered fries over the cajun fries or tater tots. The battered fries are the way to go. The crunch is amazing, the flavor and thickness of the batter lends itself to a wide variety of sauces besides ketchup. Even though the menu comes with a mild sticker shock, the pleasant surroundings and nice neighborhood, good hot food, pleasant staff and interesting decor all makes for a good social lunch that is well worth it. read more

Friendly and attentive service. Not a fast food place, more leisurely pace than average. Go there with your out of town guests when you want to chat for a while. I go to the one on 17th but they have more than one location. It has a nice courtyard in back. On the side there is also a big picnic table. Haven't eaten inside...it's kind of dark in there. The basic cheeseburger was over-greasy, undercooked and the meat smelled funky and quite unfresh. The bun was untoasted Safeway-type white bread with excess mayo. Coleslaw was heavy and sweet - inedible by and large. A "vurger" salad was a boring assortment of dry stuff with the worst vinaigrette I have had. Something is seriously wrong in the kitchen here. The service was quite indifferent bordering on stoned. The atmosphere is in the style of cluttered, grimy, hippie hangout. $47 for a burger, a salad and a coffee. No thanks! I have no idea what sort of taste in burger the voters have but if this is the best burger in Eugene, the town is in serious trouble. Red Robin is light years better. They provide a wide selection of options although I will say there is some but not a lot for the gluten-free crowd. I went today and tried their newest addition to the menu with the salmon salad. It was good. They've even introduced a new dressing to the menu with the salad. Do I think the dressing is worth the extra $.75 -no. But that's me. Pros $5 kids menu all day Best burger in town-I'll fight someone over that. Great house pours. Each and every time. Cons Price. I'm not sure how a bowl of tomato soup is over $10. We went here while picking up a very generous donation to the Evans Valley fire department...thank you for that!! The food is amazing. The burger was delicious although it did have flour in the mixture so it wasn't entirely gluten-free, but they did have a gluten-free bun option and it was great.. the nachos were gluten-free and also delicious. Paul knows what he's doing! The back patio was really cool as it was the perfect day to eat outside and enjoy the sunshine. On our way back up the I-5 cooridor, we were craving some good eats. Eugene always has something cookin'! Cornucopia Restaurant has won a number of awards for their burgers, and as a top restaurant overall, why not give it a shot?! Swung by for a late lunch and left with very full and happy bellies! Paul, our waiter for the afternoon, was fantastic. He was friendly, gave great food recs and shared about the restaurant history. Pictures on the wall demonstrate their family vibe. Definitely enhanced our dining experience. We tried the Smuggler and the Ohana Keene burgers, and they were both amazing. Juicy, flavorful, unique, spicy, sweet, crunchy, soft... it hit every mark! It's easy to see why Cornucopia has won numerous awards for their burgers. Everything is homemade. Their ranch and buffalo sauce were awesome!! Stumbled upon this place on a day trip to Eugene. Very eclectic feeling when we walked in. Tons of character. Our server was very layered back and friendly and treated us like we were old friends. He gave us some hints on menu suggestions. We settled on a pair of side salads and a split grown up grilled cheese. For a Saturday afternoon snack. This was the perfect choice. My husband got the veggie burger and I got the curd is the word. I LOVED mine. I mean I was raised "Minnesconsin" so I firmly believe you can't go wrong with a Wisconsin cheese curd and this didn't disappoint. Cheesy and rich. Service was quick enough, very large menu, prices seemed fine to me for large portions and what seemed to be quality ingredients. All around very nice experience. After dropping off my daughter for school, we both had lunch here around 2 pm-ish on a Sunday. There wasn't much of a crowd and we had great service. I had the 1/4 pound Baby Blue burger with tots & Diet Coke and my vegan daughter had the 1/4 pound Angie's Vurger with fries. There was an option to make the burgers 1/2 pound as well. My burger was just okay with too little blue cheese and the patty was overcooked and not very juicy. The tots and my daughter's fries were very good and crunchy. They were the highlight of the meal. I like the décor of this place with so much to see on the walls and the old staff party pictures were pretty nice. There is a bar as well as tables for eating. I want to like this place! Locally owned, rich history, good food, full bar, a dive bar vibe that your grandma eats lunch at... it had all the hallmarks of a positive experience. Right up until I looked at the prices and twitched a little more at the final bill of $112 for 3 adults and 1 kid. That does not include a tip. Onion rings were $13. I was expecting the Lord's Crown of fried goodness... Nope. The Veggie Burger was $18! This is not a working class establishment and for those prices the burgers and fried things should have been AMAZING! They were not. Any Fuddruckers near any airport in the entire US has better. Seriously. WE had a little snafu on the drinks and the server, nice guy - very attentive, took care of it, but if we would have not sen it our bill would have been $134 before tip. I've come here before a few times and always liked it but the last two times I've gotten to come here with my kids, it's really made an impression. The size and capacity is just right. The waitresses are really aware and considerate. Some places in Eugene are more of a place for adults only and I like to respect that, and I always feel welcome here. My kids enjoy the food, as do I, but it's important they enjoy it too, and I get to relax and experience all the joy in the room. Everyone is having a good time! I haven't been to Cornucopia much lately- just a couple of times last winter. Generally the experience has been "meh." I went again tonight and the experience wasn't even that "good." What's more, they no longer offer a Reuben sandwich which was one thing on their menu that I've enjoyed there in the past. First off, a hobby horse of mine- they don't offer a lager of any kind on tap. Stella would be a nice choice. I had a red ale that was just OK, a bit hoppier than I prefer. And no, a pilsner is not the same thing. They were busy but not slammed. Service was prompt with the bare essentials covered but no checking back to see if the food was good, slow to ask about another beverage, etc. All of this was the usual meh. I ordered fish tacos and they were simply awful. First, the fish was not warm, which is an immediate tipoff that the breaded rockfish was probably not cooked on site, and certainly wasn't cooked to order. It was apparently a purchased prepared item that was frozen and supposed to be warmed up (or not in this case). It had a strong taste of freezer burn, was not quite up to room temperature, and for $21 I found it to be poor quality and a *terrible value.* This last point about value- Agate Alley has delicious fish tacos for something like $14. Lupita's tacos are outstanding for even less. Terrible decision to have them here. I am not likely to risk another meal here. While the patio is nice on a warm summer day, the beer doesn't work for me the food tonight was simply awful, and the Reuben which was a calling card for me, is gone. read more

With all the craziness currently impacting the food experience (lack of staff and product) I thought I would give a shout out to Cornucopia. I was that customer who decides she has a question so calls during dinner rush, but to my surprise I was greeted with understanding and politeness and an answer. Of course my situation made it so I had to take up more time and place my order on the phone instead of on their online system, but they didn't even flinch. I arrived to pick up my food and the same politeness, friendliness and true appreciation greeted me. Tater tots were clearly old and had been under the heating element too long. First 2 beer choices according to server were busted. We have been regular customers, going back many years. Maybe there has been new management or whatever, but both the quality of food, the atmosphere, and the genereal attitude of certain staff has declined. In particular there is an argumentative bearded guy who usually works behind the bar. When customers enter the establishment, he does not offer any hospitality but shoves the menus at them and tells there to go seat themselves somewhere. He is defintely unhappy to be working at Cornocopia and has no clue as to how toi treat customers and patrons. We will not return to Cornocopia at 17th & Lincoln as long as this dude is there. read more

The wait staff was pleasant but it took almost 30 minutes for lunch to arrive. The hamburger buns were thick and cold and tasteless.. I have no idea where these came from but Eugene is stocked with better choices. The lemonade was made from powder and barely drinkable.. I added tea when the waitress was carrying around refills for both so it became drinkable. In my opinions this place is just slightly overhyped. People like rave about it. It's good even really good but not quite sure it lives up to its reputation. For 20 dollars I got about a frozen dinner size portion of macaroni and cheese and some fries. Now this was probably the best Mac and cheese I have ever had, but for 20 bucks it's noodles cheese and bread crumbs like you can do a little bit better. Seriously tho best Mac and cheese ever and the fries are the best ones too like the ones at wetlands. Had a burger there one time and they put this seasoning that I didn't really like. I'm more of a salt and a pinch of pepper type when it comes to burgers. More spices doesn't always equate to more better food. Still a very good choice. read more

Always had very good food and service at the Cornucopia near Fifth Street Market. The Chicken Taco salad is so good I rarely order anything else (other than a cold IPA). Another positive: the large parking lot to the NE across the railroad tracks has reverted from some arcane cell-phone-assisted pay parking scheme to free three-hour parking. Among some friends the Cornucopia reputation is moderately too expensive. And, be forewarned, at our visit on May 21 we were charged an added three percent for paying with our Visa card.
