I get that they want to take advantage of the World Cup by pricing up the jerseys, but boy they really do want to milk tf out of it. They are selling replica jerseys that you could buy online for $60 more than the original price. But regardless of that, I wanted to buy a Korea jersey but also saw a Spain jersey that cause my eye. I asked the lady for the authentic version and she said they didn't have any and that all the Spain jerseys put on display is what they have. I asked how much and she said $150 with no nameset and $200 with nameset. Wow. Those prices are already crazy as it is. So as I'm going through the jerseys, I find an authentic one hidden in there and it says $150 on the tag. Ok fine, I'll pay your ridiculous $150 cause I do like it and wanted it quick. I put it up at the counter and keep looking for the Korea jersey. I found one and there is a $30 price difference between a XXL and a XXXL? I bring them both up and tell the lady how is the exact same jersey $30 off just because of size? I ask her if she can honor the $30 off as it's only 1 size smaller. She gives a mumbojumbo answer not fully agreeing but says if I see that tag that's the price. Ok, I tell her I'll take both jerseys if I can get the Korea one for $30 off. She agrees and all is good. Then she rings me up and as she's looking at the jersey she all of a sudden says wait nvm the Spain jersey is $200 actually. Wtf???!!?!! I told her how? You just told me it was $150 and the tag says $150. Funny, what happened to "if I see the tag price" lmao. She says because she didn't know that it was authentic so now that she's aware it's authentic it's an extra $50. I asked her how can she not know her own merchandise and try to take back her word of $150 plus the tag says $150? She says that due to demand and because of the World Cup it has to be $200. I tell her that's not good business to tell me one price and the tag to say it and for you to not honor it regardless of it being the World Cup or not. This is standard at even corporate stores. I try to negotiate with her and say that I'm willing to strike a deal where I'll take both jerseys for $250 flat. I basically said I'll take them both at original price and lose the $30 off the Korea jersey. She says no way and that she's not open to any negotiation. I explained to her that $250 is literally just $20 off what she's asking and no taxes. She says I don't care and that she's standing firm on $270 plus tax. At this point, she wasn't acting in good faith so I told her she can keep them both and I hope the owner is aware she's botching a deal where they could make $250 over a measly $20. She said that they're sure they can sell for asking price. I told her lady the World Cup is over in 1 week, your practice business in bad faith we and are trying to take advantage of your customers. I hope the owner reads this so I can say: get some employees who can conduct real business and trying to take advantage of your customers in such a gross fashion because of an event that's ongoing is disgraceful. Not honoring your original price and the tag on the price to try to profit an extra $50 is gross. You are not for soccer fans and should be blacklisted by real soccer fans. Have fun scamming ignorant tourists who fall for your crap.

After I had lunch with a friend of mine yesterday, I decided to stop by at this particular store in Van Nuys to check out the store, and if they had what I was looking for. Yes they did! I needed boxing gloves since I take a class, a women's sports bra in black, (was on clearance rack 50% off). Not too shabby. I also needed a folding chair that I can use to sit outside. I found the exact chair in the color that I was looking for. It was $15 NOT/including tax. It even has a cup holder which is a plus. I also needed a Foam Roller for my back. Got that too. Last, but not least, I needed 2 and half pound dumbbells. They had pink and black. I went with the pink color. That's all I needed from this store yesterday. Everything was nicely organized, got a very nice welcome from 2 of their employees, store was clean with decent sized parking lot, and they did have a bathroom. Love Big 5. They truly have anything & everything for all of your athletic needs. Go get what you need!!

The quality of items is solid, though the small light I purchased with a clip was the one item that didn't pull through for me as it didn't work after adding batteries to it several times, I did have other lights I had purchased from this location previously in the past that do still hold up well. Some items are locked on display like the headlamps, but you can find someone easily to assist you. Everything I was looking for I found and/or was guided to where it would be in this staple location just above Van Nuys Blvd & Sherman Way. They have an easy entrance parking lot and even when a little busier seem to keep things flowing from start to finish... Making this B5SG clear, clean and under control...
