I've definitely come in here at least 20 times and I've only bought shoes maybe once before today. I have a size 13 and it's hard to find the shoes I like but I go throughout the store searching the boxes. I'm always greeted and customer service is fantastic here. Today a employee mentioned the clearance section might have the size I'm looking for. I didn't want to but I went anyways and sure they're aren't a hit shoe and they've gone down in the demand for them. I bought a pair of white and black Adidas (Hoops 3.0) The lasting effect on me wins my loyalty to this business. Eddie, I'm not sure if that was his name but the cashier had a good attitude. Will never attempt to buy here again! Owner is rude and needs customer service skills, regardless of her 30 years there. I went to get a few things for my kids, so as I'm looking, the owner asked me what I needed, and asked to look at my daughter, to see what size she needed. She took me to the overalls where the size L were, and there were 2 mis placed items in that hanging rack which I brought up to her attention, so they could be placed in the correct rack, but I immidiately regreted telling her becuase she called out her employee, and with an upset tone asked her why she had hanged them there... Im thinking in my head " because she made a human mistake"... at that point she had already given me a bad vibe, then as I continued looking at the jackets, my 9 year old grabbed a squishy ball that was packed in sealed bag, the owner called her out from the register, in front of all the people there and told her not to touch it becuase it could pop (not in the nicest way), and made my daughter tear up as she was doing something terrible! I did not say a word at the moment but it made me upset, quite honestly because her tone was harsh and I found it uncalled for. What really did it for me is that she then kept talking to the people that were paying, about those squishy balls, and how they pop and bla bla bla... then I turned and told her that if she would had popped it I would have paid for it, and that she should be mindful of her tone, and the way she was calling her out. Quite honestly... why sell stuff that you are going to have a problem having a kid touching it and looking at it. My daughter is 9 years old, she was not mis behaving or making a mess in her store... just a normal curious kid (I probably would have bought the dam ball). Then my son came into the store with my husband, so I told him not to touch anything, and she turned and said that she did not want me to buy from her store, and literally took the items I had from my hands! So rude, unprofessional, and incosiderate for #1 to reprimand her employee in front of customers #2 talk in that tone to a customer, #3 to talk in that tone, in front of 2 kids. On 02/15/2025, I went to this local WSS with my gf and daughter to buy her new shoes. As we first entered, we were asked if we needed help with anything to which I replied no. Not more than 3-5 minutes later, while we were browsing, the same clerk came by again and asked if I needed help. I once again replied no thank you. A few more minutes pass and AGAIN, I am asked if everything is ok, if I need help. By this point I am becoming annoyed as I feel as if I'm being profiled. I kept my cool and once again said no. When I say profiled, I cannot say racially, as the area is heavily Mexican American/ Hispanic. This felt more like a personal profiling. After this, I was no longer asked. However, the same clerks continued to roam in the same aisles myself and my family were in, as well as in neighboring aisles while looking to be 'busy.' I did my best to not let this bother me, but felt it was quite unusual. I am in no way someone who would fit a profile of a lowlife thief. I dress appropriately, avoiding baggy pants and anything that looks 'cholo.' I had a nice button down and cargo pants on with skechers. I also never bald my head or have any tattoos. I know that that may sound like I am profiling, but being well dressed amd spoken shouldnt make it difficult for me to shop. ​​​My family was also dressed nicely as we are not of that influence. The final straw was when we got to the cashier. She looked through both shoe boxes as if she was some kind of inspector. She took minutes looking through the items, again to my great annoyance and indignation. I asked her if there was a problem with stealing in this location, to which she ignored. I asked again, this time more assertively, to which she stated that people do come in and swap shoes. Her answer made absolutely no sense though, as she could clearly see after just a few seconds, that the items were brand new. After all that, once my family and I were leaving, a worker just happened to be coming outside and took a long look at my car, perhaps even a photo. This to me is quite insulting as I am a person who makes a reasonable living, holds myself in a manner like a gentleman, and clearly showed that theft would never be my intention. There's nothing worse than having your own 'gente' profile you because you don't look like their typical 'cholo' customer. If their intent was to never get me to shop their ever again, mission accomplished. I've been to other WSS locations, and have never been treated this way. It's very clear that they have surveillance, and if I was doing anything foolish, then the 'extra attention would be warranted. I frequently patronize businesses in San Fernando as I like buying local, and from Latino owned businesses. It's unfortunate that the young snot nose employees here are robots, and harassed me so. My only intention was to get my daughter the shoes that she likes. Shame on this store for their harassment of myself, and by extension, my family. ​ read more

Today, I have to change my feedback about this store. I had given them two stars on my last review a few months back. But as I visited them today October 6, a young lady named Cynthia went above and beyond to help us. She was very informative about the products and helped us get a discount with my daughter's student ID. She was also very clear clear explaining how points are used. My daughter managed to quickly choose the shoes she wanted, there were staffers there that offered assistance with kindness and they talked to us about other products. Worst place ever. Customer service suck. Managers aren't helpful at all. I bought some shoes for my 4 year old son and the next day they soles were lifting. They won't exchange for another pair. I had couple of bad experiences with WSS , but the one that really annoyed me the most and the reason why I won't be back shopping at WSS was a jersey from LAFC. We got what we needed shoes for my 2 boys and a pair for my self , however when approaching the cash registers we noticed a clearance rack with a bunch of soccer jerseys and LAFC had a tag of $10.00 of course we picked couple for my children, when paying at the register the jerseys rang at $49.99 , told the manager they are $10.00, there's a rack full of jerseys not just 2 or 3 I would understand . He said NOPE they $49.99 each do you want them or not ? I said forget them and matter fact not buying anything and left the store . At the end of the day it was good that happened, because went to the Nike Clearance Store in Santa Clarita CA, and spend a little over $200 and got 2 pairs of Nike's for my children each, plus a pair for me , plus shirts , shorts , I couldn't be happier . I really wish I would have took down the girls name (thanks to yelp I know her name there is another review on here about her! her name is DIANA)but I took my mom to exchange her shoes. The girl in front was nice but she needed help and called a girl from the back I could already see attitude. She takes us and my mom explains to her what she needs and gives her a stupid look and says this is a gift receipt we both are like yeah we know that she says it again and says what do you want and my mom repeats that she needs a bigger size and shes like what do you want me to do show you where they are. Great place to buy shoes and they usually have good deals. With that being said, hope you don't try to return. We purchased a pair of shoes for our son. Once he wore them he noticed one was irregular larger than the other but marked the same size. Visually one is larger than the the other. I visited and made a purchase today at this location. Almost all employees were nice, my sister and I were greeted by a gentleman as we entered. Since we already knew what we were going to purchase we did not hesitate and only had trouble finding my sisters shoe size. We came across the box of her correct shoe size when we noticed one shoe was missing. We proceeded to ask one of the employees, unfortunately, that is when we had the unpleasant "assistance" of Diana, she was harsh and very difficult, my sister had asked her where she could find the other shoe, without any acknowledgment and a disturbing attitude Diana responds with "it should be the one on display", she was not trying to help us and she just returned to what she was previously doing when we had apparently interrupted her. My sister followed up with her question, and asked if she should just take the shoe that's on display, Diana gives my sister a dirty look and says "yeah" as in, "no shit Sherlock". She was definitely not in the mood. As we were in line, one of the cashiers was a bit backed up and that is when the gentleman who had initially greeted us paged Diana to help out in the front. LUCKILY, we didn't have the dreadful encounter with Diana again, because God Forbid I would've given her a piece of my mind. As she helped the other customer before me, I over heard her and overheard the cashier helping my sister. The DIFFERENCE in customer service, you could tell Diana wanted nothing more but to return to the back and not help customers and I'm certainly not one to stay quite, but for my sisters sake, I decided to keep my composure and not shop here again. Lately, I have been changing my wardrobe to fit my daily mood. I have a wardrobe that matches my work and my every day outings. I have been on the Red Feeling! So, I had to find some unique shoes at WSS in San Fernando. I have visited both Van Nuys and North Hollywood. I'll tell you what I bought there in their respected page. WSS is located on the south side of Mission Blvd. The main parking lot can get full, but there is supplemental parking on the other side of the street. During the weekends, it can be quite packed with others looking for stylish shoes. For me, I was willing to spend a pretty penny on some quality shoes. I saw some very expensive Nike RED shoes and it called my name! Thus, I had tried them on and I felt MARVELOUS! As I was about to checkout, there was a long line across the store. I thought there was an autograph signing that I wasn't aware of, but it was just a lot of people buying shoes. It almost felt like it was Black Friday or Christmas Eve. As I finally got to the counter, I checked in on Yelp and WSS participates on a $10 Off Coupon on the Yelp App. HOWEVER...a big HOWEVER, when the employee enters the code in, the $10 Coupon does not discount your shoes, it adds. Yup, the coupon that supposed to save you actually adds. I guess coupons these days backfire. Make sure it takes off $10 and not add $10. This will occur at most WSS locations and you may wait a little longer with the manager approval. I've bought some new kicks and I'm starting to look like some sort of SUPERHERO! However, I am attracting more attention than I thought at places I frequent. I've made some kids day thinking I was going to save the day, but I made their day :) I guess shoes will give you character and I think people will want me to save their day. Yelp! Horrible service!!! Do not shop here, bought a new pair of Js that cost $208. I get home and find that one of the shoes was a display model.
