Took two Hunter Douglas blinds that wouldn't raise anymore.. They were still under warranty.. I was told that Hunter Douglas charges $75 dollars shipping each way to have the blinds repaired but they have someone local who could fix them. When I went to pick them up they charged me $150 for repairs that I assumed would be covered by warranty. Called Hunter Douglas warranty department and was told they have no fixed rate for shipping. Sooo not happy with that. read more

This place will talk nice and do a horrible job not to mention destroying your appliances and not telling you. Do yourself a favor and avoid them like the plague. My dishwasher is scratched and the handle is broken and I had to hire a professional to get it working properly and set properly. The workers did not tell me they just left before I got home. While final work turned out nice, getting there was a nightmare. Even though we had a photocopy of all the tile specs in hand, the salesperson ordered the wrong tile. We had to have plumber pull kitchen sink before install, only to have wrong tiles arrive. Then had to wait wait days without sink and pay for sink reinstall. After three months finally got installation by competent installers who would do only what they wanted and not what we asked for. Nothing but hassel. Finally, the salesperson kept billing us repeatedly for restocking wrong tiles, even though it was her error. We will never go back there again. A promised three week project took three months and still getting billed. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service ever. Waited to ask a simple question about a new be sealers for over a half an hour and finally walked out. There was never even an acknowledgement that we were waiting. Not a soups spoke to us but there were plenty of people doing nothing and just talking to each other. The topper is the sign on the door that says no mask, no service. Yet inside, the person who appears to be in charge never once had his mask on. I will never darken there doorstep again. read more

I am so sad that Buddy sold this business to his employees. We used them several times pre-pandemic and the service was quite good. Now, without Buddy around there is no longer any level of service or courtesy. I wanted to purchase a set of roller blinds. I called and was told they did not handle the product I was interested in. There was no offer of an alternative - just tough luck, we don't sell what you want. I called back the next day and specifically asked to speak to someone about window coverings. I spoke to James. He said they were a Hunter Douglas Gallery and handled only that product. I told him the majority of our window coverings were Hunter Douglas so that was not a problem. I already researched the product on the HD website so I knew what I wanted. I gave him the dimensions of what I needed, the fabric I was interested in and the hardware choices. He told me I had to come in personally to get a quote. I told him I just needed a simple quote based on the specs I give him. He quite rudely refused to offer any assistance unless I made an appointment to come in to the store. I called one of the other HD Gallery's in town and the salesperson was impressed that I had done my research and knew exactly what I wanted. I got a written quote from them by email later that same afternoon. I should have read the recent negative Coronado Yelp reviews before I wasted my time calling them. Coronado is NOT what it used to be when Buddy owned it. The negative Yelp reviews are accurate - condescending, rude, lazy in-store customer service. Stay clear. read more

Terrible customer service. Unless, you fight with them, they refuse to stand behind their product or installation. After reading the reviews, I can confirm that I had a similar experience. The staff can be condescending. Our salesman refused to stand behind the product, insisting that what happened to us had never happened in all his years of installing blinds. They finally did send someone to look at our blinds and found that they had been installed incorrectly. But it was a fight to get them there. I would never use them again. read more

Unfortunately, two recent jobs with Coronado have had difficulties that were avoidable. Expensive shades for both sliders & windows came with pulls on the wrong side which mean time and stress to have replaced. Carpet layer chipped tile and tried to cover it up with grout. Finally, after 3 1/2 weeks, the tiles were replaced and carpet on step riser reinstalled. This was time consuming and very stressful to a client who only wanted the job done right the first time without having to argue with Coronado people to get things fixed. Yikes! read more

This really is the go-to place for paint and other home materials in Santa Fe. Because they are closed on Sunday, I've occasionally gone to ACE Hardware and even Home Depot (gasp!) for paint and I am always sorry. The paint department staff are crack mixers and I've also bought flooring and window shades. read more

Condescending company. Very snooty and judgmental. We received bad customer service and attitude from two men in blind department. It wasn't until we showed him a picture of our house that their attitude changed and we became 'good enough for them'. We bought shades from them & had to have them "reglued" within a week. Then bought tile & Delores picked out grout without asking - it was horrible! I needed to have my handyman redo all the grout. Last straw today: we had windows measured for shades (paid $50) while waiting to look at a book of designs that they had lent out. Called & said book was in but then 10 minutes later book was out again. Called again & said book was in & Delores would save for me. Went there today & nook was still out! We greatly regret not trusting our "gut" feeling when we entered Coronado Paint & Decorating. We received minimal assistance and felt rushed to pick out flooring samples because the store wanted to close. We were assigned a primary point of contact (POC) who never showed up at our home during the 1900 square foot project. Before the project was completed, the POC demanded full payment. The installation (subcontracted out) was so bad that we had to hire another flooring company to provide consultation. Despite providing numerous photos to the owner of Coronado, he concluded that the installation was acceptable, and collecting payment before the job was completed to pay subcontractors was their standard business practice. He accused us of wanting to pull up the floors after only 4 months to install radiant heat - as though we liked the idea of tearing up our entire home remodel and spending a fortune. What an insult! Stay away--there are other companies who have experienced installers, provide consultation, and don't require payment in order to pay their subs before the job is completed. read more

I selected Coronado because there are very few competent carpet and tile places in Santa Fe - and this isn't one of them. I sent a tenant in to select a carpet and a paint color. Tenant gave me the name of the sales person she taked to, the carpet name and the Benj Moore paint swatch she selected. When I went into Coronado with that info to make the arrangements (Lawrence had already measured the job) I had with me the name of the sales person, the carpet name and the Benj Moore paint swatch. Steve and Kathy said no one by that name worked there and they did not lift a finger to find the carpet by the name given to my tenant. Steve was more interested in his burrito than the customer standing in front of him. But Kathy suggested my tenant come back Saturday morning. When my tenant walked in Saturday morning, the oaf by the front door said he knew nothing about the "deal" and did not even attempt to show my tenant any carpet samples. Tenant walked out exasperated. Yes, I know it was Buddy Roybal's Coronado Carpet, because that is the only store on Cerrillos Road that does carpeting and sells Benj Moore paint. Thanks Buddy Steve and Kathy. Your rudeness is only exceeded by your ignorance. read more

My husband I have done business in the past with this store with satisfactory results. However, I had a bad experience recently. After waiting very patiently to see the blind salesman, he approached me and got uncomfortably close, into the personal space area. I had to move away from him in order to explain my problem. After hearing my request, and hearing that I didn't buy my blinds at their establishment and not wanting to deal with such a small thing as brackets, he proclaimed loudly that I should go back to the place I bought my blinds to buy the brackets. I did speak to the owner/manager, and he assured me that there would be a notation made about the rude way his salesman treated me. I redid my house with carpet and blinds.Knowledgable sales person and seamless purchase and installation.

We ordered shades for master bedroom windows in the beginning of June, 2013. After several attempts, the shades were finally installed at Thanksgiving. They were still incorrect, however we accepted them and changed the metal brackets ourselves. Trying to get the shades ordered correctly, installed correctly and dealing with Coronado was a nightmare!! read more

I found the staff to be helpful and the service to be prompt. By the time one drives to a big box store, tries to find someone to help, waits in line for the paint, and then to check out, any price savings seem miniscule. A nice local place to do business. Found the staff very helpful on several occasions. Bought some paint there a couple of years ago, and was so pleased with the attention to detail (as well as the help they gave) that they were my first choice when I had to replace some linoleum after a busted pipe. Their installer came when they said he would (on a Saturday, since I work during the week) and did a great job.
