My son chipped his tooth on vacation in San Diego. We were able to get seen the same day and came back a few hours later to repair it. The staff was very kind. They were very gentle with my son and explained everything to him during the procedure. They were able to keep him calm and at ease. It's hard to pick the right dentist during an emergency away from home and this was definitely the right call for us. Dr. Rachel also put in effort to ensure the repair matched his original smile and was patient. Her staff sent us all x rays and documents so we could follow up with our regular dentist back home. Clean, convenient, and friendly location. We were able to get in quicker than expected. Scheduling is a breeze and the front desk is always courteous and professional. We did feel rather rushed during the cleaning and examination. I was surprised at the outdated methods and grittiness post cleaning. They're okay for routine exams and cleanings. For my first time, I waited 30 minutes after the cleanings were done by the dental assistant before my kids were finally seen by the dentist. The dentist finally saw my kids and had me schedule another appoint for one of my kids because she saw cavities on the x-rays. I made the follow up appointment and the dentist had a different assistant who was rude at times and impatient because my child started crying during the procedure. The dentist ran out of time and I had to come back to finish one of the procedures because they kicked us out of the room since their next patient had arrived. If they are this busy then they need more than one dentist available or space out the appointments better and also be more patient with kids who cry. I will not be going back, my children deserve better treatment. read more

Took our 2 year old in for his first dentist appointment ever. It was the best place we could have gone. My son was scared and kept calling for Daddy but I was allowed to hold him while the dentist cleaned his teeth and inspected everything. She was very informative on helping know what we should expect as parents when getting our children through the daily dental routine. Amazing. Best dentist office we have ever been to! The office space themed and right when you walk in, there is an iPad station in planet Saturn for the kids to play. There are TVs in the ceiling so they can watch during their exam, and a really cool futuristic light game on the wall. Before we even went upstairs to the office, we were greeted by a blackboard sign we,coming my son to the practice! He was so excited to see his name and felt really special. The whole staff is so friendly and happy, everyone has a very welcoming attitude and constant smiles! It says a lot about a practice when the whole staff is happy and cheerful and clearly loves their jobs. Dr. Dixon was amazing! He let me watch him perform the exam and guided me through each step. He explained everything in such detail and made things easy for me to understand. He was very friendly, professional and so good with my son! They even took a Polaroid of him and put him up on the New Patient wall for us to see on our way out. He said he felt famous! He did NOT want to leave and was very excited to hear that his next appointment would be in 6 months instead of a year. Everyone should bring their kids here, ESPECIALLY if they have any fear or anxiety about the dentist. It's fun for the parents too, we can't wait to come back! Love love love! read more

I was extremely anxious for the sedation of my twin daughters to get their dental work done, however, the staff called me several times (martha and ana) to ensure i followed directions for the children and reminded me that the anesthesiologist will call me as well. With all the media posts about a few children dying because of general anesthesia, I was extremely nervous, but rest assured they are not doing it just for thr money. I can't express enough my LOVE for this practice. My son is 15 Months old and as you know with young kiddos, keeping them contained is nearly impossible. Needless to say, they didn't mind one bit that he was running around and exploring. One of the staff members sat on the ground with him and played with him too! It warmed my heart how sweet they were and how much they genuinely cared about him already. Dr. Dixon did a fabulous job of doing a quick and very thorough exam. He gave great recommendations and tips for how to wrestle with a toddler to brush their teeth. The office space was decorated AMAZINGLY. I have a pet-peeve of cheesy children cartoon designs and this office was the exact opposite. So much to see and look at with a Space theme and SO many interactive things for kids to do while they wait! It even kept me occupied, haha! My 5 year old son loves going to the dentist! He's been to Coronado Pediatric Dentistry a few times now. He's seen both doctors, and each visit and every part of the experience was positive for him - from waiting for his appointment, to his cleaning, to his exam, to choosing a prize at the end... he even made it through the x-rays! (Those were a little tricky, but no big deal once he got the hang of it.) There are TVs the kids can watch while they are in the dentist's chair, and there are games they can play while in the waiting room. The staff is professional and the atmosphere is very kid-friendly (very cool outer space theme). My son honestly didn't want to leave. Can't imagine how it could get any better for a kid going to the dentist. read more

The dentist herself seemed on the young side but I was pleasantly surprised how knowledgeable she was. Awesome experience, I finally found a Dentist for my daughter. Professional, helpful, and gentle. Dr. Megan did really well educating my daughter and calming her anxiety down. My daughter is scared of Dentist because of her first experience when she was 6 y/o. She was traumatized that every time we talk about her teeth tears just falls on her face. It's been 3 years and still she remember everything. Getting a dental appointment for her is hard and finding a Dentist that I can trust is also hard with all ripped off dental works that sometimes it doesn't make sense anymore.
