We recently dined at Corridor Z on Jekyll Island and had a mixed experience. The location is great and beautiful, but has obviously allowed for subpar food. First, I want to recognize our waitress, who was friendly, attentive, and did her best to take care of our table throughout the evening. Unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations. I ordered the blackened shrimp, and several of the shrimp appeared undercooked. Additionally, the veins had not been removed, which was disappointing, especially at a restaurant in such a popular tourist destination. I also ordered an entrée salad. When it arrived, it was the exact same size as my friend's side salad, making it difficult to justify the entrée price. Later, when our waitress checked on us, I asked for additional dressing, but she returned and informed me that the kitchen had already closed at 8:30 p.m. and could not provide any more. Two members of our party ordered smash burgers. The burgers arrived without the lettuce, tomato, and onion listed on the menu and without any condiments. After they asked about the missing toppings, the restaurant brought them out, but the "lettuce" looked more like wilted spinach and was not fresh. While the service was very good, the food quality, preparation, and attention to detail left a lot to be desired. We arrived with a party of 3 (me,my daughter and my mother). We arrived at 7:30pm the host was nice and personable. We were told our table should be ready at 8:00pm so we decided to wait. The restaurant was very busy. We were seated at 8:05. The restaurant was closing at 8:30 and we were informed as long as we were on the list we were going to get feed so we didn't need to stress. We ordered our food with our drink order to kind of move things along.Our waitress was nice. Although I asked for lemon for our waters and didn't get it until after our food came and I had to remind the waitress we needed it. There were still people coming in that were on the waiting list to be seated at 8:30pm. A lot of tables were just waiting for food. We got our food at 9:00pm we waited a whole hour which was crazy to me. My daughter got the kids fried fish she absolutely loved it. My mother and I ordered backend Mahi sandwiches. My fish on my sandwich was small compared to the fish on my mother's plate. I thought the size was totally off. I mean shouldn't they at least be about the same size. I took a pic of both the difference was crazy. My mother didn't have tartar sauce so we had to wait for that as well. We spent about 3hours total at the restaurant which is totally unacceptable. The ambience was a beach bar feel had some tv's they had it on the sports channel. It was good the tv's were the so we could watch tv while we waited an hour on our food.The food wasn't very hot like it seemed like it had just been sitting waiting on someone to bring it to our table. My mother also ordered potato salad which had a long hair in it. We told the waitress and she brought my mother a new one. I also asked for a side of fried shrimp and never received that either. I'm not sure if the waitress for hot or what but I never said anything because we had already waited an hour and I just wanted to eat and get out of there. When we first arrived I was excited to try the food but after waiting so long and being disappointed in a few things I was no longer excited to be there I was really bummed things didn't go well. read more

We enjoyed a dinner here while vacationing on Jekyll Island. I really wanted some fried fresh Georgia shrimp and having just missed the love shack nearby as they closed at six on Monday, we tried out Corridor Z instead. We sat on their patio space overlooking the dunes and palm trees and it's a nice setting. We had a good and polite waitress and I had a mai tai from the bar- strong! I got the fried shrimp with grits and Mac and cheese- everything was good but I would say across the board, an increase in salt would hurt nothing. After being seated we waited about 15 minutes for a server despite letting someone know that no one had been over to our table. We ordered chicken ceasar wraps, soup, and appetizers. The soup was cold. The chicken ceasar wraps had some odd tasting dressing that was nothing like a traditional ceasar, were also somewhat cold, and completely soggy/falling apart. Service remained slow and we sat with dirty dishes on our table while waiting for our bill for entirely too long. Cannot recommend. read more

The service was friendly and quick. My sandwich was okay. Seemed a bit skimpy and didn't blow me away. It is all way overpriced for what is being served. $3 for my soda. $3 for my kid's orange juice. We were looking for a restaurant near the water and we ended up here. It was a beautiful day, so we sat outside on the covered patio. Bad idea as the no-see-ums were out in full force. I decided to have the wild Georgia shrimp with sides. The shrimp were the best part of the plate. Lightly battered and tasty. The Mac and cheese had very over cooked pasta, and sat in a pool of butter (not in a good way). The baked beans were ok but not as ok after a few bites. The hush puppies were terribly over cooked. I also had the Pepino de Margarita. It came with a tajin rim-it did not say that in the description and it was not a good addition. There were muddled cucumbers in the drink and they clogged the tiny straw that was provided for the drink. The staff was friendly. OK, stuff like that happens ... but then the server fled without a word and we sat there for 10 minutes until I finally went to the kitchen to ask for towels for her to dry off. Shortly after that, the manager came by and directed someone to mop up the puddle we were in ... but didn't even bother to say one word to us, much less apologize -- nor did anyone else during the course of our meal ... and the bill, once it arrived was in full, with an automatic 20% gratuity added. I put corridor Z on our Jekyll island list of potentials and we were thrilled to find out that it was 200 steps from our hotel! The service was fantastic! I believe our servers name was Jana, and if I spelled that wrong & got it mixed up then I apologize. She's been with the company for a long time and her dedication to customer service is apparent. She was proficient and proactive! We started with some fun cocktails, my gf got the spicy mint marg & I had the banana mudslide slushie. Both of them were fantastic. The marg was light and crisp & mine was hearty without being too heavy! My friend chose the fish tacos & I selected the shrimp poboy. The tacos were so fresh and absolutely delicious. Paired perfectly with the spicy marg! The poboy was equally as delicious with the perfect amount of blackened seasoning. We will absolutely return during our next Jekyll getaway! read more

I wish I had taken some pictures of our food as it was all excellent! From the shrimp and grits, melt in your mouth salmon to the hibachi vegetables. And, our waitress was the best! My mother ordered the shrimp and grits and said it's the best she's ever had. She said the shrimp was very fresh and tasty! I would also have to say my salmon was the best I ever had. Chef's kiss! It was the most buttery piece of salmon. It literally melted in your mouth. The hibachi vegetables were good however, I think a little less cook time would have made them a tad better. Stayed on Jekyll Island for a night and went here for dinner. A stones throw from the Atlantic Ocean. The menu has lots of seafood options and my wife and I chose to split a fried shrimp and oyster dinner with Mac and cheese and fries. The shrimp were big and fried to perfection and the oysters were plump and juicy and fried to perfection as well. However the fries and Mac and cheese were both a disappointment. The fries were not hot and they were limp and the Mach and cheese was not hot and lacked flavor and was oily. This being said I would not hesitate to go there for the seafood. read more

For a main, I had the blackened red fish (fish of the day), which was prepared flawlessly. Happy that one of the side options was asparagus, a nice change from some of the greasier sides I have been eating. While you can't see the water, there are great views of the dunes, palm trees, and sky from both indoor and outdoor seating. The atmosphere is a lacking. The walls are pretty bare and the tables and chairs remind me of a cafeteria. The service was okay. They weren't that nice or professional but were quick, with the acceptation of drinks, which the bartender apparently had to look up how to make - a bit surprising considering we ordered drinks straight from the menu. Speaking of quick, the food was super fast... like fast food fast. This, along with a few other clues, suggests that the food is all premade and simply reheated or refried. The taste was underwhelming. The crab cakes weren't bad, but were lacking in flavor. The slaw was exceptionally bland. The hush puppies were exceptionally hard (like you couldn't stab with a fork or cut with a knife hard), likely from being fried a couple of times. The grits were okay but lacked seasoning. The signature cocktails lacked flare, largely falling flat. Overall, there is potential. With new management and fresh vision, this place could be great. Until then, it's kind of "Ehh." read more

The food was great! I tried the crab cakes, salad with homemade blue cheese dressing, and the pineapple upside down "cake." Everything was delicious. A pineapple upside down muffin cannot be as moist as an upside down cake but it was still tasty. Don't miss the blue cheese dressing nor the hibachi veggies. Crab cakes were crispy and tasty too. The service, atmosphere, and the view made it that much better. I did notice that the owner repeatedly walked by me to ask a large party if they were happy. Very disappointed. This was our 4th time after moving to the area. Usually we sit at bar but this time we had family visiting so sat at table. The bartender and service was sitting at the first table when we walked in which seemed odd as guest first entering. It was very slow. Then we had to wait 10 minutes for a drink, and not only once but the second time we almost walked out. The food was very disappointing for the money. The seafood served was very small and cold. Unfortunately I don't think we will be coming again which is unfortunate since we come to the island at least once a week. Not a fan. read more

When on the island we will patronize Zachry's and have never had a bad meal or experience. Since Zachary's is closed on Tuesday, our waitress told us to check Corridor Z out. Upon arrival, conveniently located to the "hotel row". Parking was okay. The young lady had just started she was nice & learning, she wanted to give a good experience. The kitchen was forgetting a lot of items from what we heard others complaining on from the patio. I had oysters, shrimp tacos and thought I'd try the crab pup's which are crab filled hush puppies... supposedly. There was NO crab meat. I asked the gentleman training the young lady and he became almost defensive that they put crab in there but it bakes into the crust... he then was able to remove them and I sent them back.
