    Broccoli Alfredo
    Francesca M.

We were visiting Jekyll island for Christmas, they ended up having a limited menu for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (understandably) the chef (Mike) knew that we had a vegetarian diet and the limited menu was not accessible for us. He made us a special dinner (without us asking) it was pasta with marinara and black bean meatballs and broccoli Alfredo. The food was delicious and it was so sweet for him to make sure we had a delicious meal that accommodated our diets. Great service and very dog friendly as they allowed our dog to dine with us. The dining area is very nice and they have a patio.

Food was good. Drinks were excellent. Waitresses was absolutely amazing. In the lobby of the hotel so a bit loud but not too bad.

Located in the lobby of the Courtyard/Residence Inn on Jekyll. The hotel charges you a $20 resort fee per day which you can recoup $10 of it by eating at the restaurant, so we did rather than drive around. We had read the reviews and figured we'd give it a shot. There was quite a line and wait when we got there but because we'd made reservations we were seated right away ... but it was in the lobby area of the bar so it felt a little weird. They were very short staffed (only the manager and two waitstaff) but since we've both waited tables we are patient. Drinks were decent, although we weren't originally given a drink menu and they didn't have the ingredients for my first two choices. Dinner (shrimp and grits and a mahi sandwich) was good but our appetizer came out after. We got the seafood queso dip/chips. Kinda wished we hadn't ordered it as the queso was super runny but had some tasty seafood and andouille sausage in it. Our waitress was a little shook by the drink issues, lack of silverware, and our late arrival of the appetizer, but again we understand and hopefully made her evening easier rather than more difficult. All the staff did a great job with the circumstances. Would choose it again as the hotel had everything we wanted, so why leave? We did wait a bit for our food so completely forgot to take pictures!

Thank you Kendall and Olivia! They were ours servers for the weekend and they were more than attentive! We had some menu changes and accommodations they were more than happy to make and the food came out just right and delicious. It's a great casual eat, relaxed type of place, for lunch a quick bite or casual dinner. They were quick to seat us and checked in on us just the right amount of time! Olivia remembered our order and Kendall made us really feel cared for during our stay! The grounds are maintained well and the environment is very relaxing!

Food was very tasty and service was good. Had the happy hour special fish tacos blackened grouper and the fried green tomatoes, also the mahi mahi sandwich.

Ate at the shore quite often on a week long stay on Jekyll. I think it was four times, since we were staying at the hotel it was very convenient. Enjoyed the food, I had the Mediterranean power bowl, grilled shrimp appetizers which was so so so good, I had a salad one evening with shrimp, and also the pasta bowl with shrimp too. I'd go back for the shrimp. Husbands food was good all the times we ate there except the pizza, which he said was like cafeteria pizza. Ordered drinks each time and we had a male bartender who made the best drinks- honestly a stiff drink that was perfection and he was super fast. One evening we had a very short female bartender that was horrible, she basically ignored us as we tried to order some food after a drink. We actually saw her let another customer come behind the bar and pour her own booze. Bizarre. Other than the pizza and the bartender we loved the shore! Thanks!

The best meal I had my entire stay in Jekyll. Do not skip the pork chop. It was amazing. Fantastic service, too.

Awful service. Best advice is to bring your own groceries / booze to the hotel and avoid restaurant.

First, I want to recognize our waitress, who was friendly, attentive, and did her best to take care of our table throughout the evening. Unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations. I ordered the blackened shrimp, and several of the shrimp appeared undercooked. Additionally, the veins had not been removed, which was disappointing, especially at a restaurant in such a popular tourist destination. I also ordered an entrée salad. When it arrived, it was the exact same size as my friend's side salad, making it difficult to justify the entrée price. Later, when our waitress checked on us, I asked for additional dressing, but she returned and informed me that the kitchen had already closed at 8:30 p.m. and could not provide any more. Two members of our party ordered smash burgers. The burgers arrived without the lettuce, tomato, and onion listed on the menu and without any condiments. After they asked about the missing toppings, the restaurant brought them out, but the "lettuce" looked more like wilted spinach and was not fresh. While the service was very good, the food quality, preparation, and attention to detail left a lot to be desired. Based on this visit, we would return for the service, but not for the food.

We sat on their patio space overlooking the dunes and palm trees and it's a nice setting. We had a good and polite waitress and I had a mai tai from the bar- strong! I got the fried shrimp with grits and Mac and cheese- everything was good but I would say across the board, an increase in salt would hurt nothing. A little bit pricey as most venues on Jekyll Island are- but we enjoyed our meal and especially the very nice setting.

Nice market with a good selection, but very pricey. Per many other reviews, my husband and I both had fried shrimp. It was excellent. He got the large platter and could barely eat it all. The regular platter was very plentiful. He got sweet potato fries as his side - excellent choice. I went wrong with my side - Mac n cheese. It was homemade and OK. To me it was like a very creamy and very cheesy Kraft with added pimentos. But to be honest , I make a killer southern mac n cheese and am pretty picky. So it is probably totally fine for most folks. We did have to wait quite a while for the food. We got there just 15 minutes before closing. There were a couple folks that had just ordered and were waiting. Then when I meandered through the whole store and came back twice to find it was still in process, I found out that someone had called in an huge order for 10-12 people just 15 minutes before closing. Amazing that people do things like that. Anyway, the staff was nice, patient, accommodating and doing the best they could. We weren't in a hurry. I just felt bad for them trying to get closed. Will definitely rely be back when we visit again.

I got on Yelp and saw some great reviews for a lot of restaurants in the area and the love shack did stand out to me. I walked around and looked at the cute shops and walked into a little market. Well, as it turns out that was the location of love shack barbecue! There was a very kind lady and a son or other family member in the back and she was so helpful in helping me select what to eat. I really just wanted some Brunswick stew and cornbread, but she advised if I got the shrimp platter that Brunswick stew came on the side and then I could have cornbread as well. I absolutely loved the Brunswick stew, it had all sorts of good vegetable vegetables in it, but was also very thick. The cornbread was so sweet and moist. The fried shrimp were solid, I couldn't finish them all just because they were very fried, but I enjoyed them. As I was waiting for my food to be prepared, (it only took about five minutes) I enjoyed walking around the little general store. It was everything from up stay up scale gift items to bakery to a grocery store where you could buy alcohol to a beach shop, it was a really great place. I took my meal to go and sat outside. The lady had advised not waiting too long or the shrimp would get soggy.

There were some great options which made choosing difficult, but we tried the biscuits and gravy (go ahead - get 2 biscuits!) and the fried chicken and biscuit. Both were great! It was perfect whether I was eating alone or with other people. The atmosphere was warm, friendly, and comfortable, and it really did feel like stepping into a cozy Irish pub. The servers were wonderful, the bartender was great, and everyone around us seemed happy. The food was fantastic. I had the steak and cheese hoagie, and it was made with real steak. The peppers and onions were absolutely amazing, and the whole sandwich was one of the best I have ever had. I also had the shrimp and grits, and they were the best I have ever had--ever. They were savory, rich, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. You can tell the chef cares deeply about both quality and presentation. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and generous without being overdone. One of my friends had the drunken chicken salad, and it was marinated and cooked perfectly. I saw several dishes come out while I was there, and I never heard one complaint from anyone. The desserts were also incredible. The butter cake was rich, had a beautiful texture, and was drizzled with raspberry sauce. I also tried the bread pudding after hearing people talk about it, and while the presentation surprised me at first because it was cut into little cubes, the taste was absolutely wonderful. I only got one picture, of my shrimp and bread, because everything else disappeared before we remembered to take photos. That probably says it all. There are a lot of places to eat on Jekyll Island, but Wee Pub is absolutely worth it. It is right across from the convention center on the corner, and I would go back in a heartbeat.
