We came to Corso to celebrate my friend's birthday. We all love happy hour so tonight we killed two birds with one stone. You can't beat happy hour vibes and birthday celebrations in one visit. Talk about a win win! I was that weird customer and got here exactly at 3 when they opened. To be honest with you, I loved that I got to spec out the bar area before everyone showed up. I got to appreciate the beautiful richness of the bar. It's just stunning. The red just makes the vibe sexy, mysterious and romantic. The tables were all beautifully lit with table lamps. I see people just falling in love with each other over a romantic cocktail here. I didn't really check out the dining area but if the bar area is this romantic, I can only imagine the other half of this joint. Cameron took care of us tonight. While I was waiting for the others to show up, I got myself a coke zero and chilled. I did peep out the menu and of course the happy hour menu. I knew we were in for a real treat. After the girls showed up, an old fashioned and a couple glasses of wine were ordered. And of course we got some food started! Oysters, fried caprese and shrimp cocktail. I know this food line up was going to be banger. One by one our food was coming out. Each appetizer was prettier than the plate before it. The shrimp cocktail was elegantly plated. The fried caprese was delicately garnished with herbs, tomatoes and a balsamic glaze. The oysters looked like they were just brought from the ocean fresh. Presentation was on point. I had to pass on the oysters. I don't eat oysters but I also can't have it cause of the new kidney. But from what I heard, the oysters were fantastic. I started off with the fried caprese, so good! The bread crumbs on the outside were savory and crunchy. The mozzarella in the middle was creamy and slightly melted. With the tomatoes, herbs and glaze in each bite...... wow. The ultimate flavor combo! Sweet, salty, cheesey and crunchy. To only have was hard cause I could have polished all 4! The shrimp cocktail was perfectly halved. Sprinkles of capers and microgreens added some earthy tones to the plate. I appreciate that they were sliced in half. It was easier to eat. I was able to cover each slice with some cocktail sauce. There was a nice heat from the horseradish that wasn't overwhelming. Enough to tickle your nose but not make you blackout. The fresh bread did make an appearance while we were eating. Better late than not getting fresh bread at all! The bread was out of the oven warm. I took a nice piece and slapped some butter on it. Fresh bread and butter will always be the best combo. I love the saltiness from the seasonings on top. It was soft, warm and crusty. I could have came here for a huge chunk of warm bread and left happy. That bread was killer. Cameron was great and got my friend, Laura a piece of limoncello cake for her birthday. Laura saved me a chunk of that slice of heaven. I was outside on a phone call when they started working on it. Grateful my friend was kind and shared her cake with me. Woooooooooww. We were making jokes about saying it would be our birthday every week so we can come in for limoncello cake. It was the perfect dessert to end our meal. I'm so happy we got to come in tonight. Food was chef's kiss. Cameron did a marvelous job taking care of us girls. The venue is absolutely gorgeous. And I loved how diverse the crowd was. The vibe was truly one of a kind unique. I look forward to coming back with my husband and having a romantic dinner here. Just love this place. The whole vibe inside is amazing with all the black and red. Reminds me of a classic dinner club. The food was quite good and several things on the menu you don't see in Boise. I started with the shrimp and calamari Fritto Misto. It's fried seafood with some deep fried onions and red peppers. It was good, but not really much for $18. (Come during happy hour when it's 12.). Then I had a steak sandwich with Parmesan fries. It says it's hanger steak. Was very tender meat with pesto sauce on the ciabatta bread. Not much else on the sandwich and not enough sauce. Thin, shoestring type fries covered with garlic parsley, and lots of shredded Parmesan cheese. The service was outstanding. Even though Emma was busy, she helped me and explained the menu to me. This has got to be at least the fifth or sixth time this building has changed. It's quite fancy looking yet dark inside. And prices seem to go up every time. But it's a very good food and happy hour deals look good. I was there at the wrong time though. read more

I wanted to really love this place but I struggled. A newer steak house sort of in an odd location off of broadway. The vibe is a very cool almost like old age vintage type of feel. I will say the murals are kind of poorly painted but they trained their best to paint stars of the roaring 20's. Now for the food, I came with a part of 5 for a birthday dinner. It happened to be happy hour which had GREAT deals and good cocktail selections. The steaks we ordered were cooked perfectly but the sauces were awful. We order every single sauce the rest isn't makes... the Peppercorn, the bearnaise, a traditional BBQ steak sauce, a mushroom sauce, and the horseradish. All of them were pretty dang terrible. I'm used the the sauces coming out warm and all of the sauces were freezing cold. That could just be how they serve them here but I found it weird. While the steak was cooked well, the flavor was like nothing. I don't know how to describe it. The meat texture was great but the flavor was missing. We came here the other night to celebrate some birthdays and was very impressed. This place from the outside is easy to miss but once inside this place is pretty swanky. The bar area which will definitely come back for looks really nice and upscale vibe. Service was top notch and the only suggestion would be don't be so anxious to pull plates off the table and make people feel rushed. I barely ate my last oyster off my plate and felt like we were being hovered over. Also don't let people wait 10 mins for drinks as simple as a glass of wine. With that our waitress was top notch and not all her fault or issue. Food was awesome I had the 8oz snake river farms filet with mushroom risotto. As well as started with fresh oysters. Everything was delicious. By the pics you can see everyone had a little something different and we all loved our dishes. I snuck a bite of my wife's ravioli and OMG so good. The very first time we went, a few months ago, ev3ruthibg was delicious and cooked perfectly. I had the sea bass and my husband had the flat iron steak. The clam chowder was thy best I have ever had and the drinks were very well balanced. The place is beautiful and cozy and our waiter was very nice and took very good care of us. Fast forward to New Year's Eve. My husband got the flat iron again and was still excellent. I got the clam chowder again however it seemed like they changed the recipe. It was more like soup than chowder and had less potato and clam and more larger pieces of veggies. The flavor was still good but not what I remembered. This time I went with the Salmon Fillet. I love salmon, risotto and asparagus which this had all three. However, the risotto, even though was creamy, had no flavor, same with the asparagus, no flavor. The salmon was cooked correctly but the seasoning was a bit overpowering. If you mix the salmon with the risotto and asparagus, it mellowed it out but that is not what should happen. Everything should compliment each other. The dish was OK but not amazing. Our server was nice and took care of us but it seemed like he may not have been in the greatest of moods and didn't want to be there. I'm not saying he was horrible but he was not as pleasant as some of the other waiters, waitresses, bartenders and hostesses were. The worst part of this experience was that the rest of the night, new years eve, I spent a good majority of it in the restroom until about 4 in the morning. Never had to flag someone down or ask for help. Bread service was delicious. Cocktails were Yelplicious. Love a martini with blue cheese olives. Had to have the signature fries as an appetizer and they ROCKED! Seasoning, fry, potato density, and quantity was excellent. Didn't really need a dipping sauce but when asked, chose the ranch. best part is that it was homemade. Yum! Now for the entrees. Chicken parm was crunchy and a good portion. Pasta was also yummy and the sauce was flavorful. The pepper filet steak tips were good but I may have ordered them too rare, medium rare, because it was a little too rare but that was my fault. Thank you for asking... Our meats were not cooked medium. They were medium well. Strike 1...but the seasoning and pairings were good. We got the Brócolini. Super yum. We did let our waitress know about the steaks and she did offer to have it made again but we didn't want to wait or be an inconvenience on Mother's Day. We did get a side of the Mac N Cheese- way too many crumbles for our taste. Next time we will stick to just the broccolini. Service could have been way better. They had a waitress and a second helper. Kinda like they do at the higher end steakhouses. We saw the second waiter once. He should've gone around way more to help out. We went at 5:30 with reservations and it wasn't busy so service should've been way better. We would give it an 8/10...simply because for the same steaks at Texas Roadhouse we would've paid 1/3 of the price and way better service. Lemon drop should've been fancier for that $17 they charged us. It was missing the sugar rim it usually comes with. It honestly looked like dirty water but the taste was tasty. We went to Corso Italian Steakhouse to celebrate my birthday, and it completely lived up to the hype! This place has an awesome retro mid-century vibe. Expected to see Dean Martin or Frank Sinatra slipping into one of the booths. Super cool bar too, with red backlighting, a mural of old Hollywood stars, and great energy throughout. The menu is packed with choices, from pastas to Chicken Marsala to an amazing lineup of steaks with sauces like port reduction, mushroom, and peppercorn. We started with oysters on the half shell and crab cakes (so good), then moved on to a mix of steaks, pasta, and Chicken Parm. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic. Drinks were on point as well. A classic martini with blue cheese-stuffed olives (perfectly made), an Italian-style Tom Collins, and a rum and Coke. They also have a great wine list I had a Daou Cabernet that went really well with my filet mignon. We finished with lemon cake and tiramisu cake, both super fresh and great. Service was top-notch, tons of friendly, attentive staff, and even the manager stopped by to check on us. The open kitchen added to the atmosphere, and there's parking available, which is a nice bonus. Definitely make a reservation as this place gets busy! I usually don't give 5-star reviews easily, but Corso absolutely deserves it. Great food, cool vibe, and a super fun night. I'll be back way before my next birthday! Recommend!! read more

I was hesitant because of the price, but it was amazing! Good about of crab, and a perfectly seasoned and grilled filet. I ordered the jumbo asparagus as the side. Also cooked perfectly. Appetizer was the shrimp and calamari fritto misto. Amazing! For my most recent visit we got the meatballs for our appetizer. We really liked them. For dinner I got the seafood tagliatelle. It was also very good. My only complaint was that the lobster was half a small tail that was not loosened from the shell. Really messy and a lot of work to get at the meat. But the shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly. Hubby got the chicken parmesan. He absolutely loved it. A big enough portion for him to bring home leftovers. Drinks are great. Came back for a second time and it was just as excellent as our first time. This time we were celebrating my husband's birthday with friends and had the best dining experience ever. I highly recommend the Ribeye with Gorganzola sauce...the BEST!! Of course appetiizers of Asparagus and mushrooms were the best also. Our waitress, Samantha, was truly the best ever. Her personality, attention to detail, and her willingness to take our photo and then to be in a photo with us just made our experience so memorable. She never made us feel rushed but did treat us like we were the most important customers of the day. If there was such a thing, Samantha would easily win Server of the Year award! I can't wait to come back here for our anniversary and this is definitely our #1 favorite place to go to for any special occasion. We hosted a Large Family graduation dinner in Corso's Private room. Everything was 5 stars. From working with Megan to plan the menu, to the room set up with our personal touches that they were able to integrate into their own beautiful decor, to perfect 4 course menu for our guests and AMAZING service from the wait staff assigned to our group. PERFECTION!! The wait staff was friendly, fun, efficient, and helpful! The manager checked in with us a few times throughout the night to make sure everything was going as expected. I'll start with the positive-the place is beautiful. They did an amazing job with the remodel. But that's as far as we got. We went for happy hour at 4:30 on a Friday and were turned away! The bar was more than half EMPTY and the restaurant deserted BUT they take reservations for happy hour-who does that? All those big beautiful tables were going to sit EMPTY for another hour or more waiting for their "reservations" to arrive. They ought to take note from a long standing and extremely popular restaurant with an excellent happy hour, that does first come first serve-BARBACOA or Chandlers. I can't imagine the amount of money Corso's let walk out the door. An entire hour or more of food and drink lost. Not to mention the feeling of being sent away. Did they forget this is Boise? I could not be more disappointed. I write this in hopes that maybe they make some changes. Fill up that big room full of happy hour customers-first come, first serve. Put some nice seating outside to wait if necessary-can you imagine the visibility and free advertising of seeing people excited to get in as you drive by! We certainly don't need another restaurant to fail at this location. No plans to go back as that "ick" feeling of being sent away is still pretty raw. But will happily revisit my review if we ever go back. read more

Went to Corso with my Godparents on a recent visit. Corso is the third or fourth restaurant by this ownership group in Boise, and it definitely fills a gap in the scene. Although there are good steak options in Boise, Corso brings an entirely different vibe to the scene, and I'm here for it. First off, very good service. From the Hostesses to the servers assistant and of course our server, everyone went out of their way to ensure a good experience. Our table of 5 ordered 3 entrees, Oysters, Dungeness crab martini and crab cakes. The latter being the showstopper of the selections! No filler, just delicious crab and they bake them there instead of frying, making them crispy and not oily. I had the seafood pasta, which was adequate, but lacked seasoning and overall flavor. It's also exceedingly pricey for what you get. I probably wouldn't order it again, as there are better options in town if that's your desired meal. The steak ordered was perfectly cooked, and the table agreed was a highlight. Overall, Corso is a very good restaurant with exceptional service. We will be back soon. Recommended. read more

My husband's food tasted great he had the chicken Parm. I got the Sea Bass and the seasoning was good but the fish was so hard to cut through with my fork. The risotto was sour without adding in the balsamic and just wasn't good. Overall for $45 it was not worth it. The Ambiance was modern vintage Italian which was nice. Service was ok. When we arrived they had already seated someone under our reservation which made it confusing at first but the host figured it out. Our server seemed nice but she only asked my husband if he wanted a refill on his drink. I even put my empty glass out to the edge of the table hoping she would notice but the whole time we were there I NEVER received a refill. I had heard great things about this restaurant and besides the service and my main dish everything else was good but we won't be coming back. read more

We went to Corso on Father's Day for dinner. Let me start with the restaurant itself. On the outside it doesn't look like much, but inside it is a nicely decorated supper club, and the bar area is well done. When we arrived, they put is in a booth that was right at the entry, and very small ( read that uncomfortable) even thought there were more secluded 2 person booths available. The "better" boots remained empty for the duration of our dinner, which wrapped up about 7pm. The server was enthusiastic, but slow and would disappear for long periods of time so drinks and food orders too a while. Drinks were ok, I had draft beer and my wife had a cocktail. For dinner I had the Ribeye and Au Gratin potatoes. The steak was over cooked and tough and needed better seasoning. The potatoes were good. My wife had the Chicken Parm. It was overcooked as well, and the crust was hard. The pasta and sauce part were ok. For dessert we had the pistachio crème brûlée. Again, the caramelized topping was burnt, and not good. One thing is for sure, you don't need to worry about food being undercooked there. The bread was also over-baked. I would chalk this up to it being Father's Day, but it wasn't like they were overwhelmed with customers, and they had plenty of staff.
