When I called the driver had an attitude and told me he had a more important emergency Job and that he would come after. I recently used Corte Madera Tow for the second time. Our car stalled on the freeway. I called Corte Madera Tow because I used them 10 or so years ago and had a great experience. This time was equally good. I called Corte Madera Tow and explained the situation; we were a little panicked being stuck along the busy freeway. I was stuck, literally stuck on a bump in the asphalt when I tried to turn around on a very steep driveway. I mean, wheel not touching the ground. I called a few places, and they wanted 250 to 450, which I did not have. I called Corte Maderia Towing and spoke to Ricky. After explaining my predicament , ricky agreed to do it for a hundred dollars, which was all I had in my account, but that's what I needed to do. Ricky came out and spent about 30 minutes trying to manipulate my car off the hump and then told me he wouldn't charge me. I cried on the way home. Unbelievable in this age of high prices and personal narcissism, to come across someone like Ricky. I wish i could monetarily make up his losses, but I can let the rest of the world know that this individual deserves the business like no other towing company. read more

Sharing my Google review here as well: Make sure you're aware up front of their fees and charges, as other tows in the county are more affordable. I had my car towed under 5 miles and was charged $325. Was told this after it was loaded. The other tow said it would be $150, so I assumed this one would be similar. And then when I was asked if I wanted to tip on top of the $325 I was a bit in shock and had to decline as this was over twice the other tow rate. When calling to ask for the breakdown I was told I "wasn't capable" and needed the drivers "expertise" and that's why I was charged an extra $140 for labor. When the driver arrived my car was dead, he jumped it and from there was able to shift into neutral and crank loaded it to the standard towing bed. Had I had a charge I was fully capable of putting it in neutral. The customer service was not ideal or up front and trustworthy. read more

This towing company is criminal. I was driving behind one of their towing trucks when a window shattered from one of the cars in the tow bed. The glass debri hit my car causing damage to the windshield and headlights. I had to chase him down and make him pull over. The driver refused to provide his DL or insurance and just handed me his business car and drove off. I followed him into the yard and called the company and they also refused to provide any information and told me to file it with just my own insurance and I had no proof. I had to get the cops involved. Luckily,I have a dash cam and caught the whole incident. Will be pressing charges. Disgraceful company with trashy employees. read more

As the Saints would have it, my car had a flat tire last Sunday and also the battery petered out. I was referred to Corte Madera by another tow company, whose name I can't remember. Traveling to Sausalito by a Golden Gate Transit, I got off in front of a restaurant across the street from a gas station and a place called Bridgeway Village. The wrong stop. I tried to find a taxi, but couldn't and by that time, three of Sausalito's finest were walking towards a relieved and broadly smiling me! I told them I was sooooo happy to see them because I knew they would help me! And they did. One officer called a taxi company to find out how long it would take them to come (45 minutes) and then asked if I wanted a ride over. I said yeah! Since I already contacted Corte Madera Tow, I was glad to get a lift over to my car. The tow truck came about 15 minutes later. Ordered a new battery through AAA but their app didn't inspire a lot of confidence that it had gotten the details right. Fortunately, the request was routed through Corte Madera Tow and I was able to confirm all the particulars by text with the dispatcher (thank you, actual human being!). But when the driver (Leonel) arrived, after running some diagnostics, he became convinced there was an issue with my charging system and that it would be premature to install a new battery before checking the electrical system. I had to tow my car two miles because I got rear ended and didn't have tail lights to be street legal. Here's why I think Corte Madera Tow is great and stuck out from others: They were available to take my request, their response was very quick (under 1hr), the staff are friendly and the Frank with the tow truck took great care of my car. I called other locations and got voicemails or no answer. I have had other tows in the past where tow truck agencies try to take advantage of your misfortune. Corte Madera Tow was neither of these things, I called and someone answered the phone in 10 seconds. I told dispatch where I was, where I wanted to go. Disappointing to see Manager Chris Carras not take responsibility for a damage caused, while training a young fella- the pin came off my car's bumper, bending the bumper around the pin area and cracked the paint. Worst customer service from dispatch, woman was extremely rude on the phone. Due to Covid, we were not able to ride with the driver to the mechanic shop. I told her I understood why, but that I didn't have another ride or the money for a taxi, lyft, or Uber either. In the text update I received from them it stated, "We are here for you, and should it be required, we do our best to assist you in securing a ride." I asked her if there was a way to help get us to the shop, but she said it was not their problem and that she would not assist with finding a ride. She did not attempt to help us at all, and due to this, we had to cancel our tow truck. read more

Very late in the afternoon just before closing time is when these things seem to happen in my life. I live on a hillside. My front wheel was hanging over a ledge. Despite my AWD it was a jam I could not get out of on my own. Of course my AAA had expired quite a while before. I called Corte Madera Tow with my sad story. They agreed to come out. I came out from work to discover that one of my tires was completely flat. I called AAA and lucky for me, they sent Corte Madera Tow. Hayden showed up very quickly (in about 15 minutes), and promptly set about putting on the spare tire. My car is old, and the spare had never been used, but he took a look and let me know that it is a good tire, full-size, and that I shouldn't have any worries about driving home on it. Horrible service over the phone, rudely questioned and yelled " you don't know where you broke down?!" As a customer who was broken down in the middle nowhere with no address and not familiar with the area, I found it very unprofessional, disrespectful as the attitude carried the conversation. I grew impatient and let the lady on the phone know that she will receive the same treatment if she keeps. She rudely threw it in my face, that I technically needed her and needed the invoice. If I didn't like it, she would hang up. If a towing company can't pull a record from a few days and they have to base off Street breakdowns to find you, you already have a low quality shop with employees that don't love their and shouldn't work there. This is a complete bottom feeder operation. I don't see how any of the surrounding towns use them for their tow service. I had my car towed there because I was parked on a public street for over 72 hours. Ok, that was my fault. I will own up to that. It was a blown head gasket and I couldn't move it. The car was dead. So in order for them to dispose of the car, I don't want they required $500 For the tow in order to sign the car over to them. Absurd? Yes. But ok. I went along with it because my hands were tied and they knew they could extort the money from me. Now here is where it gets extremely low. Between the time they towed it and the time I went to get my title to sign it over to them, they decided to go through it and take my personal belongings. They stole for me directly. I confronted the fat buffalo lady at the counter and she had this deer in the headlights look saying she had no clue what I was talking about. So the cigarette ash tray just magically ended up on the floor? If you are that petty to steal the change from an ash tray, you broke bottom feeders can keep that money. You clearly need it more than me. In addition they stole my slacklines, Pyrex dishes amongst other things. You are horrible people and shame on the law enforcement agencies for employing thieves to tow cars for you. If I could give it a zero I would. I called AAA for a battery replacement and was told it would be 60-90 minutes. They called back 2.5 hours later saying it would still be just a bit longer. At 3.5 hours I called. They checked and said the person that picked up the call is now off duty and I would need to call back in the morning. 10 minutes later I got a text from Corte Madera towing thanking me for allowing them to provide me service and asked for feedback! (I gave it! And I didn't even get a phone call back!) When I called the next day they were unapologetic saying the call shouldn't have been given to them at that hour and it wasn't their driver's fault and asked "what do you want me to do about it?" Ahhh, there's nothing like waking up at 7:30 am to go to a medical appointment in 38 degree weather. The ice on the car, the slippery stairs as I leave the house, freezing my ass off in my car on the leather seats before it's heated up. The holiday time, oh I love you so. Traveling to Starbucks to hook up my venti non-fat four equal latte to begin my day of overcaffeination, I hit the road to go to work and make the money for the day so we can buy some more needless but fabulous crap (hey, what's need anyway?). Sippin' on my latte, I'm just thinking about traffic and how I have fourteen minutes to get to work. In the fast lane, for once I'm not speeding, at least not really. I'm at about sixty five mph, slow for those that know me...then....the tire blows...and it doesn't just go flat, it blows off my car. My back end comes out from under me and the car begins to spin as I throw the wheel counterclockwise as I was taught when driving with the BMWCCA. I spin out over four lanes and somehow make it to the shoulder only twelve inches from the iron side barrier keeping my ass from flying into the hill. Who do I call? Corte Madera Tow. They were there, on the side of the road fixing my car within twelve minutes, and it only took five minutes for them to hook me up with my new tire and rim which was hidden in my trunk. The gentleman this morning was kind, courteous and QUICK! He knew I needed to get to work and was efficient. I was so grateful that not only I wasn't dead (how no one hit me as I went through four lanes at sixty five mph while spinning I damn well don't know) and that my changing tire guy was there. My heroes! So today I made the mistake of running out of gas in downtown San Rafael (on a busy one-way street). I called Toyota's Roadside Service and they immediately put me in touch with Corte Madera Towing. Within 10 minutes (I kid you not), they were at my side with a fresh tank of fuel. After discussing private property tow with the owner of Corte Madera Tow, my organization selected Corte Madera Tow as our private property tow company. In order to comply with California Vehicle Code, we installed thousands of dollars worth of private property tow signs on our properties- 5 apartment complexes. During the process, Corte Madera Tow never mentioned that they would charge a fee for removing cars from our property. After spending all that money to install the signs with Corte Madera Tow's number and name on them, Corte Madera Tow now wants to charge us a $300 fee for removing cars off of our properties that they deem to be in bad shape. I get that Corte Madera Tow has overhead associated with junky cars, but they should have been upfront and honest about it from the beginning. When I called today to speak to them about it, they were extremely rude and shouted into the phone "READ ME THE CONTRACT! READ ME THE CONTRACT!". This isn't about the contract, because the form that Corte Madera tow provides is simply a towing authorization form. In discussions with them, they should have been upfront about how they operate- In initial discussions, I specifically asked if we would be charged for towing, and they said "No". This is about shady business practice, and now we will have to pay to change the signs because they are not upfront. We will be moving all of our business to Downtown Ignacio Tow- their owner is extremely professional and knowledgeable. I just regret I didn't use him in the first place. read more
