I had been putting off dealing with the scratch because the last time i had a fender bender issue and had to go through insurance with an auto body shop, I'd had a bad experience with the rental car company they used trying to pin me with a ticket that wasn't mine, and long crazy story unrelated here. I had gone back to the same auto body shop (because it appeared they did a good job and they were very nice people, rental car not really their fault). But even though, to me it looked like a smaller job, they told to me it would be another biggish job, reaching into near $5000 to repair with panels, bumper, and paint repair, where I'd need a rental car co again so i had put it off, for fear of using rental car co, plus i have a $1000 deductible (ouch). To make a long story shorter i came into Downtown auto, upon referral, and met with a very nice guy, Martin. He took a look at my scratches and actually buffed them all out on the spot! (wow!) and gave me a bid to fix my front bumper for less than my deductible so i wouldn't even need to go through the insurance and rent a car! Plus, he said it'd be done in like 2 hours. I made the appointment and can't wait to update this review further. Btw, it's a comfortable waiting area, with nice glass viewing windows to see what's going on with your ride. And if you need to make a Costco run that day? It's conveniently located right across the street!

Downtown did an AMAZING job, making my baby brand new again. It took a few weeks due to parts availability but the kept me informed throughout and dealt with my insurance to make sure all necessary repairs were covered. However, 2025 August the tint on the back windshield started to peel, so I tried to take it there for the warranty, and they told me that they no longer use that tent, so I had to go to Blackout Window Tinting in Petaluma and they would honor the warranty. I was originally told it would be done same day and then he told me he couldn't get the tint off so he would need my car another day. This was a little bit inconvenient since I needed my car for work, but I ended up borrowing my parents. It ended up taking three days and my car smelled of ammonia afterwards. What really frustrates me is that all of the fine lining that your car needs to defrost the back windshield was ripped off. I noticed it months later not realizing that is why my rear windshield defroster was no longer working. I did some research on the Internet and found out that it was most likely during the scraping of the windshield tint that all of those fine electric filaments were ripped off. This was not mentioned to me, though after the service and I learned the hard way. When I reached out to John, I got no response. I can't afford to repair that on my car since the entire lining was ripped up. Pictures are included. Not good business.

The ones I had gotten just a short while ago from a local auto supplier--not Oliver's. My mom patronizes and loves this service business, so I took a chance they could at least diagnose what to do to solve the squeaks. I realized I did *not* want to hear that noise every time the wipers moved for the hour trip to Fairfield and another hour back. Not only did they realize I needed new wiper blades, but had my exact type in stock. Impressive. They installed them for me, and even graciously applied RainX. Both changes fixed the squeak. And I recall paying more at that other place than what Oliver's charged me. All three employees were friendly, smiling, and engaging in chat while doing their part. When I went to pay, the cashier already had the invoice printed. It literally was a minute after I got there. Thank you, team. Not only did you rectify the issue--and expediently, but also I was on my way without making me late to my destination.

On a Thursday night, Mike said that he could check it out Friday morning. We brought the car in and two hours later, he diagnosed the problem (tires and alignment) and suggested where to go for the repair as they don't do tires. I thanked him for his advice, which I took, and went to pay, and was told, "don't worry about it!" No charge! I will definitely be back and recommend Mike and his team!

I cannot speak to insurance claims which the web site states are resolved "in a timely manner" but I was forced to wait 6 months before I got my parts back. Having inherited a 2005 Vespa scooter that needed two smallish dents addressed and a new coat of paint, I obtained a couple of quotes, and settled on Fernando after he personally inspected it at our home and proclaimed his finished product would be "better than new". We agreed on the price and I was assured it would take him "several weeks" to get it done. To make it even easier for the guy, I disassembled the body completely and on November 12, 2024 dropped the parts off. Little did I know, I would not see them back until April 25, 2025. The first red flag that I should have noted and run away fast was when Fernando requested a down payment in cash, as he explained he was trying to keep the gig hidden from his wife. I did get a receipt for it but what followed was 6 months of excuses, no shows at his shop and multiple promises of delivery dates that were not fulfilled and always pushed forward. When I could not reach him, he claimed he lost the phone or that it did not work and when I was able to leave a message, I would not hear from him. Text messages were answered days after being sent. To say this was frustrating would be an understatement. I was so irate I wrote the guy a letter indicating I was prepared to take the matter to a small claims court. He became more communicative but the job dragged on nevertheless. To my amazement, he managed to lose two handle bars covers which I had to buy replacement for. When I finally got the parts back, one needed clear reapplied and all were afflicted with a good amount of orange peel - worst being the front fender - which Fernando said he would polish away. He did a decent job with the main body but the front fender and side fairing were left with hazing and scratches that looked worse than the peel itself. See pic attached. I sent him a text with pictures of the fairings on 5/22 and was promised a fix when he'd "back in a few weeks". I sent anther text on 6/18 asking if he was available to meet but as of this writing, I'm still waiting to hear. Ferndnado's Auto Body is an extremely low quality and poorly run establishment and should be avoided at all costs.
