I got a flat tire on the way to work this morning and called AAA. They sent Nicholas from Corte Madera Tow. I was quoted 20-40 minutes for the truck to arrive, but he got there in about 10. You better hope this towing company isn't called when you get into a car accident! Every single person I encountered here was unprofessional and rude. They made it seem like it was a hassle having me there or over the phone, even though I paid $85 to grab things out of my car! Then to top it off, the guy that let me in BROKE MY WINDSHIELD by trying to pry open my hood. Then he tried to deny it saying it was there before (even though I had taken a picture before with no crack). The nerve... I couldn't wait to get my car out of here. Called to check into prices for a tow. I asked the dispatcher if she serviced the Fairfax area. She said yes and then abruptly put me on hold without asking. I waited for about 5 minutes. Twice during that time I heard her pick up and then put me back on hold. I decided this was kind of rude, so I hung up and called Mill Valley towing. Very bad experience with this service. My driver dropped my car off next to the auto body shop because it was closed. He told me he does it all the time and I have nothing to worry about. Come to find out my car got towed because it was a private parking lot cost me over $500 to get my car out of impound. I tried to get help from the owner and he would not budge because I was liable for where my car got towed to even though the driver assured me it was okay. Unreliable owner and very bad customer service. Will never use this company again read more

UNRELIABLE company. Keep looking for someone else. I was quoted 90mins. I called them for an update and was told their driver would be on site by 5pm (original reqest was confirmed at 3:30ish) passed 5pm still no one, so I followed up again around 5:30pm or a few mins after 5:30. Then their dispatcher said that they received a call 10mins ago (5:20ish) that a priority call was received so my new ETA is 90mins more. But they never called me that my original request was bumped out. I called them for a follow up since I had been waiting OVER 90mins. Timing of what was communicated does NOT make any sense since I waited over the initial 90min wait, then was advised there's another 90min wait. Don't waste your time. They don't follow up with you on changes to their schedule. I would have never known of the new arrival time if I did not follow up. Having car issues suck, but having bad communication from the comany you think is going to help you out just makes the situation even worse. Seriously, don't waste your time and call the next tow company in your list to help you out. read more

Truly a nightmare experience with this company. They were called out (through AAA) to take my truck from Sausalito to my mechanic in San Rafael - no big deal, i had done this several times before. Three days later i call to my mechanic to find out he never received my truck. I called AAA and it was not until 7 days after the initial tow (yes, SEVEN days), did they finally discover that the tow truck driver dropped it off at the wrong shop! I had them re-confirm the address back to me from the original dispatch call - all was correct, but somehow the driver got it dead wrong. The worst of it was, no one cared - it was like i was meant to be grateful that all ended in a happy story. I would not trust this company in the slightest. read more

Although the Nissan folks said not to jump start so they could do proper diagnostic, the driver still jumped the car to make sure it was just a battery issue and so I wouldn't have to use my AAA unnecessarily. So, yeah, screwed up diagnostics, but it was obvious a new battery was in order for winter anyhow. They came twice -- first when the car needed a jump...then the next day when I locked the rental keys in the rental car. Same guy too, but he was cool about it. Fast, fast, fast service...both times and that was even though it was the first bad cold of winter. So don't know what the other Yelper's issue was. This company is first choice of folks out here. Get a AAA membership and use it since they're AAA preferred. read more

My insurance company refered me to Corte Madera Towing. My wife and I work full time and I asked the the vehicle be picked up in the morning or afternoon. I was told by the lady dispatcher that they could not do it at those times. I asked about a Saturday pick up. The dispatcher said no because they need to get a check when they drop off the vehicle and the bookkeepers don't work on Saturday. Finally after talking with my wife she said she could meet the driver to pick up the vehicle, but that we needed a time so that she could schedule her appointments around the pick up time. I called and the lady dispatcher and while talking with her she put down the phone to answer another call. After five minutes I hung up. The lady dispatcher has my name and number but did not call me back. How rude and unprofessional. So I called her back, The lady dispatcher asked me what time my wife would be here and I told her when the driver comes to get the vehicle and I needed to know what time my wife should be home for the pick up. The lady dispatcher asked if she could give me a window of time and that she could not give me a specific time. For me there are too many companies that want YOU to bend over backwards for them when you want to pay them for their goods and services. I told the lady dispatcher that I would find another company that could provide me with service not a run around, eewww... Memorial Day 2010: Long story short, I was heading home (driving) to Orange County from my trip to San Francisco when my expansion tank had cracked, so I needed to get towed. I called AAA and they sent Corte Madera Tow. We had used our GPS and cell phones to locate a repair shop that was open that day, and the guy was really rude about the whole thing. He even talked on his cell phone the entire time he was driving us back over the Golden State Bridge (I almost had a heart attack). But at the time, I was just thankful that we were able to get towed on Memorial Day. September 2011: I needed my car's alignment fixed. My mechanic friend had been doing minor repairs for me at his house since I returned home in May 2010, and had thought my tires sat a bit funny, but there was a never a need to put my car on a lift and take it apart until now. When I take it into the shop where my friend works to get the alignment done, they tell me why my tires sat funny: both rear lower control arms were symmetrically (and badly) bent. The only way that happens is if someone hooks up your car incorrectly to tow it. May 31, 2010 is the only time my car has ever been towed. You do the math. And now I'm still arguing with NorCal's AAA about them covering the $480 repair and the excessive wear to my tires which need to be replaced sooner than normal now. About a month ago my car died ( during lunch hour) at Luckys parking lot in Larkspur. The Luckys staff could not have been nicer! But 3 employees later, and two of their cars later, the car still Dead! I was so bummed. Nick, from Corte Madeira tow came out. And I asked for a tow to my mechanic. He was so great. He said, How about something better. And he pulled out his jump box and car started first try. He told me that when he heard it was a recent Camry that he knew he could start it. He was so nice I told him that to Thank his parents. They did a great job. Then I called into the office. Lily answered the phone. Again, kind, lovely, and professional. So fast forward a month. My car was dead again. Yep I know I need a new battery. But after Literally 15 minutes after I called my insurance, for roadside assistance, Ken called me. Again, jumped it the first time. I unceremoniously locked myself out of my car (and house and no access to cell phone) today while shopping at Bed, Bath and Beyond. I contacted the Central Marin Police and asked for a tow company recommendation to help: the dispatcher named Corte Madera Tow. The CM Tow dispatcher, Paula, got my information and reassured me that someone would be there in about 20 minutes, especially knowing that I had no cell phone for them to be in contact with me (Bed, Bath and Beyond let me use their landline to get help - so appreciated). In 25 minutes, Nick arrived and got me into my car. Both Paula and Nick were terrific - positive customer service! So reassuring. Corte Madera Tow is a company I will not soon forget! Chris from Corte Madera tow just towed our car out of a ditch that I unfortunately drove it into on Christmas Eve. Not only was he here in less than 20 minutes but he was magical to watch in his ingenuity in getting our car out without a single scratch - and it was really stuck!! He was so sweet too. He personally pushed the car out of the intersection, suggested some repair options that would save me money, his vast automotive knowledge enabled him to get the car on the truck with zero harm to the car and he offered to drive us home. I locked my keys in the car (at the gas pump) and the alarm was going off. I called Corte Madera tow. The truck arrived pretty quickly and the guy was very friendly. He knew how to deal with the alarm, opened the door, and got it started again. Second time I called, my Tahoe wouldn't start. It was acting funny beforehand, like there was an electrical problem. Again, the truck arrived pretty quickly, and as soon as he saw it was a Tahoe, he grabbed a wrench. He tightened the bolt on the battery cable and explained that was a very common problem on the Tahoe. I was expecting several hundred dollars in repair costs when it was just a loose cable. 5 minutes later, my Tahoe was running again, and hasn't been a problem since. In my experience, these guys really know their stuff, are quick, and friendly. read more

No Stars, as customer service should be #1 for any company. My car was to be towed from Mill Valley to San Rafael for $75. The tow truck was late, as there was another job in Mill Valley. When the driver arrived my car did not require a tow. Still $75, I called, the driver called. All they had to do was say, " how about $50". Nope, they won't budge. I understand that the driver and the truck cost $, but isn't there a difference in cost to tow to San Rafael, as it is to stop by when you are already down the road from me? There as so many companies to choose from and the ones that stand out have great customer service. This is not one of those companies. read more

While my husband was in Marin General Hospital for 32 days in ICU his Harley was literally stolen by Tow in front of his Marines Veterans Group (they wanted to store for free) Corte Madera/Redhill refused! After that the Vets m paid in full over $2000 in cash as Tow required for the release of his Harley! That was 2 years ago and not a hint of a problem a for 2 years! A day ago he ran his Credit Report..guess what? They showed it as an unpaid debt suddenly 2 years later!! When he called he tried to have them look up the VIN and license plate. The exceedingly rude person on the phone claimed based on their records that it was a Malibu! Still claiming never paid then yelled at him and hung up on him. Quite frankly the logical view states somebody, perhaps the illogical behavior from of the Accounting Representative is so illogical and rude that the conclusion is that of a thief or a group of tbieves!! If there was any way you can give negative stars this place would get minus 5 the service is terrible I called 5 minutes ago to get the status on a tow truck and the asshole that answer the phone was very unprofessional and rude like if I'm wasting his time seems that they don't care that people call them for help sitting on the side of the road plus the dispatcher had the nerve to call me irresponsible. Hubby was out of town, so I contacted AAA for a flat tire. I waited for more than 1 hour & 45 minutes for service to show up. All the while, AAA's automated system advised 10 minutes ETA, and at one point, a live operator was checking status of ETA, but to no avail. As it got closer to 11 pm, my co-worker was kind enough to swing by & manually change the tire, using the spare. This was tremendously tideous, and I was forever grateful. He felt the pain of waiting so long, especially a lone female with child in the vehicle late at night. Sure enough, after all was said & done, the service guy comes driving onto the scene with a cocky attitude as if he didn't realize he was almost 2 hours late. WTF was he doing? As I approached his truck, I saw Chinese "to go" boxes in the vicinity of his front seat, so I gather he must have taken a long lunch break, knowing that the work would involve tire changing (who wants to do that on a cold night). Ironically, when I call for a battery jump, service arrives with the speed of lightning....hmmm? Too bad I can't opt for negative stars! read more

Fast, reliable and courteous. That's my experience. A couple people here may have gotten bad drivers, but Darryl was the one who helped me. Needed a jump start on a Sunday night and he was great. The dispatcher was also courteous and professional. No complaints from me on this one. read more
