We ordered pizza while at the beach and walked over to pick it up. They provided plates and napkins for us. The pizza was delicious.

My mom used to love coming to Cosentino's Pizza whenever we were back in town. This year, we returned under much different circumstances--we were there to lay my mom to rest. As a family, we wanted to have lunch at one of her favorite places and spend some time remembering and celebrating her. I've waited a while before posting this review because I wanted to be fair and separate the emotions surrounding our visit from the actual experience. The first day we stopped in, the drink machine was being replaced and the restaurant wasn't open. That was completely understandable. What was disappointing was the attitude we received from the young staff when we simply asked when they expected to reopen. We got the typical "I don't know" response, and when we tried asking a couple of follow-up questions for clarification, they seemed annoyed and really weren't interested in helping. We aren't from the area and had specifically made the trip over because of what this place meant to my mom. We figured the first experience was just an off moment, so we came back the next day when they were open. Unfortunately, the same general attitude from the young staff carried over and really took away from the experience. The food itself wasn't the problem--it was the lack of friendliness, hospitality, and basic customer service. Of course, they had no way of knowing why we were there, and we certainly didn't expect or feel the need to explain that we had just buried our mom. But that's also the point: you never really know why someone has walked through your door or what that visit might mean to them. I wish our experience had been different, especially because Cosentino's held such good memories for our family and for my mom. Unfortunately, this visit didn't live up to those memories. This place has been around for awhile and I like that they have pizza by the slice. This time, we ordered two pizzas and garlic knots. The hot honey pepperoni was amazing. I didn't care for the margherita much, but I also didn't choose to order that pizza anyways. The garlic knots were soft and fluffy inside but could have used more garlic. Definitely a good spot to go grab food at after a morning surf session. read more

Ok! So this place is packed! And while I loved the pizza & the salad, the restaurant itself needs some TLC! It's small, and that's ok! But ... it's also dingy & dirty & no one was wiping down the tables! The day we were there the soda machine wasn't making ice and that was a bummer because Our drinks were warm. Pizza with a View!! Talk about a great location! It's right across the street from the San Clemente Pier. It's perfect for a lunch or dinner at the beach!! You'll get a view of the sunset, although you'll get a better view when you walk across the street to the pier. Dine there or get take out and have a picnic by the beach, either on the grass area or at the tables by the sand. There's a monorail train that runs through so it can be loud. It's a small pizzeria so seating is limited when it's busy. The Pizzas were so cheesy and hot when they put them on the table. The smells coming from the food were heavenly! It was definitely enough to feed our group of 8!! If I was just to review the food, they would've definitely got five stars! However, my review is based off of the service as well. I was easily able to place an order on the slice app and pick up at the restaurant. This was fairly simple and gave me about a 30 minute wait time. When I got into the restaurant, I stood there for a few minutes and was waiting at the front counter for someone to make eye contact with me, saying "excuse me" Finally, after about some time, a young man asked if he can help me. I explained that I placed an order and I'm there to pick up. He abruptly said "for what?" I gave him my name and I told him what my order consisted of, He turned around and grabbed the boxes behind him which were mine! I said thank you and he gave no reply. I asked if I can please get some plates. He looked at the female standing right next to him and they both kind of snickered. He acted like I was asking for too much!! The young man gave me 3 plates and I said thank you, again he said nothing. Was extremely disappointed with the customer service. When I got back to my condo, the Margarita pizza lacked cheese, but it had really good flavor and was tasty. The fig and goat cheese pizza was so delicious!!! I wanted to eat it every day I was there. However, the customer service deterred me! This restaurant makes a pretty good pizza. Hopefully the next time I try this place maybe the customer service will be on point, versus what I got. read more

Service was good. Ordered 2 pizzas, and the food came out in a couple minutes, ambiance was nice considering we had a good view of the pier, a bit of a cloudy day. However, the pizza was way too greasy, as in pick it up and it will drip grease everywhere. In fact, as I mentioned earlier, I could only finish one pizza before having to throw the other one out because thats the only slice I could eat. Could feel my arteries hardening. We had the BBQ chicken pizza, the Megan's special, the Greek salad with balsamic vinaigrette, and some buffalo wings. Nothing was very good. The BBQ had almost no sauce. The Megan's was probably the best one but it also had very little in the way of sauce. The Greek salad was the worst one I've had and the worst thing we ordered. It was entirely spinach with nothing resembling Greek about it. The wings had very little coating though they were juicy and cooked well. All in all, not worth the near $80 we spent by a long shot. I found this place when visiting my friend a couple years ago. I'm not from this area I'm from Fresno, but my trip this week was in San Diego and I knew I had to come here for the pizza and view. AMAZING GLUTEN FREE PIZZA! Was tipped off by another review by someone staying at the Sea Horse Resort (top floor), so we decided to try it when we stayed there, and we were delighted. I love this place and don't want to bring down the rating, I love the pizza and convenience being able to grab something by the beach and not spend that much money but I was in yesterday and what the hell is going on in the bathroom? It looks like it's never been cleaned.. like ever, the door is black, the walls are disgusting, poop and pee all over the toilet, you literally don't even want to wash your hands because the sink is so gross. The metal toilets at the beach are cleaner. I really love this place but come on guys. A deep cleaned once in a while would do you good. I've been ordering from Cosentino's for some time. However, last night they really let me down. The pizza arrived cold and over cooked with huge bubbles on many of the slices. Basically threw half of it away. A waste of $45. I did call to let them know and they offered to make a free small pizza if I wanted to come pick it up. That didn't work for me.
