Homemade chocolate pudding & Rice Crispy Treat
    Ann C.

The Riders Club Cafe is a convenient spot to refuel without feeling rushed. It's much more casual than a dining restaurant. We were not particularly hungry so we all had our chili hot dog and one kid's meal. My husband had the single cheeseburger. Seriously, the chili hot dog is amazing! It is a must-try item on the menu. The chili was delicious with a perfectly cooked beef hot dog. The sized portion was great too. I also recommend the Rice Crispy Treat and homemade chocolate pudding. They were super good. They've got indoor and also great outdoor seating depending on what is available or your preference. There is also a heater installed on the patio to make the outdoor dining comfortable. However, coastal evenings can turn chilly even in summer so bring a warm jacket or sweater. This will be very helpful to make a significant difference in your comfort.

Parking is rough. The place looks like a beach shack, albeit a very clean beach shack. The cashier was friendly, super patient, and knew the food. She was awesome. The food, delicious! Blue cheese was solid to bring out the quality of the other ingredients. Reminded me of Father's Office, which I also love. If The Rider Club was closer to my work or home, I would come regularly.

Classic burger joint with everything house made all the way down to the ketchup. Beautiful location to sit outside with great food. Service was super fast. 10/10 would recommend.

One of the best burger places in OC. The staff are welcoming and have great recommendations. It's a small place and parking can be tough buts it's worth coming to and has character. I used to come here when I lived in the area but it's worth the drive if you're further. Just as good as I remember. Burgers are juicy and there's fries with house made sauces, beets, desserts too.

Food was amazing! Very well seasoned, super fresh ingredients, soft bread. Bomb burgers! We got them with chili cheese fries which you can taste someone cooks with love. Service was also amazing! They attend you so kindly and have homemade ketchup The ambiance is just great at this little hidden gem. 100% recommend their food Strawberry shake was so natural tasting with pieces of strawberry, yet sweet. Super good!!

A local recommendation led us to this hidden gem in San Clemente for the best burger in town, and wow, it did not disappoint! Tucked into a cozy corner spot, this place knows how to do a burger right. Cooked to order with the freshest ingredients, each bite was an explosion of flavor. Juicy, perfectly seasoned, and guaranteed to make a mess (in the best possible way). Honestly, I reached that "I'm full but I can't stop eating" stage about halfway through. The fries? Hot, fresh, and salty--everything you want in fries. But let's be real, the burgers are the real MVP here. Mouthwatering perfection, every single time. If you're in San Clemente, this place is an absolute must-visit!

Good reliable burger! This a classic burger joint with efficient service, relaxed vibe and simple flavors. They also have a chili burger which was pretty good and their fries are perfectly crispy! A good beer selection is available too. There's a bit of parking spots in the back but otherwise street parking.

I got my burger with grilled onions and muenster cheese, keeping everything else as is. It was a great, high-quality burger. It's on the pricier side, but I think the quality justifies the cost. There were pieces of arugula mixed in with the lettuce, which I thought was smart as it balanced the flavors of the fatty components of the burger. The cheese was melted perfectly, with a creamier taste than traditional cheddar. The patty was fairly thick and cooked perfectly to a medium rare. The brioche buns were soft and tasted fresh. The ordering system was super easy, and the service was great. I got my burger quickly after ordering, and they had everything I needed (salt, pepper, water, etc.) The vibe of the shop was like a beach shack, clean and laid-back. Overall, it was a great, high-quality burger. While there's nothing particularly unique about it, they definitely focus on quality and delivering classic flavors.

I shared The Burger with a 1/3 lb medium-well patty, cheddar, a fried egg, lettuce, grilled onions, house-made mustard pickles, and avocado with my son, and it was absolutely scrumptious! They also have one of the best kids' burgers around!! The fries were really good, and we loved the house sauce. On top of the great food, the staff were welcoming and friendly. Dessert perfectly completed our meal - chocolate and strawberry milkshakes! Yum!

A San Clemente institution and deservedly so for a lot of reasons: great burgers, beers, sandwiches, stunning sunset views from the patio in the summer, nice happy hour specials on beer, fries and chili dogs. Why is the burger so decent? Course grind beef, lots of marbling so it's not some dried out hockey puck and they will serve it medium or medium rare. The carnitas sandwich is also exceptional with a carrot slaw and perfectly cooked pork. Friendly staff. Yes its small and the fries are not distinctive but if you enjoy a kick back place near North Beach this is a must!

This tiny place looks like a dive from the outside but it's definitely not. The burgers are extremely well made, the shakes are great, and the fries are good and crispy. Everything is made to order. The basic burger, which comes with your choice of cheese, lettuce, terrific housemade pickles, house spread, and grilled or raw onions, is around $14 and then you pay for any additional toppings, like bacon or avocado. You don't get fries with your burger but get the fries for $5. They are excellent and shareable. The burger is terrific. It's seasoned well and very juicy. The housemade pickles are very, very good. I went with grilled onions but I think raw would be better for the crunch/texture factor. I added bacon because I'm not a sociopath. The chocolate shake was excellent and the whipped cream on top was freshly made. They've got good beers on draft and an extensive soda menu. The food here is not divey at all. It is very high quality. The prices are also very high. I was really torn on rating this one because price and value are important factors. I would say the quality of the food justifies the high prices but check those prices before you come so you don't have sticker shock.

Juicy delicious burgers! I had a bacon bleu burger with grilled onions. They used to serve the burgers with potato chips and beets but they no longer do, beets however, are available for an extra charge. Also got fries which were crispy and delicious!

Pro tip: Order beers & appetizers at the counter and then hang and have a couple of drinks and order dinner with your waitress. The food: Tallow Fries - Must order, the best fries you'll ever have. With the homemade ketchup good lawd! We got 2 baskets for 4 of us. We should have gotten 3 baskets. Coastal smash - 2 Pattie's, no seed oil sauce, pickles, onions, cheese on a fabulous brioche style bun. My wife LOVED this. Brisket tacos - An absolute winner. Smokey, salty, tangy, plenty of umami with cilantro and pickled onions. Fire! The only thing i would have loved was some sort of salsa. Maybe there was and I missed it. Caesar salad wrap chicken - this was a sleeper hit. My daughter is a Caesar salad conissuer and this was right up her ally. And with avocado oil Caesar dressing, no garbage! Comeon. Grilled fish tacos - very fresh and good. I think there was a sauce but these were dry. It needed more sauce and some salsa. Mind you the quality was there, so I had no problem eating them. But they were a bit bland honestly. 10/10 friendly service 10/10 easability if ordering and seating. 9/10 Food This will become one of our favorite family spots no doubt. Thank you Coastal Cowboy for caring enough to be seed oil free and health conscious with your cuisine.

We sat for probably 10 minutes before anyone greeted us, it was 3:30pm so it wasn't very busy, maybe 3-4 other tables. Every time someone came after that we had to wave someone down for water refills, never asked anyone if we wanted more drinks from the bar, nothing. Had my father in law asked for more ice tea and they never even started a new pitcher in 15 minutes. It was not busy. The place had a to of gluten free options which is a reason I wanted to try it. My server had no idea what gluten was. For a place that had half the menu marked as gluten free I was really surprised she really had no knowledge of the menu, but she was nice enough to go ask some questions when i pressed a bit that I wasn't vegan, and it was like an allergy. The food was good, portions were large enough and everything was pretty good as far as the food. Not sure why the service was so incredibly patchy and absent when we ate at 3:30 and the place was 2/3 empty. It was pretty good, I may try again but for the price point I think the service can be a little better. Nice...but slow. Definitely need more training on the menu! Mid. Not bad. Not great.

Just very very casual and not totally comfortable. Food- 3.4/4 out of 5 - I got the Luau plate and LOVED the chicken!! Everyone else was right- that chicken thigh deserves its own plate. I also really enjoyed the coconut pudding/jello thing that came with it and the sausage link. The pulled pork was just okay, not very well seasoned but not bad. The side of "dressed greens" was just some lettuce without dressing on it, and I thought the macaroni salad was fine. The last thing that really disappointed me were the sautéed veggies :/ they were just soo oily and had no seasoning to them at all. I didn't eat any of them or the un-dressed 'salad'. My husband got the chicken katsu plate, he said the chicken katsu was fine but the fries on the side were cold and not crispy, they were kind of chalky in the mouth and didn't taste fresh. Some parts were definitely a 3/5 but my chicken thigh was so good and the portions are *huge* so I feel like they deserve a 4/5? All in all, I think I'd come back if I wanted to go out with someone but save some money and we'd split one of the plates (the portions really are huge).
