I first met Preety when I went to get a "trial" makeup for my wedding. After the trial, I was so happy that I booked her right away. Preety and the crew of Karma Salon is not only good with Indian bridal make up but also for non-indian bridals. I was very please with my make up for my engagement party, wedding and reception. They did a very good job for my bridal party as well. I have been going back to Preety for hair cuts and am still very happy with the service. Found this location on accident and it's been he best thing. Great location!! From blow outs to eyebrow threading; I've yet to find a complaint. I wish I still lived in NY and knew about this salon sooner. My appointment was for a single process color. Preeti could tell that previously my hair had been colored poorly and unevenly. She was very quick while applying the color and made sure to check in on me to let me know how much time was left for the processing. Ruby is the one who rinsed and did my blowout. She as well did a great job and was very thorough when washing my hair. Normally when I go home after getting my hair colored, I see the color running in the shower, definitely didn't experience that this time around. WORST SALON EVER. The lady not only ruined my eyebrows but was so disgustingly rude... I asked for a tissue in the middle of her doing my eyebrows gave me an attitude, I stopped to check one of my eyebrows and she responded by "relax, I know what I'm doing" as she finished threading she messed up both my shapes make them uneven and arching one and not the other. She not only ruined my shape and eyebrows as I got up she started laughing. So rude worst eyebrow salon. 100% recommend never going here worst salon ever. Awful customer service made me sit there and wait for her as she talked with another customer for 10 minutes. Ruined my eyebrows and had to deal with her nasty attitude and rudeness. read more

Visited this place a couple of days ago, but I'm still so upset about it that I decided to leave a review. I saw the wonderful reviews on Yelp and decided to take my mom here to get pampered with a facial and hair coloring (she never treats herself so I wanted this to be special). I called beforehand and made an appointment for both of us and inquired about their facials. I was told over the phone that there were various ones ranging from $40 and up. Great, so we show up to the appointment and I'm told there are only two types of facials done here: Pearl and Gold, one is $55 and the other $65 and that I have to get the $65 one because i have combination skin. There was only one person there to do facials (even though I made the appointment in advance) and I was told (it wasn't suggested...I was told) to come back in two hours so the person could start on my mom first. Pretty rude but I told her I wasn't leaving and that I'd wait. She sighed loudly and said fine, "you do the facial first and your mom can get her hair colored then you wait while she gets her facial". Since we were already there I went along with it. I was taken to a room in the back and given a garment with visible stains on it to change into. The hair band she used to hold my hair back had strands of other peoples' hair stuck to it as well. Pretty disgusting. Almost left at this point but decided to stay since my mom was getting her hair colored (we were told at the front desk that this would cost $40). After we were done, I went to pay and the girl at the desk told me the hair coloring was $65. This didn't make sense since right before they did the job they told us it would be $40. My mom and I both voiced this and the girl was like it doesn't matter I'm telling you now that it's $65. I said that's not right, you can't tell us one price at the beginning and then another one after you're done. Instead of apologizing or even being civil about it she started arguing with us in a loud voice...so much so that the person getting her eyebrows threaded got out of her chair to see what she was arguing about. My mom was visibly upset so I just paid and we left. Never ever going there again. Not the most hygienic place or someplace you can expect to receive even the slightest bit of customer service. They basically charged me $50 more than they should have ($25 more for the facial since there apparently was a $40 option they mentioned over the phone, and $25 more for the hair coloring than what they told us right before they did it!). You would think with all the salon options in Hicksville they would at least try. read more

Choose another salon for hairstyling! I had terrible service at this beauty salon. I asked my hairstylist to do an updo for wedding reception. I spent nearly $100 and ended up taking the whole thing apart when I returned home. I was so unhappy. The stylist was also very unprofessional in her behavior. read more

I got my makeup and hair done by Ruby...she did an excellent job with the makeup...i would have easily given 5 stars however While ruby was still doing my hair,her colleagues kept on interrupting her(very unprofessional)and telling her to do fast as there was another client waiting to get her hair done...so ruby couldnt do the finishing touches well...i was really disappointed with my hair that night... read more

Preeti, the owner contacted me to rectify a communication problem, which lead me to leave a negative review. She was very gracious and accommodating. I then had my hair colored and conditioned at her salon. She carefully and clearly explained the process of coloring gray to produce a flattering, natural look. The result was much darker than I expected, but still nice. I recommend Glow Bar. read more

We are writing this review to warn others about being careful and knowing what to expect at this establishment. We used separate groupon deals here and the services were poor, insulting, and inexperienced. Advice to Preeti - you are nice and capable but in your absence your staff is lost, unfriendly, insulting, disrespectful, and is uncapable of providing the proper service for which the customer is there for. They were highly disorganized and refused to honor the 2nd facial of our 2-facial deal and after extreme persistence finally gave in. I specifically told them I only want a female doing my highlights and then slowly the male took over the process. Highly insensitive and does not follow directions. My highlights came out cheap and low quality. I may file with the BBB for service not being provided for which they were paid for. I have mentioned my experience to family and friends in the community and they have also agreed to avoid this establishment. Preeti may be good but the other women at this establishment have no respect, technique, and service skills. More experiences like this will take away your business. If you can't handle groupons properly then don't use their service. They were indecisive on how much hair the highlights groupon covers. It states it clearly on the paper! I wish that I read the reviews before purchasing a groupon for two facials and coming to this salon. I had a facial done here several days ago and it was totally different than any other facials I have had else where (and I have had many!) Usually the aesthetician gently massages the face, avoiding the eyes. She vigorously massaged my face and did not avoid my eyes, rubbing the lids vigorously as well! If I had decided to wear my contact lenses, they would have been easily dislodged. She applied a mask to my face and left me in a dark room while she attended to other customers. Initially, I was told I would be done in an hour, and at that point, it was just about an hour. It seemed as if she had forgotten about me. I got up, opened the door and went looking for her in the salon with the mask on! She was busy with other customers, so she told me to wash it off myself and gave me towels.
