This is a lovely new nail salon. I've been there 3 times, got a gel manicure and regular pedi each time. Each time the gel manicure lasted for longer than 2 weeks with not a single chip. The experience is great too; sparkling clean environment, lots of colors to choose from (and a lot of perfect matches across gel and regular polish), strong masage chairs. Little touches like a slice of lime in your manicure soak and the free paraffin bath for your hands make the place even more special. It is a little more expensive than competitors in the area ($30 for gel manicure, as opposed to $25 all others charge), but I think the quality makes it worthwhile. This place is located in a decent area but that cheap salon feel becomes apparent with the staff. My technician and the manager were beyond unprofessional, and their timeliness is awful. My technician actually stopped working in the middle of my service, stormed to the back office, and never returned. Then the manager outwardly said it was my fault, and I had made her cry. All I did was let the technician know that I was not happy with the color she suggested and that I wanted to change it. Since the technician never returned to complete the job, the manager had to step in where she was flippant and sarcastic the entire time she did my nails. She worked too fast, cut my finger, and left dried SNS slime all over my hands. The customer service here really sucks! The technicians are very impatient and rude, which is not a place I want to get my nails done. Have somewhere to be? Then don't go here to get your nails done beforehand. Black women beware! I was a regular customer here and my nails grew so long but I'm not happy with the salon anymore. My favorite nail tech Johnny doesn't work here anymore. When I don't see him, every single time I would get someone who would be impatient for me to pick a color. I get SNS nails so I sit down at a table with the color wheel and browse through the colors. This apparently is unacceptable to them and they repeatedly tell me to soak my nails. How can I pick a color if I'm soaking my nails? If I'm taking up your time, don't assign me to a person until I'm ready. I always go at times when the salon is almost empty. It's normal to pick a color first which I'm honestly not allowed to do here. They don't cut and clean your cuticles. If I had red nail polish on and switched to a lighter color, you could see the remnants of the red on my skin from soaking. My hands weren't picture perfect when I left the salon, I had to wait a couple days for my natural skin oils to get rid of the former color. The last time I went I didn't like the color that the woman put on my nail, I realized this immediately after one finger and asked to change. She immediately started talking about me in Vietnamese. Great salon for a quick in and out service. The staff are all extremely pleasant and do a good job with your polish job. Lots of Essie, CNC, OPI etc colors to choose from. They offer you complimentary mimosas/tea/coffee water etc which is a nice feature. Early bird specials are Mon-Wed 10 am- 1 pm so the deals are better. I come here for SNS all the time. Yo-yo is great but everyone has done a fantastic job each time I've been. $40 for SNS. You have to ask if you want them to do cuticles/manicure and it's $5 extra but still reasonable. They can be a bit slow (was there for an hour and a half last night) but almost always worth it in the end and they give you free wine, sangria, water, coffee, or tea while you wait so! Just be sure to tell them what you want and they'll happily do it. I just cut my nails down short because one of them broke and I wanted them to grow out but the SNS can make even the crappiest of nails and worst of nail biters grow long and yo-yo is great at fixing people's nails. read more

I always get SNS nails and I love that they have so many color options. Many other salons are limited in colors. I've never had any issues with my nails or how they look. They offer you a beverage (water, soda, or wine). There is always good music playing and the atmosphere is relaxing. Their pedicures aren't the best but they are okay. I'm just moving to D.C these days and still looking for a pleasant nail shop with appropriate price, professional nail technician and friendly customer service. Cosmo seem doing good job to me. My nails are so thin due to doing gel so much and I was persuaded to do SNS - a powder dip with calcium and vitamins, by Yoyo. My nails are fantastically growing back and stronger (maybe just a little bit but I can feel it. It isn't easy to break like before). The lady doing my pedicure and SNS today is nice, too. Although she doesn't speak too much English, but she took time to take care of my nails. The shape is absolutely beautiful. And I like their ginger tea. However, the waiting time at busy hours is kind of long and their priority is people who get appointments , so I get experience and usually come on time or late with confirm calls. read more

Nails chipped after a few days, they didn't paint close to the nail bed *at all* so the nail looked grown out the day they were done, also, they didn't paint consistently...so there was a light purple that turned darker down the nail and a "ripple" look with the clear coat, because the application was so sloppy and didn't start in the same spot. read more

I'm only giving this one extra star than one because my initial experience wasn't too bad. The salon is nice. They offer sangria and other drinks. I came in for a fill. The acyriic on one of my finger was cracked prior to me coming in. I told the nail tech this, and she put some glue in the broken crack to correct it. I've never had broken acrylic before this, so I didn't know that I probably should've just asked her to just re-do the whole nail, instead of just putting some glue on it. This isn't why I'm giving the salon two stars. The woman that did my fill in was actually extremely sweet, she even did designs on my nails for no extra charge. A few days later, the nail cracked again in the same exact place, and caused a lot of bleeding. FAST FORWARD! I go back to Cosmo to get my one nail fixed. The owner, YoYo, was SOOOOOOO FREAKING RUDE OMFG. First of all, I walk in and I'm not greeted. What kind of nail salon doesnt greet you upon entry? I have to literally walk over to her to show her my nail and tell her what I would like done. She then says to me "Okay well go find the color." (Mind you, the nail tech who did my nails the week before CHOSE my color for me. She picked it out, so I didn't know the exact name of the color). No that isn't Yoyo's fault. But once I explained that to her.. she says to me... "Well you're going to have to figure it out." EXCUSE ME?!? I'm sitting there pissed.. (meanwhile, might I add, other customers are walking in with no appointments and she's seating them and tending to them before addressing my concerns). I'm annoyed as hell, but I need my nail fixed. So I look for the color.. Can't find it, duh. So she walks over to me after 3 years (lol) and is like "It'll be $5 to fix your nail." ... I don't mind paying $5 but I explained to her I didn't understand why I needed to pay anything if my nail wasn't fixed properly in the first place causing it to break. She goes "Well you would have had to pay $5 that day anyway to fix it." ....Lady... I understand that. And I would have had no problem paying $5 that day, but that wasn't suggested or offered to me. Only thing that was offered was a quick glue fix. So she's really going back and forth with me in front of customers about $5. Then says "Well you cant find the color so Idk what you want me to do." I just left. That was ridiculous. Bottom line.. not a bad salon but the owner needs a slice of humble pie. read more

Not only did they schedule me with an unrealistic time for An appointment, they forced me to wait knowing it would be a long time before I would be seen. Just be honest and don't waste my time! I do think their gel manis are better than their normal ones - the normal polish is often thick and goopy, so it takes foreevvvverrr for your nails to dry. This time, I spent 20 minutes under the dryer but my nails were still super soft to the touch by the time I had to leave. I liked my experience this time, but it was ruined at the end because of this. Cosmo should remove old polish from the wall and replace. Also, they used to carry normal OPI but now only use Essie. You can usually find street parking, but be aware of the zoned areas - a ticket would be double the cost of your manicure!! Overall, pros - -easily accessible neighborhood -good prices (my normal manicure was only $16) -champagne, water, or tea which you arrive Cons - -goopy nail polish -long drying time under weak fans -no normal OPI polish -cramped spaces read more

I will not be returning to this nail salon. The tech I booked an appt with left before my appt and didn't bother telling me. No problem, I still wanted to be serviced. Arrived at 6:15. Took 1.5 hours for me to get a pedicure. I soaked for about 30 mins while waiting for a tech. Then was told to wait 15 minutes for someone to do my acrylic nails. At this point it's 8:30 and I've been waiting 30 mins for someone to do my nails (or even address me). Finally I ask if someone will be able to service me and I'm told I'll need to wait 30 more minutes possibly or longer. I would hate to assume that I was treated this way because of the color of my skin, but it seems that way. They were courteous and prompt with their other customers but no so much with me I will not be returning to this salon as they seem to exhibit racism and poor customer service skills. I had Yvonne. I tipped her wonderfully because that's just my character but I was not satisfied with my experience here. From the beginning, I was uncomfortable. My nail tech kept repeatedly making loud comments about how 'dry' my feet were. It was very unprofessional -- particularly when she'd cal over a colleague to laugh while performing my service. Further, my toes were left bleeding and after 72 hours, are still swollen from her insensitive, rough work. Moreover, I wanted an SNS full set with tips and I wanted a design on two fingers. I expressed that I didn't know the process because I hadn't done this before. Rather than inform me that the red polish might stain the other lighter colored nails, my nails were just stained. To fix this, Yvonne covered it with gel since the design needed to be done in gel as well. I truly do appreciate the effort made to complete the design despite it being unsatisfactory, hence my still tipping. But even while she was doing my manicure, she kept remarking how dry my hands were (they werent) loudly. It was embarrassing. At the end of my service, she gave me a free sugar scrub to wash my hands with. That was nice but it didn't negate the embarrassment prior. I appreciated her effort to meet my expectations of the design but she shouldn't have been so rude and my nails that I paid a hefty sum for should not already be chipping. I got my nails done on Friday night. Monday morning, my nails were already chipping. Please be more cognizant of the way you treat your customers. Despite everyone having a drink in the salon I wasn't even offered anything until I had been there for two hours. I spent three hours there and I'm not coming back. read more

I was recommended to try sns here by a friend and while the atmosphere was fun, the manicure itself was a disaster. If you are interested in trying sns make sure to not get tips, they are extremely fragile and three of my nails broke in the first 4 days! I have requested a full refund because it is unacceptable that my nails break from opening a soda can or catching a door. Yoyo the owner assured me that she would be in touch but after hearing nothing I tried to call her cell and found that she told me that she would refund me $15 and there was no guarantee on sns. I don't live near this salon so going back was not an option. Very poor customer service. read more

Michelle was my technician, and she did a fabulous job on french gel manicure--asked me my preferences for shape of the french part of the polish, even. Cosmo Nail Bar has given me the best nail salon experience I have ever had. The location, service and prices are all on point and this will definitely be my new permanent nail salon. I made an appointment and was serviced as soon as I arrived. The staff there are all nice looking! The salon is clean and the color choices are fantastic. There isn't a shortage of good colors, and they also don't use off brands that I've never heard of. OPI and Essie! The pedicure chairs are plush and comfortable, and they have massage capabilities as well. The best part about the chairs is the fact that they don't hurt like the massage chairs do in other salons I've been to. The massages actually feel wonderful. The fact that this salon offers tasty sangria and wine is a plus! (I'd like a mimosa during my morning visits, but they can work on that later lol) My manicure and pedicure were both very thorough and enjoyable. The gel manicure includes hot wax dip for your hands...I'm not sure if that's included with regular manicures or not. Anyway, I didn't feel like I was being rushed through my services at all, and my nail technicians Melanie & Mollie are the absolute best!
