I have used Cosmo Repair for iPad, iPhone, and most recently Samsung Note 4. These guys are very nice and are customer oriented, but you need to be informed on what you are paying for when you go there. If you want a quick fix, Cosmo is the place to go. Like other local repair shops they use aftermarket parts that are "high-quality" as customers are told, but they are not OEM, and you should not expect it to be as strong when it comes to glass, or the display to be the same quality or have the same pixels per inch as OEM. Most people will not notice or care, but if you are one that can tell the difference in color temperature and display sharpness you will see its inferior. Manufacturers retain tight control of supply to distribution through authorized factory repair centers that get the original parts. In most cases, Samsung and Apple handle their repairs directly at a higher cost than Cosmo, and sometimes may take longer. So you pay more, wait longer, but are assured to get original parts. For us in Los Angeles, you can go to the Apple Store, and for Samsung you can call them and they will give you the local repair center on Wilshire. If they have the parts in stock, they take an hour, but Samsung will not advertise the center unless you ask. Now my last visit was for a cracked Note 4 glass, not LCD screen. I experienced something similar that Brenda E. Reviewer described. I was not informed my LCD could crack. Well it did, I asked for an OEM part replacement and Ben scrambled to get one and did not charge me the alleged higher cost, I however now was asked to pay for the standard LCD. I did not expect to pay for it because the disclosure was not properly done on the potential issue of LCD screen crack. I was not informed "." I had no choice and sucked it up. Needless to say I picked my phone up later that evening with what I was told was OEM replacement LCD part. Well I could tell it was not OEM right away, I informed Ben his supplier was not reliable, as I do believe he paid and thought he got an OEM part. I had no choice but to take it. Unfortunately a few weeks later another short drop created a small hairline crack. If it was an OEM part, it would be Gorilla Glass an would have been able to sustain this type of drop. Now I called Ben twice in the past 3 weeks asking him to see about replacement screen which I would pay for again. The first time I asked for OEM, he never got back to me, likely because he could not source it. A call would have been nice. Regardless, I called him again this week telling him the entire LCD was out after another drop, and I had to get a new phone and was fine with a standard aftermarket LCD as I need to get data off. Again he said he would have to get back to me because he did not have stock. Still waiting for that call back... Bottom line, I would say Cosmo does high volume aftermarket repairs and are generally okay, but they take risks other shops would not which can work out to your benefit if they are successful. After calling a few shops, I found out that on the newer Samsung phones, they would not replace just the glass because it would crack the LCD because of the bonding. Now imagine what that is like with newer curved screens too. At any rate I would not recommend a glass replacement, as other shops don't take that risk. Hopefully they will update their disclosure form, change their glass replacement policy, and ensure customers are informed. They are overall good guys meaning well, but seems they are too busy to follow up and need to revise some policies and re-train intake on disclosures of what you are actually paying for and potential issues. I can see how others would be irate in this situation, I was fairly upset as well. I am going to take my phone to the local Samsung repair center in Los Angeles, it will cost more, but I will get the right parts. I would use Cosmo in the future for devices I know they could fix in their sleep like older iPhones, IPads, etc...but high end devices I personally would go to manufacture going forward or an authorized repair center. Know what you are paying for and you should be fine. read more

I've done the expensive, well-known name places for the clean, professional feeling and the behind-the-car wash places for the value, and Cosmo has both! Had my iPhone 6 front glass replaced here after I dropped my phone. It's not quite as perfectly done as when I've had the glass replaced by Apple - there is a tiny line visible on the front of the glass now. But they did a good job (the line is really minor, not noticeable enough for me to say anytime to them at the time), replaced the glass really quickly (about 30 minutes) and gave me a free tempered glass screen protector, which I thought was a little weird that they put on without asking beforehand, but it is nice and if it'll save me breaking my phone again I won't complain. Overall good experience, would recommend. Not quite the cheapest or best phone repair I've had but overall very good. read more

I came here for iphone screen repair, a service I hate to admit I've had several times and at different service providers. The technician was friendly but the repair was not good, as I had flaws on the display after they finished. These went away when I took the phone to another repair place, so it wasn't a problem inherent to the phone. And Cosmo was more expensive than any of the other repair services I have used. I was looking for a place to get my mother's IPhone 5 battery replaced on 2/26/17 and I wanted to go somewhere convenient due to the rain. We went to Cosmo since it opened at 11 am on Sundays, as I would need to take her to the airport to return home. The technician opened up right on time and was very friendly and helpful in describing the replacement process, cost and wait time. The cost to replace an IPhone 5 battery was much less than I expected. He finished the replacement early and explained the 3 month warranty before we left the store. My kids broke the screen on their iPad recently. At first I thought it was totaled, but I decided to try to get it fixed rather than buy a new one so I wouldn't have to spend a bunch on a new one at the holidays. I got several estimates before a friend referred me to Cosmo in Pasadena. I was really impressed with the service I got! Despite the fact that the edges of the iPad were slightly deformed after it was dropped, Cosmo staff repaired it the same day for the lowest price. You can't even tell that the iPad was ever dropped. I had two iPad screens repaired here, which was fine. But on one of them the screen started cracking right after, so I brought it back to have them fix it. They interpreted it as physical damage and refused to replace the screen. So it's your word against their opinion. I was basically told I was lying. If your iPad is banged up from previous use, don't bother having them fix your screen, because they won't honor their guarantee. read more

I purchased a Groupon to get my teen's screen repaired here. I called first to make sure it was all kosher, and even said "iPhone 5C" when I called. The person I spoke with responded with "Yep, no problem. Bring it in." So we show up, Groupon in hand. The person there then very kindly told me the Groupon doesn't apply to the 5C. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager told me the same. So I asked if we could just apply the amount I had paid for the Groupon ($110) towards the $160 for the 5C repair. "No, that's not how we do it." So I asked what I was supposed to do now. "You'll have to call Groupon and get a refund." It seemed like he was just too busy to help me figure this out, and apparently didn't want my business. I said I felt mislead and left. We took the phone down the street to Reboot. I was walking around the pasadena outdoor mall on Colorado blvd, and thought I'd see if I could get the battery of my iPhone 6S plus fixed. After a year of heavy use, my battery would be fully depleted in only a few hours but when the phone was new the battery would last for well over 24 hours. I didn't think much could be done but figured I'd see. The man who helped me was very knowledgeable and attentive. He assured me he could get my battery running like new within 30 minutes by replacing it with a new battery. Within 30 minutes I had my phone back and sure enough, the battery lasted until the next day! It was like I had a new iPhone! It cost $65 and I realize I could have possibly used my insurance plan but considering the hassle, I thought it was worth paying $65 for the instant help. If you need expert advice and quick service this is the place. My husband had a problem with the speakers on his iPhone. The Apple Genius bar told him that they couldn't fix the speakers and wanted to sell him an upgraded model. He loves his S6 and was heart broken. By chance Cosmo was close by and open so we stopped in. Within 5 minutes they diagnosed the problem as not a speaker issue but network problem. I was recommended this shop by a friend who said they did cheap repairs on damaged iPhone screens. Unfortunately I was rather disappointed with the repair itself. They offer two level screens, their own or the original IPhone make. I chose the lower level screen simply because it was cheaper but should have chosen the original iPhone version. The screen is less sensitive to pressured touch and there is a glare in the camera when FaceTiming or taking pictures. There is a glitch in the top left section of my phone and the brightness on full is rather pathetic. Overpriced for poor quality read more
