Love having metro ale house in downtown Pomona, it is a much needed addition to the couple of spots that have been here for years! The happy hour is great! Lots of apps-fried zucchini, tacos etc...all delicious and cheap!! The bartenders are really nice too and the restaurant is clean and open! Just eh, burger was cooked okay, a tad rare for medium, flavor was ok but extremely lack luster compared to the many new gastropubs around. Had the firehouse burger. Guacamole is literally a spread, very under served, a few jalapenos and some cheese and onions/lettuce. I had an amazing burger at chili's last week that rivals many around town, some of the best and my husband I are extremely picky with how we spend our money on food, hes an incredible cook, but we like to get out now and again. Wine was mediocre and I got top house, Sutter home was my other option, onion rings were ok, but not anything to rave about. Service was good, there were maybe 5 in house at 4pm, not a good sign on a Friday. Probably wont be back. But the food was warm and affordable, ambiance is ok, nice pub type. Just needs to be kicked up a lot, too much competition out there to not go big. The place has a lot of potential, maybe a great night life but not late lunch or early dinner in my opinion. read more

My sisters and I drove out to Pomona a few days ago to get matching tattoos over at Ink'd Chronicles! After we were finished we were all pretty hungry and asked the guys at the shop if they knew of a good place to grab some grub and good beer. Without hesitation they sent us to Metro Ale House! Upon walking in we were greeted by the bartender/server! The vibes inside were cool and it just kept getting better. The same guy that greeted us when we walked in came over to our table and immediately made us feel soooo welcomed. His name is Angel and Metro Ale House is LUCKY to have him there. Because of HIM, we will be back and bringing more friends. He always had a smile on his face! And was so pleasant to interact with. He was friendly and kind and very knowledgeable of the menu and beers. He suggested an IPA for me and it was DELICIOUS. He answered every question we had and was very attentive to all his tables. Then yesterday when I recently went I had the metro house burger which is a huge burger with an egg includes. Let's just say it was fabulous. The patty on the burger was the size of a huge steak. I was very disappointed today when i went in to watch the 49er game. I had to ask like 3 times if they can change one of the TV to the 49er game, since only post games was on that tv. The 2nd floor was a private 49er fan party, since the rest of the people who were 49ers fan on the 1st floor were not part of that. I came here on Mothers' day and it was great. They had a buffet deal for only 25$ with so many great options of food. I am vegan and there were plenty of items to choose from! The service was great and the owner even stopped by our table to check up on us. They gave roses to all the moms and I thought that was a great idea. Really good Pastrami and zucchini. Loved the grilled pastrami and the condiments. The zucchini are fried in panko so they are extra fresh and crunchy. A little noisy, but it is a bar.
