Our family of 8 had a great experience at Cosmos last night... it's a go-to spot every summer now for delicious pizza, friendly service, and over-all value. There's a spot up front for the little kids to play while waiting for a table, which is a nice touch. Our waitress was terrific, too. I just had a very unsatisfactory experience with an order. My husband ordered an antipasto salad for my dinner. When he got home I discovered they had given him a small garden salad ($2 less) and not much of a dinner. The woman who answered the phone very flippantly said, "well I'm sorry you didn't get what you ordered ma'am, but we're very busy and people do make mistakes. No offer to solve the problem. No real feeling of apology in her voice. I guess they are so busy they don't care and don't need our business. We'll never eat there again. I am very disappointed with the service that I did not receive from this restaurant. Yes, I did not receiv service !! After waiting for the waitress for almost an hour, my wife, kids and I decided to leave the establishment. All we were served was our drinks that we ordered when we first came in. You would think that the place was packed, WRONG! It was not! The waitress took the order for our drinks and then for some odd reason, she did not return to our table after the drinks were served. We were never even asked what we wanted to order... The waitress would clearly assist all the customers around our table but not us. She would avoid eye contact with us like we were not there. So, I asked myself... what could the reason be?!? I do not like to bring race into anything... I have worked hard for everything I own and will continue to do so... I dont need sympathy from anyone... but, the only thing different from my table to all the other tables that were occupied in that restaurant, was the fact that i m a minority and my kids are a product of an interracial relationship ( mom is white) . All other tables were occupied by white people and were being served.. kind of funny...huh?!? Well it was certainly the first and the last time we step inside of Cosmo's. I was in OBX for a family reunion and on our first night, we all got in late and didn't want to fire up anything in the kitchen of the house we rented. So one of my uncles suggested a seafood place nearby that he ate at for lunch. We all got in our respective cars (convoy of 4 vehicles) and followed him to his suggestion. After 20 minutes of driving around with wrong turns, losing cars, and people not paying attention to where cars were going (I'll post the story if people are interested), we ended up at Cosmo's Pizzeria. It's a small joint where the 14 people in our party (we lost 3 of them) pretty much filled half the restaurant. As we were all hungry, we went simple and ordered a cheese, a supreme, a sausage/pepperoni, and a sausage/mushroom. It was plenty for all of us plus leftovers. We all inhaled them as we laughed about what had just transpired on the way over. It wasn't the best pizza I've had, but better than average. My only complaint is that the drinks tasted funny. My cousin had lemonade with a funny aftertaste and my Sprite left the same remnants in my mouth. We figures it was the water between the lemonade and the ice used for the Sprite. read more

It isn't a beach trip without Cosmos! I definitely consider this to be a hidden gem down at the OBX. If you're a true fan of New York style, this is the best you're going to get at the beach- great flavor and just the right amount of cheese and sauce. I've never had any complaints. The dining room isn't very large, but I've never seen the place too crowded. The other location in Corolla is actually smaller, so I definitely recommend the Kitty Hawk location if you want to dine in. I highly recommend this place if you're going to do a pizza night on your vacation! read more

I'm pretty sure most people confuse this Cosmos with the Cosmos in Corolla. As far as I can tell by them having different websites, different menus and way different quality of food they are not associated. This place has mediocre pizza and after that it all goes down hill. I got a sandwich also. It was heated with all the vegetables on it and meat tastes like it was bought at the dollar store on clearance. The ham had that funky "not real" pork flavor. The jalapeño poppers were mass produced which I expected, but there fryer must not have been hot enough because they were soft, not crunchy. I will not eat here again. read more

Got a pizza to go, very impressed with the easy going nature of the staff. I grew up in the shadow of NYC on Long Island, and good pizza, up to my standards, is hard to find outside of the metro NY area. This is very close. We went with classic pepperoni, so I have a good basis of comparison. Outside of NY, and I've had lots of pizza in lots of places, this is damn good. Cosmo's has awesome NY style pizza in NC which rivals some of the best I've had, even growing up on Long Island. Wish this place was closer to my adopted town of Raleigh, NC. First time visiting Kitty Hawk and was looking for a quick family favorite. Stumbled upon Cosmo's and thought we had a winner. Placed my order and paid. Was told it should be ready in 15 minutes so I sat down and waited. 10 minutes into the wait I had to stop the order. Which they understood and promptly returned my money. Out the corner of my eye I spotted mice running from under the drink cooler. This isn't to bash the pizza because we didn't get to have any but it is to let people know that there is a great health concern going on at this establishment and when I told another shop of my experience THEY immediately named Cosmo's without hesitation. There's a bug in the garlic powder! Clearly these are not checked/cleaned weekly as they should be. When the food came out the chicken on the chicken parm was so tough I could barely chew it. Went here based on strong Yelp reviews. (I'm a sucker for places where people say they've been going there for years.) I was not disappointed. We walked in and there were lots of old folks eating. Always a good sign when it comes to a pizza place, IMO. The decor is nothing fancy -- there's a half-dozen booths and a few tables. We were at a table + I got to stare at photos of celebrities (what up, James Gandolfini?) while we waited for our food. I had a side salad to start. I had to pick most of the cheese off to actually see vegetables. Seriously, there was about a half cup of cheese on a small salad! But ohhhhh, was that cheese good -- I knew it portended good things for the pizza. We split a small (12") pizza - half cheese, half pepperoni. If I could do it again, I'd go all cheese. Yummy chewy crust, tangy sauce, perfectly gooey cheese. We left with happy, full bellies. I'll definitely go back on a future trip to the OBX. read more

Great Pizza, best on the beach without a doubt. It's the closest thing to NY pizza I've experienced in Dare County. The best Outer Banks pizza. We get Cosmos the first night we hit the beach and everyone loves it. We look forward to it on the drive down. They never disappoint. Their speciality pizzas are best. Con carne, Supreme and white pizzas are our favs. Prices are about what to expect for the beach but pizzas come with lots of toppings. Never eat in the dining room but it looks quaint. read more

Okay so for starters masks are required for the customers and only four people are allowed inside at once which is adhering to social distancing. The county mandate says if you can be six feet in distance no mask is required. I ordered a sub and it was soggy due to the Italian dressing but other than that the sub was amazing. The staff were not in masks but before COVID they didn't have to wear them either. They are in a hot kitchen and wearing a mask will make them pass out from the heat. This is my go to pizza place for subs I will not go anywhere else on the OBX. Staff is very nice and answer the phones pretty quickly. I recommend them over any other place read more

We liked it so much we visited twice during our short stay:) I have kids and they have the perfect menu! You get a lot of value for the price and the food is awesome! Service is friendly and fast!(which is also good when you have hungry kids :) One of my daughter's loves fried pickles which was a major draw, and their pizza was a hit!
