Large pizza (they have M, L, XL). It's a conveyor belt pizza made by teenagers, but it is CRISP with good ingredients.

They should sell slices. They need large slices from a large house sized pie. No slices though... they just tell you to get a small pie. For a place in a busy shopping center and now across the lot from a brewery, it would be so nice to just walk in, grab a slice, and immediately walk out with it vs. waiting 15+ minutes. The pizza is conveyor belt pizza made by teenagers, but it is crisp and with good ingredients. It could be a lot worse and the best option in town since a soundfront place closed a few years ago. It is a very convenient food option from the Duck Dive Bar. They'll give you a remote that will work from the brewery so you know when food is ready. It'd be even better if you could order direct from the Duck Dive Bar bartenders. You'll enjoy the pizza unless you are a NY/NJ pizza snob (like me) or Dave Portnoy fan. Then it is what he calls "football pizza". Good To-go pizza to enjoy with a game

As someone from just outside New Haven, CT--the (albeit, self-proclaimed) pizza capital--I don't say this lightly: Duck Pizza is the best pizza I've ever had. I am gluten free and am constantly disappointed by the pizza options I find, but Duck Pizza knocked it out of the park. Their gluten-free crust was not only delicious fresh out of the oven, but somehow just as good cold the next day (the true test!). The staff and owners were incredibly friendly and accommodating--truly going out of their way to be kind and welcome us to the town. I was visiting for a week and ended up eating Duck Pizza three times--that alone should tell you how good it is. If you're gluten-free and missing out on really good pizza, or even if you're not, this place is 100% worth it. Not in a hurry? Duck Pizza is located in a great little center with some awesome local shops. I loved being able to place my order and stroll around while I waited--it turned grabbing a meal into a whole experience.

This place is fast and accurate. We placed our order and drove there and it was ready- hot and fresh. Thin crust and make sure to order them with extra sauce. Easy weeknight meal for everyone- nice they have gluten free crust and vegan cheese!

Pizza and cheesey bread was good. They made it quickly and it was coming out of the oven when we came in the door.

Pizza is overcooked. Hard and dry. Maybe turn the over down by 10 degrees? Or speed up the conveyer belt by 10 seconds?

"Fast, convenient, good takeout Italian sandwiches, entrees, and more"…read more Punchline-- pass on the sandwiches (tasty but not big) and go for the entrees (giant and similarly priced) We ordered some takeout from this place based on positive Yelp reviews. Fortunately, Yelp came through for us! Note, although some things mention that you can eat in, at the time of this review, there were no visible tables inside-- it seemed to be a takeout only operation. Also, some of the online menus are now wrong-- they list all the meals and sandwiches as coming with a drink included, but they do not do so any longer. We opted for sandwiches and dishes, but they do have some desserts too-- we didn't partake this time. Service: very friendly, both when ordering and during pickup. They also warned us as we ordered about the menu/ drink change mentioned above, which helped prevent any unpleasant surprises. Food: Two of us got sandwiches and two got meals. Mozzarella caprese & Italian cheesesteak sandwiches -- both very good. Each came with a side of chips. But my family members who got these finished their food for dinner and found themselves still hungry. Note, these sandwiches cost $14. Lasagna & eggplant parmigiana -- These came with garden salads (though you could opt for bread for the eggplant parm). GIANT. It was a vat of food. I will say that a lot of the weight was the delicious tomato sauce, so there's a reason to consider getting bread. But even still-- I didn't finish my meal, nor did the other person who ordered one. These cost $16-17. Quite a contrast to the folks who ordered the sandwiches. Synopsis: Go for the entrees. WAY better value. And worth hitting up this place more generally for takeout if you want a break from seafood.

It has always been good, and we definitely won't let this deter us from returning. Ms T had her usual Shrimp basket lunch. The issue was that the shrimp were not cooked through. They were still translucent. We totally understand not wanting to overcook shrimp, but these were not quite done. On the bright side she commented on how good the slaw was. I have been on a kick to try barbecue at restaurants that are not barbecue joints per se, to see if I can find some hidden gems. For example, both Sam & Omie's and Wanchese Marina serve a good barbecue sandwich. Black Pelican, at least on this day, does not. I must say, the serving was huge. This was more than enough for two meals for me. The barbecue was dry and not well flavored. The texture and flavor was more like dried out beef that has been over-roasted. This is not something I would order again here. All that being said, I am leaving the rating for Black Pelican as it is because we have always had good meals here. I accept that it can't be 100% perfect every time and sooner or later we will run into something that is less than stellar. We will continue to return. I just know this not where I will have barbecue and we are sure the shrimp thing was just a one timer.

We beat the crowds and got a table on the upstairs patio. It technically looks out over the ocean, though from our spot, it was mostly a view of the sand! We ordered their famous recommended dish and said it was amazing. My Salmon was great too! The only downside? The service really went downhill after the food arrived. Despite being the only ones on the patio, our waiter never checked back in. A couple of waitresses were just hanging out by the bar on their phones, too. Eventually, one of them noticed our cleared plates, asked about dessert, and just brought the bill. No "how was everything?" or "can I get you anything else?"--which was a bummer for such a highly recommended spot!

She even grabbed my friend by the wrist to get her point across. Completely unacceptable. I went over calmly to try to smooth things over and asked her to clarify the rule. Instead, she erupted in my face and put her hand in my face. We were genuinely trying to understand because we were visiting and had never heard of this "2 drink rule." There was absolutely no reason for this level of hostility. Rules can be explained. Customers can be corrected. You do not scream in someone's face or put your hands on them. When we left, I told the guy at the front who collects money and stamps hands what had happened. His response was basically, "Oh yeah, the girl (bartender)? Yeah, sorry." Apparently, this behavior wasn't exactly a surprise. A simple explanation would have been enough. Instead, this bartender completely ruined the vibe and made us feel incredibly unwelcome. Our kind Server gave us all the information we needed and we didn't plan on Happy Hour but why not as they offered delicious apps and drinks. We ordered the Fritto Misto (perfectly fried calamari/shrimp), Baked Meatballs (delicious) and a Caesar Salad that came with anchovies (we usually have to ask). For wine (all part of Happy Hour), it was Pinot Grigio Sassi), Rose (Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo) and Pinot Noir (Franco Serra)-all tasty and paired well with our dinner. We all wanted pasta especially since they made their own and they had a few options. We ordered the Malfadine (first time having this pasta -resembles torn up lasagna pieces given the ridges, sausage, pesto all played nicely together), Lumache (short rib and vodka sauce-delicious!-who knew?) and Radiatore (Carbonara with Pork Belly-usually Guanciale, pancetta etc. but the Belly worked!). We liked that the Pasta portions were just right (still had leftovers despite) and priced accordingly. Evan took great care of us. He was attentive and so engaged! What a find! Our entrees reminded me of the deliciousness we had in Rome. Happy Hour was also impressive. Definitely now on our list of musts at the Beach-we will be back!
