I waited 15 minutes for water. Water that tasted soapy and was placed there not by the waitress but by those who bus the tables. My sister and I literally looked every waitress in the eye hoping they were going to come to our table. Apparently no one got the memo that we were their table. So after 15 minutes of not getting served or even acknowledged we left. You have one job. I get it, it was busy. So glad they built this new Cosmos Restaurant. It had been our favorite place for breakfast and the new location is the same. We drive over 20 miles one way just to eat there. The service is fast, portions are very large and food quality great. Good prices and a huge menu to select from. Arrive early as this place is soon packed on weekends. They heard about our appointment, they took our order while waiting for a table and have the food promptly brought to the table as we were sitting! Call it musical chairs. Usually when we go, we go much earlier. This time we went to breakfast on Sunday morning, right around 11am, which is prime time for breakfast. Yes, we expected crowds. The waitress was pleasant. But, it seems she was a bit rushed. We barely got our menus and she asked us if we knew what we wanted yet? We asked for more time. The food arrived and was excellent. However, there was another party coming in. The wait staff asked if they could take one chair to add to that table. No problem. The family comes in, moves the chair back. "We don't need this." OK. A few minutes later, another wait staff asks to take a chair. A few minutes after that, they take the other chair without asking After that, the chair returned once again. I mentioned to my husband, "We're lucky they aren't jerking the chairs out from beneath us." Interruptions!!! Throughout the meal, we felt rushed. I realize that this is prime time for any restaurant that serves breakfast, but the undercurrent of the waitresses being hurried and frequently coming over and asking if we needed anything else, taking plates away when we barely put the fork down, etc. Not good. If you want a great dining experience at Cosmos, some suggestions: Go when they open and well before the weekend rush. Or, go during the week days. You can enjoy your meal without wait staff coming over every few minutes to subtly hurry you along. Speaking of which: Right up front, tell the wait staff to slow down and give you time. Tell them to take away any extra chairs ahead of time as you do not want to be interrupted throughout the meal with musical chairs. read more

I went into cosmos the day after my wedding for a brunch with my family. We made a reservation, and it is true that 4 members of my family were running behind, but 5 minutes into waiting for them they began to badger us about when they were going to show up. Several members of their staff, including the owner, continually asked us where they were and if they could take the table away. We finally resolved to be rude and order without them when the owner came up to us and told us to leave. I have never been so disrespected by ANYONE in the SERVICE industry before, let alone an owner. I, and every member of my family that was there, will NEVER go to this place again! read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in this town but I've never ordered takeout from this restaurant before and I never will again. Probably my fault for not telling a restaurant who specializes in creating food quickly to not place all of the lettuce pickles tomatoes and onions on the bottom of the takeout container with the french fries and the the sandwich. The hamburger and the philly steak were incredibly soggy, the fries were inedible, and it made it to difficult to even attempt to eat. Also ordered French toast which, again my fault for not specifically asking, I would expect to come with syrup and butter. I was going to return all of the food but my sick wife wanted to eat because she was hungry. So. If ordering from here, be very specific in ordering all items including expected items and how the food should be packaged because they do not have enough experience in this area apparently. read more

I came here with family on Easter Sunday around 1:30. The place was extremely busy for obvious reasons. We were promptly seated and the waitress consistently visited our table throughout the meal. This place is pretty popular in Fort Wayne, but I don't think it lives up to the hype. Personally, I was not overly impressed with the food. We all ordered breakfast, and it just seemed...lackluster? I tried Cosmo's skillet because it was a combination of eggs, hash browns, and chicken tenders (I was imagining something like chicken and waffles). Unfortunately, it was flavorless grilled chicken over eggs and potatoes. Not very appetizing. Another person in my bunch ordered spiced apple pancakes. She thought the spiced apples would be in the pancakes. Again, they were just crunchy and/or canned spiced apples over pancakes. The omelettes were bland as well. This place has great service and a great atmosphere (something I can't say about many places), but the food just wasn't up to par. I could make a better breakfast than what we were served, which I why I have rated Cosmos 3/5. read more
