Unfortunately the customer experience here is not on brand with other cost cutters locations I am used to. I walked in to find 4 stylists sitting in their chairs having a conversation with each other, one of them hopped up and immediately asked if I had an appointment. (I did not) I asked if one was required and she said "normally yes". In my experience every Cost Cutters location I have ever been to thrives on walk in appointments. She then told me to wait and she would see if she could fit me in. I sat for about 10 minutes as all 4 employees continued to sit and talk with each other. Towards the end of this one appointment did walk in for one of the stylists. After those 10 minutes (and likely when it became apparent that I was going to wait) one of the employees asked me to come back. To be clear I had no issue with waiting as a walk in, but to sit and wait for them when they were very clearly just goofing off was an issue for me. The person who cut my hair was friendly and did a good job, but the prices are high (compared to Great Clips or other similar places) and they didn't seem to care if they had my business. I really have no idea if they are any good. Tried to make an appointment, but after reading a review saying they were pricier than most cost cutters, I went to their web site for pricing. There was none. Tried to look for pics or bios of the stylists - there was only a list of names. They seemed to want you to book online with each service being added separately: wash, cut, blow dry, style - but still no prices showing. So I called. Picked option to talk to a live person. It rang and rang until a machine picked up. No opportunity to leave a message to call me when they had time - just a message telling me to try later. I'm not wasting time calling over and over until they decided to answer the phone. Not a way to run a business. UPDATE: Just called back and someone answered. I said I was looking to make an appointment for my 92 year old mother and I wondered what it would cost for a wash, cut and style for a senior. Marcus is fabulous and the whole staff was nice and helpful. First we went in for my sons hair who's 15 and particular about his hair. Marcus listened to what he wanted and did just that. So I decided to give him a try. I've never had my hair cut at cost cutters but I went for the whole shambang. Marcus did an amazing job on my highlights and cut. Very pleased. I have going to Cost Cutters for over five years now. I had an appointment for today at the Stroh Ranch location for 12:30PM. When I arrived at 12:31, my appointment had already been given away. One. Minute. Late. When I asked why, I was told that they were under orders to give away spots that were late - even by 1 minute. Never mind the fact I have waited 5-15 minutes past MY scheduled appointment time on multiple occasions, while they finished up other customers. Never mind the fact I have NEVER been late before in over five years of visits. Never mind the fact I drove 25 minutes because my preferred hairstylist happened to be at this location on this day. Never mind the fact I tip a minimum of $5 on $17.50 haircuts- every time. I understand giving away an appointment if a person is consistently late or even 5 mintutes late. But 1 minute late, 1 single time?! When there was only 1 person waiting?! Hypocrites. You have no problem making your customers wait if you're running late but God forbid one of your consistent customers is late by 1 minute. Not that you care (and obviously your corporation doesn't since there is no way to reach them to complain) You have lost my business forever. What a waste of a lunch hour. read more

They cannot get it right. To start, there is a sign right at the front desk proclaiming "online check-in" but good luck doing this. The website is not navigable...at all. Next, this location is always understaffed! 45 min to a hour wait is not ever reasonable. Lastly, the piece for a mediocre haircut goes up every time I go in. Terrible customer service. Maile cut my hair today at the Cost Cutters at Stroh Road & Parker Road. She insulted me the minute I sat in the chair. "Oh my, what do we have here? Red hair on the top and blonde on the bottom? Was this a box dye job?" I couldn't believe it. Yes, I can't afford to get my hair colored professionally so I do it at home, and with time I'm sure it washes out so it may have faded to blonde somewhat on the bottom but my goodness girl, don't insult your customers. Just cut their hair the way they request. I was not only stunned by this lack of professionalism but I also saw her business cards sitting there and it read "Manager". You're kidding me, right? When I think of a Manager, I think of someone a cut above the rest, someone to look up to, to be a mentor, someone who earned her way. I left no tip. I've never done that before. Well the people were great and easy to talk with but the lady who did my hair (I believe her name was Abby) cut my hair way to fast. I asked for layers and did I get layers? Nope. My hair is now cut into a short one length bob and it looks horrible. I have been through cosmetology school and had my hair professionally done many times and I know it takes longer than 10 minutes to cut layers correctly. If you don't know how to cut hair correctly and/ or the way your clients want then get out of the salon. Definitely will not be going back. read more

Avoid ASHLEY THE BUTCHER at this location! I went in with long hair, and showed her a photo of exactly what I wanted, a cut I had the previous time from another sytlist at this location, who was fantastic. Ashley the Butcher even said all she had to do was follow the cut... Now, uneven chuncks of hair stick out oddly, and my bangs stand straight up, I have been in tears for a week unable to style my hair in any presentable fashion. This girl was so concerned with everything going on in the shop except me, the customer in her chair. I had to keep trying to get her attention, trying to get her to focus on my hair, but it did no good. It will be months before my hair grows enough to even have a repair attempt by a real stylist. First off, let me say, I am not one to ever leave reviews about my past hair cut experiences because frankly, I have never had a great or consistent experience worth taking the time to do so, however, this wonderful stylist more than deserves my review as well as a 5-star rating. This was my third haircut at the Cost Cutters at Stroh Ranch in Parker, CO. I have always used Tamara and I cannot say enough good things about her. She is so friendly and always remembers my name which really makes me feel like I am a valued customer and not just a number as has been the case in all the other budges salons in Parker and elsewhere. She is a fantastic stylist and always listens to my needs and my cut is always great without any surprises. It has been years since I have had someone I felt comfortable with who gives a wonderful cut. I cannot say enough great things about her. She has earned my business for life. read more

Sigh! I shouldn't have gone back... Where should I begin. Your stylist Kristine is absolutely RUDE! She was MEAN towards my 12 year old son and should NOT be allowed to cut kids hair or anyone's hair for that matter with her attitude and what she did. She was rude towards me when asking what number to use on my sons hair. Me: I'm sorry I can't remember the clipper number do you have notes in his file? She's says, NO! If we kept notes on all of our clients it would be ridiculous. Meanwhile the stylist Amy next to me was mentioning the notes to her client and he uses a 4! Honestly. She was rude when I showed her the picture and then asked if she thought it was a 1 or 2. Her response, it's really short. Me: Okay, so does that mean 1 or 2? I ask my son if he's good with a 2 and he says yes so then I go to sit with my daughter. I can see her cutting his hair all looks fine, but my son seems kinda upset. I walk over and she's just about done. She's cleaning up around the ears and nicks him ( he makes a small ouch sound) and she doesn't say anything, like oh, sorry. So I say, are you ok & then she's like oh I accidentally got him. Sorry. My son is very quiet and just wants to leave. He's usually a good conversationalist, but super quiet this time. We pay, I tip (not knowing all that just went down) and then as we are walking out I ask my son again if he's okay and he is fighting back emotions. He's 12 so he's obviously upset, but not one to start crying. He says mom she was mean to me. I said excuse me? He said she nicked me another time and when I said oouch she said,"well stop jolting or I can get clippers that will nick you even harder"! EXCUSE ME!?!? It took everything in me to not walk back in and lose my mind on that lady. Who says that to a kid or anyone! Did you really just threaten him because he reacted to you nicking him with the clippers? Seriously! I immediately called (she answered) and I asked to speak to a manager. She said they didn't have one in. So I asked to speak to the person in charge and she said no one was available so I said I need to speak to whoever has the highest seniority. I just wanted someone there to know what had just happened. Amy got on the phone and I explained that I was just in there with my 12yr old son and what had happened. She seemed shocked that I was sharing what I did and apologized. She even said, it's not like he's 6 and can't sit still and I said yes, but even if he was six THAT is UNEXCEPTABLE behavior from a stylist at any age to threaten to hurt them more. She apologized again and we hung up. I am beside myself that someone who cuts hair would utter such words directly to a kid. I'm all for giving someone the benefit of the doubt, but she deserves no benefit at all!! Yes we have bad days, but to be so rude & then mean to a kid is not okay! It makes me sad because as we were waiting to go back an older lady was paying and seemed frazzled. Her card wasn't working and it took Amy to finally come help Kristine guide her and help the lady because her card was a chip not a swipe card. Amy was sweet about it waking around and showing her the steps and Kristine was bothered. As the lady left Amy said something about her being a little frazzled and KRISTINE chimmed in and said, " she was like that the whole time I was cutting her hair" I was trying not to assume anything, but now that I know what our experience was like it makes me wonder how she treated that lady! I was not able to get into the normal stylist Amy, who is fabulous but thought because my kiddos were just getting trims it would be OK. I was wrong. One stylist cut my daughters hair, which is all one length & just needed a trim and her hair is completely uneven now, cut it with a sideways part & pinned it up so wasn't able to see it until the next morning when we were leaving to go out of town. when I come back in town I call & they say they can only fix it at no charge if it is not within week?? What??! Why not just make it right?? I don't mind paying for a haircut, but I think cutting it to fix your mistake is the right thing to do. Especially since I've been a loyal customer. And the $12 haircut will not put you out of business. Same day, son gets haircut with different stylist- She sees picture & says she can do it and then asked him if he wants to go shorter, mind you he is 10. She should be asking the parent not the child, in my opinion. Hair ended up being way shorter than either of us wanted. She asked if I was upset? Yes, why are you not consulting the parent?? Amy did a great job on my son and Monique did a great job on my hair. There's no fancy plasmas or sports décor, but I was in and out quickly and they know how to cut hair. Needed a haircut desperately! Wanted to go short and was looking for a stylist close to home and convenient. Had been going to a salon and paying some big bucks! Wasn't sure about trying a Cost Cutters, but figured why not. SO GLAD I DID.
