Costa Vida was an absolute staple back in the day but honestly it's just ok these days. I first of all am very sad that they took the flan off the menu which was my favorite. They still have great dessert options but the flan was it. Also, their prices and portions are just ok. Some of the add ons are pretty pricy and an order can add up rather quickly. I got the sweet pork nachos and they were solid. But the line took a hot minute and the salsas and such were all mixed in together, just pretty messy overall. read more

11/17/25 I used to come here almost once a week. I loved it! The best I could say about my most recent experience is "meh." The serving counter was absolutely filthy, the servers had a lackadaisical attitude, and one server stopped serving behind the counter to refill every little thing including the plastic cup container, when only two things actually needed to be refilled. My and my son's food sat at the finished end of the oven for nearly 5 minutes before a different server came up and finished our order. Food wise, if you like sugar-loaded food this place is for you. I likely will not come back. It's too sweet for me and this experience left me with no desire to return. read more

Friendly staff remembered us from when we lived here four years ago! We love this restaurant, and we eat here almost every time we are in Farmington. Chips and queso are great! This place has gone downhill very recently. Food is good but the staff is very hostile and very unfriendly. Ordered a salad and asked for less meat but more rice and ended up getting charged for extra rice which doesn't make sense. They add on things quickly so it ends up being more than a sit-down restaurant. There are plenty of other good restaurants in town and would advise going elsewhere. read more

I ordered a sweet pork burrito with avocado and black beans etc, my order was confirmed for delivery. Great, after over an hour of my order being confirmed, my order was cancelled. No offer of getting a substitution etc. I was offered a 7$ inconvenience credit. So an hour of my time waiting for nothing is worth 7$, no i make beyond that an hour, not to mention it will now take 2-3 BUSINESS days to refund my money. What if I had spent the last of my money to order food? I find it mediocre service at best, you couldn't call and offer a substation? Cancel after over an hour? Thanks for wasting my time read more

Dinner | $10-20 I was given the wrong food, the staff was very confused. They couldn't keep the call in orders from getting mixed with those of us in the restaurant. I got home, realized I had half my order and someone else's. I went back with the wrong stuff and asked them to remake the nachos i didn't get. They asked me 3 times what kind of nachos and when I got home the small nacho had pork on it, that was wrong. I went back and they finally got it right. I spoke with the manager on duty who couldn't do anything but offer chips and queso or dessert for the inconvenience and the fact my food was home, now cold. I was a huge fan of Costa vida during my night in Farmington. This is similar to a chipotle or Qdoba and had options of enchiladas, burritos, and Baja bowls, which is what I got. I could customize my bowl with beans, rice, meat (you can upgrade to beef or other pork for additional fee), veggies, etc. I really enjoyed that they warmed up the bowl in a hot oven like they would for a sandwich. Everything was tasty and I enjoyed this bowl. Only complaint is that the bowl was soaking wet on the bottom so had to eat it on top of a bed of napkins and the bag it came in. I love Costa Vida. We eat here often. I usually order off the app and do take out as I am a busy working, college student, with a toddler. Tonight I had the worst experience I've ever had. I understand businesses get busy but how the situation was handled and not well managed at all. My order was given to the wrong customer. They let me know. They did not proceed to try to give me a refund or remake my food. I had to ask a second time about my order and they said they would remake it after that. They brought me another person's order after this and I told them it was not mine. The manager came with my order finally and said they made the order three times and don't know what happened to it. I waited for 45 min past my originally quoted time, had to send my husband and toddler home, and have a family member give me a ride home. read more

DAWG i went to this costa vida twice, the service the second time was shit compared to the first. the way I ordered an enchilada and the server said i ordered a quesadilla. He was in denial that i ordered a enchilada. He couldve just admitted being wrong and made things right. INSTEAD, yk what he did, he threatened to call the cops on us if we didn't pay for the quesadilla we never ordered. I was very sad and disappointed, that made me cry. i just wanted a beef enchilada. Worst part was that it was my friend's first time at costavida and now his view on this restaurant is so bad. Honestly I dont even like quesadillas so theres no way i could've ordered it and just forgot. This is way different then a worker having a bad day and coming off a little angry. When i called them afterwards hoping that he was calmed down he STILL insisted that i ordered a quesadilla. I have worked about 4 times at a consession stand and I was taught to give the customer whatever they needed in the most fair way possible. I love the food here but find the customer service hit or miss. I ordered online to avoid waiting and selected the wrong time for pick up. No one greeted me when I went in. I explained my mistake and asked if they could make my food any earlier. They said I had to wait until my time slot to pick up my food but I could not wait so I asked them to cancel but they said they could not. Then they gave me a number to call so I could get the order refunded. I've tried calling this number several times but no answer. It's really frustrating. We have used door dash a handful of times to have it delivered and every single time we are missing a handful of items. Even whole entrees have been missing a few times. The queso was filled to less than half full, and we didn't get the ranch, cinnamon tortilla or the drink. That's half the kids meal missing!!! Stopped in to try coasta vida as we have never eaten here before.I had the small grill chicken salad with corn tortilla and of course all the fixings. Hubby had a smothered burrito. Salad was good didn't need the dressing because it was already flavorful but the chicken was very dry. And it reminded me of Qdoba so between the two portion size at Qdoba is a lot more than coasta Vida. So my husband and I are from So.Cal- home of the real Mexican food. I have to say I was initially excited about a Mexican restaurant in New Mexico- my expectations were high. I was utterly mistaken. #1- No salsa bar #2- guacamole is served with a melon baller and if you want another melon ball size scoop, it's extra. #3- your choice of meat, but if you want steak (not carne asada), it's extra #4- burrito is actually chimichanga-ish. They put it through a toaster oven #5- spicy sauce is enchilada sauce, not salsa. I'm going to stop now. But in their favor- the people are super nice and the place is very clean. Great food made fresh right in front of you at a decent price point. Costa Vida has to be one of my favorite places to eat in Farmington. With its simple, straight forward menu and occasional seasonal items, CV gives me exactly what I want from Southwestern food: meat, veggies, and spices. I'm particularly partial to their loaded nachos! I usually skip the queso and just get grated mix. Once in their conveyor oven, the chips crisp and cheese melts... delicious! I really like Costa Vida. I was a regular at the one in Lone Tree, Colorado before moving to Durango. I come to Farmington to shop once or twice a month and always eat here when I do. My favorite is the sweet pork...anything. Salad, enchiladas, tacos....I also love the tomatillo ranch dressing and get a side of that no matter what I order. I am allergic to gluten and almost everything on their menu is gluten free! The only exception is the flour tortillas, the Tres Leches Cake & the Key Lime Pie (all of which are MAGNIFICENT...for those of you who CAN eat gluten) Costa Vida folks: For what it's worth, you'll get 5 stars from me when you can get your corn tortillas more consistently thin (sometimes they are way too thick!) AND when you offer a gluten free dessert other than Flan. read more

I got a vegetarian Baja bowl and they put like four scoops of sauce on and it turned into soup. They failed to tell me there was any vegetarian substitute for meat, and it's not on the menu. The guy that put so much sauce on it was in such a hurry that I thought he was going to have an aneurism even though there was only one more person in line. They charge vegetarians for guacamole even though most places don't. My parents dishes looked good which is why I'm not giving this a one star. read more

My little sister went in to order food for me, and she tried to order 3 chicken enchiladas, and 1 small quesadilla. But instead she was given 4 small quesadillas, and she was not wanting to be rude so she just took them. She also asked for no rice, and was given rice on all 4 quesadillas. About 20 minutes later I came back to the restaurant and told them that they may have misheard her order because she was not given the right order. The manager was very quick to say that my sister had ordered wrong and that she heard the order correctly and that's what my sister had asked for. I told her that regardless, that's not what we had wanted and she wouldn't open up her mind to the idea that she may have misheard the order, which I understand that it's easy to mishear things, especially with masks on. But she wouldn't hear me out and shut it down very quickly. I was willing to pay for a whole new entree of what I originally ordered, but she didn't even offer to do that. I did not come in expecting to be given anything for free, I just wanted the mistake to be fixed, and wanted my original order.
