The staff is friendly. I feel a little rushed through the line but it isn't bad. The food is good. Always hot and fresh. I will return.

I'm simply giving it 3 starts due to the fact that during your lunch rush, there should be more than 1 person on your line. I felt bad for the guy! Other than that. Food was great as usual. We love coming here. The salads are our favorite. There's not a lot of places with good vegetarian options in Layton which is the biggest thing that brings us. That and the amazing Tomatillo Ranch Dressing. YUM. They can get pretty busy but the staff is always smiling and trying their best to help customers as soon as possible. If you go to the "other" Mexican cafe restaurant near by you can see the drastic difference in service. This place is the best. Delicious food at a great value. read more

I like Costa Vida, but at this particular location it seems like the employees don't even care to be here. So, there was no customer service at all. When it was my turn to order the girl walked up, and spit out her gum into her hand to throw it away, and then preceded to put on gloves to serve me. Trying to love this location because they have decent food and a drive thru.... but they are making it extremely difficult!. I have had more than one bad experience here... but tonight we pulled into the drive thru more than 5 minutes before closing time, there were others in line, all of the lights were on and, although there were plenty of people working, no one would take our order!!!! Just IGNORED us... You also can't pick up an online order in the drive thru, you have to go in... makes ZERO sense at all. That probably would have saved tonight's frustrations. read more

It always seems to be something, missing items that were paid for, wrong sauces on burritos and half filled chip orders. Very disappointed in my visit to Costa Vida in Layton on 11/8/2019. For years I have been ordering veggie baja bowls, salads, and burritos. They have always been willing to add extra rice and beans at no extra charge in exchange for no meat. This time they charged me for an extra side of bean and an extra side of rice. I asked the manager why and she said they don't charge for the meat so adding extra beans and rice is an extra charge! What a rip off! The price with the meat is the same so I know it is built into the price. I will not go back to the Layton Cost Vida and if I find the same at other locations, I will not go there either. Costa Vida, if this is your way of squeezing a few extra dollars out of your vegetarian customers, you are going to lose more than you will gain. read more

Wish there was a negative star. First of all, things are slim right now with corona virus. Second, I placed an online order that I had to pick up in the drive through because of the outbreak, for 9 people. There were only 8 entrees. The poor guy at the window was so confused. The manager comes to the window and asks what I'm missing. I do not know because nothing is labeled or marked. He claims they never label things and acts as if that's a ridiculous request. Helpful for larger orders. Then when I am looking at him in disbelief and anger quite honestly because he is being so rude, he proceeds to ask if I have a problem!?!? Well duh! A couple actually! One there is something missing from my order, two, you're out of shredded beef for the order and three, you're being a rude jerk! Also this was supposed to be ready at 11:30 and it's now 11:50! Let's not mention that as I said, business for them is slow right now because of dine in closures, I would think they would be a bit more thankful for business! At the very least, a bit more professional. Hector R, you need some manners and a new job because this one obviously is not for you! My friends wanted to have a nice lunch and ended up with the wrong order. One of them is allergic to pork so he asked for a steak burrito yet still ended up getting pork. After going thru the drive thru and realizing what had happened they then had to wait an hour to even get someone to help them out. After explaining what had happened they remade only one order even tho the rest of the food had gotten cold from having to wait so long, they then remade the order with only 2 pieces of steak literally nothing was in it. After coming home we then tried to call the restaurant to speak to the manager and I had to keep calling back for half an hour to still not even get answered at all and they disconnected their phones about 3 times during all of it. I'm extremely upset with the service that we received and weren't even refunded or even given our receipt back read more

This is my first time to the Layton location. The inside of the store was so clean and my food was really fresh. I'm also excited to find out that it has a drive-thru. When you have four kids you don't always want to have to get out of the car. I will be coming back to this location again. read more

Second time here with bad service. Waited at drive thru forever. Got to window, watched the cook drop a spatula on the floor and pick it up and keep using it. Got home and our Diet Coke was just seltzer water, no dressing for the salad, and mixed meats in the salad. Last time around was about the type of experience. Obsessed with this restaurant! I love that I can eat healthy here and feel great after! I get the steak salad most the time and its amazing! Added extra meat (chicken and steak) to our salads. We did not receive the chicken part of our salad! This location charged us for extra meat while not giving it to us. When I called the store, they requested the food back (during a pandemic?) to be remade or we could get a refund. When the refund was selected they said to send a picture to a number and then said "never mind we can't give you the number, call our store in the morning." Terrible service this evening. Waited for our food for 20 minutes, there was only 1 other person ahead of us. Only to get it and it was completely incorrect. The lettuce in our salads was the shredded lettuce. Not even the correct salad lettuce. I requested no pico de gallo or guacamole and mine was covered in it. I love the new Costa Vida--it's got a drive up which is handy for busy days when you don't want to bring all the kids in, and they have different seating areas so you can sort of have a more private area if you're coming with a group. We love the steak tacos and sweet pork anything. I'd highly recommend the tres leches for dessert too. read more

I very much love costa Vida and like many the sweet pork burrito is the gem of the establishment. I'm giving this 2 stars because their portion sizes were unbelievably small. Jaw droppingly my small. I ordered a sweet pork burrito and was shocked to see it take form. The costa Vida in my home town, Brigham city, makes a sweet pork burrito at least 1/3 bigger. So I'm bummed about that. Been going here for years and got the WORST SERVICE Tonight! I will not be going back there any time soon.

I ordered catering for a wedding dinner. i called 6 weeks prior to the event to get on their schedule. They took my order and said there would be no problem fulfilling it. I called the day before the event to confirm my catering order. They assured me the order would be ready the next day by the designated time. We went to pick up the order at 4pm abcs there was no record of our order. They said there is nothing they could do. After much persuasion they fulfilled the order. We were an hour and a half late to my sons wedding dinner. They had said we would be getting utensils and the foil to go containers for 50 people since we ordered salad bar. We never received those. What was supposed to be a nice, easy dinner turned into a stressful, event. We made our guests wait long past the time expected. We had rented a venue which we only had for a few hours. The whole event was cut short. I contacted corporate to respond to the situation and they have done nothing to make this right. No contact, nothing. I paid for items that were never received and we were overall very unsatisfied with the whole experience. read more

Usually get the sweet pork salad large with extra lettuce and dressing with the tortilla on the side. This way I can eat half now and half later and the tortilla won't be soggy. They have a sweet habnero dressing that is quite tasty and not too spicy. I like spicy so I would rate it mild. read more
