This location is usually busy and with good reason, it's so good. We came at lunch time for the high school on Halloween and the people watching was A+. I really appreciate the staff especially on Halloween with so many kiddos ruining about. They were kind, happy and helpful to all of us. Very good with time and made me feel happy to be there. Every time we get food here it's amazing and the service is amazing. I want to shout out Alex, who makes our experience every time. Today I was alone with my baby, and he was extremely helpful as he grabbed my garbage and drinks to throw away after he kindly asked if I was done. He then proceeded to open the door with full hands because my hands were full with my baby and bags. He's always incredibly kind, and helpful. Looking for great, fast, and incredibly tasty food, then costas exactly the place! While the food tastes great, the employees are better! Opening the door for us, taking trash, and even checking in! However the food gets a little sloppy but the price matches perfectly especially for a quick lunch trip. Great environment to go on side quests with friends and a great dinner option for families. They have lots of different food option with a bunch of different meats! The pork was by far the best, especially in the quesadillas form. Not only that but you also get great tropical feeling in the restaurant while eating some delicious food! Another awesome thing they added is their new meals as well as the support with westlake! I'm going to give this place the benefit of the doubt because of my distaste for their main competitor in the state. This location usually is so great, despite long wait times in the evening, the food quality and portions are always consistent so you know what you're going to get but the last two times I have visited this location the amount of meat I've been given on my salad was pathetic. Usually they give a very generous scoop full of meat and plop it on there but the last two times I have gotten a couple of bits worth of meat and I feel like that is what makes the whole entree so without the meat the whole meal is ruined. This could be due to the economic strain that many businesses are currently experiencing but nothing has been posted about portion sizes has changing so I'm hopeful that these last two visits have just been a fluke. read more

I showed up 5 minutes after my food was supposed to be done and they hadn't even printed the receipt to start making it. Then they helped everyone in line before making my food that I ordered 20 minutes before anyone in line had got there. They ended up helping probably 7 people before me. I waited an extra 15-20 minutes for my food to be ready on top of giving them a 5 minute grace period for my online order to be finished. I can't believe how awful of an experience it was. read more

We try not to be complainers but when you come 10 minutes after the order is supposed to be ready and let the people up front know your name and they tell you it will be out soon, you sit down, 10 minutes go by and most of the people waiting have left, go back up to check on the order and they say it will come out soon, more people who have walked in and ordered have gotten their food, and then you go back up and they say that your order never made the kitchen as you continue to entertain your baby. And then they give nothing for the inconvenience of keeping you waiting and feeling totally neglected, that's a pretty bad customer experience. Again, giving 2 stars because it's not the norm, they're typically good. But please, when you mess up, do something for your clients so they know you're owning it. With that said, smothered pork burritos are a solid option, as is the sweet pork salad. read more

I love Costa Vida...probably a little more than Cafe Rio. They add queso to their nachos without an up charge. They do smothered (enchilada style at Cafe Rio) for free as well. We enjoy Costa often, once a week or every other week if I was guessing. Lately prices have increased a bit which is typically with all the inflation but the last few trips to Costa have also had a pretty significant reduction in value. Literally one tablespoon of rice and beans these days which really takes away from the meal. Extra pico that costs $0.50 more is amount two teaspoons worth. Meat has scaled back a noticeable amount as well but that makes more sense since market prices for meat have increased ~20% or so. I am not complaining about the increased cost, I am complaining about the increased cost with reduced value. Do one or the other, not both please. read more

I have gone to the other similar "Cafe" for many many years, never really giving Costa Vida a chance. There is a Cafe just down the street that I have been to dozens of times. I've always waited and waited at the Cafe and have received shoddy service. Costa Vida is different. First of all, having a drive through is a major plus. Even on a Friday night with a dozen or more cars in the line, the line moves fast enough that I couldn't complain. They send employees out to take orders on an iPad and that seemingly makes things even faster. My favorite thing about Costa Vida is that their quality is consistent. I get the same quality of food every time. That is nice. I always order a side of rice, which is is always good. The cafe is hit or miss with crunchy rice at times. Their queso is much better than the Cafe's. Their chips are better too. I wish both restaurants could figure out a way to keep shredded lettuce out of the salsa. That is a pet peeve. Where they fall short of the cafe is portions and flavor. While the service and quality at Costa Vida is better in almost every way, the portions are smaller for the same price, and the sauces and meats aren't as rich and delicious as the Cafe. Flavor notwithstanding, I'll still go to Costa Vida most of the time because the speed, service, and consistency make going here more convenient and convenience is a big deal, especially since most places are understaffed because of the hiring crisis. I don't want to spend an hour getting dinner for my family after a long day of work, and with Costa Vida, I don't have to, even on the busiest days and times. read more

I used to be a huge cafe rio fan. I would eat there once a week most weeks. However they kept messing up my to go orders. I have allergies and a little cross contamination is no big deal for me but having to go in to the restaurant and having them remake my order was annoy so I started going to costa Vida and haven't looked back. I don't know what the problem was with this location. My daughter went inside to order a shredded beef quesadilla. They were extremely busy . As the employees began making her quesadilla they asked if she would like extra meat & she said no . They just keep laughing as they were making her quesadilla . When she got her order it had so much meat on it that it didn't even melt the cheese . She pulled off all the extra meat which was enough to fill a large burrito. I'm sure most people would love the extra meat but when you can even taste the cheese & the cheese isn't even melted it's gross. It would be nice to get what your ordered. Apparently the employees got a good laugh at loading the quesadilla with too much meat . It was way too busy to go back & complain . Very disappointing read more
