Bonchon - Bibimbap (mixed), cucumber salad, Bao Buns - Korean Near Me - Lehi, Utah

I would give 4+ stars for the chicken, and 2 for the "Korean" meals. I'll explain. I ordered the bulgogi bibimbap. Not traditional or authentic. Except for the warm (not hot) rice and the luke warm (not hot) bulgogi, the ingredients were cold. Cold. The spinach was cold. The sautéed mushrooms were cold. (And they were just either white mushrooms or Cremini.) The scrambled eggs (scrambled eggs?!) were COLD and unappetizing. The sautéed onions were cold. And of course, the ice berg lettuce (lettuce?!) was cold. Cold, mostly non-authentic or traditional ingredients. After eating half of it, I did not finish it. My friend offered me one of his 5 piece drumsticks. They were HUGE. I joked that he ordered turkey legs instead. The chicken was good. I'd give it 4 stars. My meal was brought out to me. Thanks! I asked if there were chopsticks. He pointed them out to me as he was returning to behind the counter, passing them along the way. I would have given him kudos if he would have just gotten a pair and brought them to me. Oh well, no biggie. Just shows a lack of stellar customer service is all. What saved my experience was going next door to Snelgroves for some ice cream. LOL Go there for the chicken, just not for the other menu items. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Really enjoyed this location for Korean chicken! We love getting the Yangnam and garlic chicken. I thought the fries were fresh too! Whenever I miss Korean chicken we come here. The fermented vinaigrette radish is my favorite side dish to eat along with the chicken! Service was great! Since it's chicken it takes some time to cook after order is received. Maybe around 25-30mins. The store was kept nice and tidy and we will visit again! read more

Korean chicken wings- 5/5 It was awesome! Crispy, good flavor but bit salty. Bibimbap- 3/5 Their rice wasn't Korean rice:( I think they used regular oil instead of sesame oil. We stopped by here on our way home late afternoon on Sunday. There was two other small families eating there. I was confused because they had big menus on the wall in front of us but then on the ordering kiosks they didn't have all those options available, for example, the chicken tenders or combo plates were not on there. We had to wait a while for our food to go but was still good when we got home. We got 10 piece wings half soy garlic half Korean Bbq. I don't know why but we only got 9 wings/drumsticks. They had the option for just wings, just drumsticks, and mix of wings/drumsticks so I was confused when we got the mix when we ordered just the wings. Be sure to check your order before leaving. The two flavors were great! My favorite wing flavors I've had. Since we couldn't find the chicken tenders on the kiosk menu we got our kids the boneless wings classic crunch and those were good. We got the seasoned fries which were amazing but don't come with any dipping sauce besides fry sauce. I made fry sauce and home to dip them in and it was perfect! Plenty of seating indoors. Bathrooms were clean. Update 2/22: I did go online and fill out their survey about my experience and received an automated response back on 2/13 saying someone will reach out to me but I haven't heard anything yet. read more

Finally a different ethnic restaurant that's quick and easy to get to. Forget KFC and Popeye's in the area, if you want some good fried chicken with the bone, then this place is worth checking out. They only have wings and drumsticks but the drumsticks are huge! They also have boneless chicken pieces too. They have a variety of different sauces that compliment the chicken. If you like spicy I recommend their Yangnyeom sauce that has a good kick, medium spice. I've also tried their Japche glass noodles which has good variety of vegetables and bits of bulgogi in it. We also tried their bulgogi fries. I wish was bigger in size for the price I felt like I got a side dish of fries. I also tried their Bibimap rice dish which had a mix of cold vegetables with warm rice and bulgogi. I wish that was bigger in size too because the price was expensive for a main dish but I felt like it was a side dish size. My suggestion is going there for the chicken. Wish the portions were bigger for the price but good quick Korean food. read more

If you like fried chicken, you'll like this place. I got the wings and two of the flavors. I want to come back and try the fried chicken, unsauced. I got the noodles and I'm glad I did. I've had bonchon a bunch of times and saw that there was one opening in Lehi while driving so was anticipating its opening. They currently have a combo promo right now which I remembered being a good deal, but I was craving the soy garlic. The recipe at this location tasted exactly like other locations I've had! The chicken was a nice size and it was smothered in the soy garlic sauce! The chicken was nice and crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside! The staff were extremely friendly and the inside is actually quite spacious with a lot of seating! The only downside was that service was a bit slow, which is understandable since they just opened, but I will def be coming back later since I just love bonchon in general! For some reason their pickled radish is also one of the best complimentary radishes I've had compared to other korean fried chicken spots :) read more

Service is a little slow right now as they are new and crowded, but things are great. We did a 20 piece wing half spicy/half yangnyeom and I was really impressed. For two people we had enough for another meal, not bad for ~$30. I want to try more of the menu, but the wings were so good that I don't know if I can bring myself to it. I was extremely surprised by how much I enjoyed the food here! I've always seen Bonchon in California so I'm happy it made its way to Utah county. First, I'm so happy they have more Korean/Asian dishes than just chicken (not that there's anything wrong with the chicken). Second, the chicken - WOW! So moist and flavorful. I didn't get any sauce on my chicken, just their original crispy seasoning. However, it was already so tasty. The chicken pieces here are HUGE, especially the drumstick. The bulgogi was soooo yummy! Very well sauced and cooked - not dry at all! The udon soup was simple but still good and large. The sample plate is such a hit - everything on it was DELICIOUS! The corn, coleslaw, fries, chicken - everything! I will definitely be returning, hopefully try something else on their menu, but that's a hard sell bc their chicken is such a winning dish. We were excited when we saw this open down the road and we kept wanting to try it. We finally went today and it was very gross in our opinion. The chicken they gave us was ice cold in the middle and all of the food tasted like it was just microwaved in the back. We won't be going back here and I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with the Saratoga Springs' Bonchon. It was packed which made me happy. They had a lot of employees so service was fast, everything was well stocked and the restaurant was clean. We had the Seoul sampler with Korean BBQ to share, and it was very good and priced well. The chicken and wings were super crispy and the BBQ sauce was delicious with a mild kick which works well for me because I'm not a fan of super spicy food. The bulgogi fries were also good but a little salty and they had way too much Parmesan cheese. I did not love the mandu but it could have been because they were smothered in the same BBQ sauce and that did not work for me. I'll be back for fried chicken and to try some of their other dishes. read more

This was my second time coming to Bonchon and I was pretty disappointed with the service and food the second time around. The place was packed, so that was good to see! We ordered a 6 pc yangnyeom bonless chicken in a meal, also ordered the tteokbokki and the bibimbap. The tteokbokki was actually pretty good and I would personally rate it a solid 8/10. The chicken was good, but after living in Korea and visiting there as well, nothing lives up to authentic Korean fried chicken. The sauce was on par and really delicious! 6/10 The bibimbap was what I was looking forward to the most and was by far the most disappointed by it. It was cold by the time we got it and there was hardly any meat on it, just mostly rice and some veggies. I wish it had also come with the traditional gochujang. If it had the sauce come with it, it would've been a lot better. This was a 3.5/10 for me. Also we never got the side we ordered. There were a few other people after us who also were waiting on food for a while and never received it. We waited 30 min to get a refund and they still couldn't figure it out unfortunately. The staff was friendly but overstaffed. There were 4 employees on break at one time and although it was a busy hour and the tables were messy, they didn't bother to help out. The cashier had to come over and help during a quick absence of people in line. Not to mention it was overpriced ‍ My first experience was better, but not by much. If you're looking to try something similar to Korean cuisine, this is an option for sure. If you've been to Korea or have had authentic Korean cuisine, then I would recommend trying somewhere else read more

We left Bonchon feeling disappointed and overcharged. The food was inconsistent, the service was slow, and the overall atmosphere was loud and chaotic. More stressful than enjoyable. The fried chicken was fine but nothing special, and the tteokbokki was good, though that's hard to get wrong. The bulgogi beef bowl, however, was mostly filler, about 90% rice with barely any beef. For the price, the portions and quality didn't feel worth it. We ordered our fried chicken as part of a meal, but the side that came with it never arrived. When we asked for a refund, we were told it would be taken care of, only to be left waiting for over 30 minutes. In the end, we never received the refund at all. Between the underwhelming food, missing items, and unresolved service issues, the whole experience fell short. For what we paid, we expected much better. read more
