I have honestly avoided Costco for years because I've always hated the parking lots and lines. Sams club was always easier. I finally renewed July and got my card last week. Chanced a Friday night and it was not crowded at all and lines were ok. Writing this review because a worker, Lauren, went out of her way just got go get me more chocolate muffins because she said there was a BOGO deal. Not a huge deal but as someone who has worked customer service over 10 years, seeing someone else genuinely smile and offer help as I would do is so refreshing! Def made our night. Nothing really different from any other Costco to be honest, the only things I am reading on is the overall experience with parking, customers that visit this site and finally Staff. The entrance layout for this is a bit lame and causes a cluster of traffic coming in and out. Especially the gas station area!!! Even when we have to visit this place, on a weekday, it's still just a really big inconvenience. There's only one main entrance at the very end of the parking lot or you can go through the back way where the trucks unload. Secondly, the type of customers that come here are a little bit more ghetto than where we normally shop. They actually have the security guards roaming in the parking lot and the exit area of Costco. That was a first time I've ever seen this! I guess there's a lot of crime and shoplifting that happens here? Perhaps a lot of car break-ins in the parking lot and that's why you see security roaming around. Perhaps they are also understaffed because no one is gathering carts from the parking lot and bringing them into the front of the store. The staff that greet you at the door are very nice though, and also the people stocking shelves and cashier. They seem to be very motivated to help customers and also inform them of what essential items are available during the shelter in place. Definitely hard-working staff and I come into them! One cool thing is that they let healthcare workers in early before anyone else along with seniors in those with disabilities or health vulnerability. read more

Usually very happy with my experiences shopping at this Costco but the past couple of times an employee named Shoulaine finds a way to make my experiences very unpleasant. I feel like she goes out her way to be very rude. I go to her line and say hi and she completely ignores me , makes a face and just continues to scan my items with a horrible attitude. I caught her rolling her eyes when she saw me walking up with my items . I felt like she was annoyed because I had two carts full of stuff but at the end of the day it's her job?? Sherry, a cashier, turned me away today because I was using my mom's Costco card...during a pandemic...not everyone can come out to shop during these times. Sherry is an old white woman and I've never had any issues with shopping for my mom until Sherry. Gotta be careful with these yt folks y'all. Also, Alex turned me away too and offered to let me use cash...not everyone has cash to be able to pay which is why we need to be able to use credit cards. Calling all winos! Perhaps I'm late to the party, or maybe the booze cruise sailed without me but I had no idea you could purchase alcohol from Costco without a membership! For all those that don't have a membership here is how it works. At the entrance you notify the greeter you are only there to get alcohol, they will get someone to escort you to the drank, and when you are done they will then escort you to the register to pay. Easy as that. You can only purchase alcohol, nothing else. If you are having a party or just want to stock up on libations they have great prices. read more

To my unfortunate surprise, I have experienced ghastly customer service recently that contradicts some of Costco's principles from an employee in the food court named Antonio. Old cashier, her name is Michelle, long curly hair, doesn't know how to treat costumers. She was extremely rude to us. She kept rushing my transactions, she stained both of my jackets I purchased with her pen. She has no idea what costumer service is! She definitely left me not want to shop at this location! Costco has always been one of my favorite retail spots. I can get almost anything I need, or want, or think I may need. The only problem is that I always end up purchasing more than I've budgeted for. I think they could do a better job at keeping the restrooms cleaner and the carts can sometime be a little dirty! They should have disinfectant wipes located at the front entrance to allow customers to wipe down the handle on the shopping cart. This Costco is okay. It's always busy & crowded so hard to find parking very close. Hope you get lucky or don't mind walking. The food court is -- a food court. Pizza is usually good, and the pieces are HUGE! Their soft serve is actually quite creamy & yummy. Hotdogs, mmmm, I've had some bad ones, but overall they're okay, and they offer chopped onions & sweet relish along with the customary ketchup / mustard. The photo department is also just okay. I've had a couple issues with getting things in a timely manner, but for the most part they're good. The produce I get sometimes rots well before the date stamp, and for some reason way worse looking than other grocery store produce (no idea why that is). They have tons of samples being prepared, and sometimes lengthy demonstrations of products. While everyone is nice, there is NEVER anyone available to help... and with how frequently they MOVE THE ITEMS I REGULARLY BUY, I'm literally always in there FOREVER just walking in circles looking in the last few places I've seen the stuff. This latest visit, they moved the organic dried fruit to yet another new place, one where I'd never found it before so didn't think to check... Not on the isle with the nuts or cereal, not with the other sugary dried fruits, not on any of the endcaps where I've found it many times, not even in the random isles near the clothes where they lived for months... Ok I like Costco, but I hate it when they over charge us for things! My mom has been being over charge for things too many times. When shopping here we trust that they know what there doing, but it's such a busy store, that they skip steps, and never check. Pointless to have someone checking receipts when they don't really check. So annoying when we get home, and see that we're overcharge. Sucks in my position because I'm just now looking at my receipt from late October and see that I got charge twice for my niece blanket when I only received one. Being charge for things twice is a common thing for this store. So make sure you count how many items you have. read more

I couldn't get an appt anywhere ... a friend recommended Dr. Miriam with rave reviews! Well Dr. Miriam gave me a last minute appt, did an eye exam, dilated my eyes told me to walk around the store and come back in 30 mon and she rechecked my eyes, exceptionally attentive to my situation.Then set up a follow up appt for the next week to recheck my vision!! Seems i haven't been to this costco for 4 years since that was the approximate time it opened. there's the usual pharmacy, tire center, gas station, meat and seafood display cases and food bar. there's 20ish checkout stands and most were open. only a few people in each line. (reminds me of san luis obispo) there's also a few self service checkout stands also. didn't interact much with the cashiers so can't tell if they're friendly or not. got in and out with some mayo and sugar bags in under 10 minutes. did i mention the parking lot and warehouse were huge? much bigger than san leandro, el cerrito, san ramon, even novato. read more

The employees that work for Verizon and AT&T cell phone services are lazy and incompetent. I purchased verizon service and 3 phones in nov of 2020 it is now the end of january 2021 and I still havent been able to use my $150 gift card and still haveing problems with them charging me monthly for the Disney bundle which is free with my plan. David his boss Raphiel and another rude employee fred have been giving me the run around and have yet to solve my problem. I have been forced to deal with their superiors and another verizon branch to take care of my problem. those guys should be fired. I have received the worst customer service ever from Costco, specifically Costco Tire center. I purchased 4 tires online, set an appointment for today to get them installed. Got to the appt early, tires got installed in less than an hour, which was great. NOT! Drove to Walmart to get some stuff and my TPMS light turns on. I call Costco and they say come right back. Mind you, my appt was at 5pm, tires done before 6pm, shipped at Costco before leaving to Walmart, and had to hustle back before right before 8pm. Well, the associate tells me to park by the air station, adds air, says they misread my tire pressure level and put to much in the back when it should've been 32/35psi. Still the TPMS doesn't turn off. He gets a gauge to read the sensors and as we are standing in the freezing cold tells me that 3 out of the 4 sensors are not working. They worked on the old tires before I brought it in, we're replaced by Americas Tires just last year. Then he tells me to go back to Americas tires to get them replaced?!?!? I explain if Ty e worked when I brought it in, you changed all my tires, then it's something you did. He then explains the battery or the distance, and says it's not their problem as they just changed the tires. I explain that they had to have done something to the sensor as it's on the rim. He then says nothing he can do. So I call a buddy for some confirmation and he says the TPMS should still be working unless it was damaged, so he says I should go inside and ask for the Manager of the tire center, Keith. I go in and another associate says that since the TPMS aren't Costco's they can't do anything unless I want to buy theirs?!?!? I then say it doesn't make sense that 3 of 4 stop working after they change the tires. He says they can look at it tomorrow, Saturday, and if they broke them they will replace them, but since they are booked it will be a while?!?!? So, you possibly damage my car, waste more of my time, tell me to come back and then tell me I will have to wait to have them checked out to "see" if they are damaged, even though they know I can't be in the car bay to watch and see what they see and possibly lie that they are ok and it's only the batteries which then they won't do anything. I then ask for Keith, and he says he is gone for the day, off Saturday, and won't be back till Sunday. I ask when will Keith be working Saturday. He says open, I ask what time, he says maybe 9, so you don't know when you open?!?!? I said I will be back. Even though it was a great deal on tires, the poor customer service, bad attitude and general disrespect makes the whole interaction at Costco Tires never want me to go back to get tires from them ever. I definitely would like to hear from the Costco warehouse manager or corporate to see if this is the norm on how they treat their members, not to mention I have been a member since the 2000. read more

Take your business to any other Costco. The workers at this location, no matter how slow or busy, are extremely RUDE! I went to Costco yesterday and bought a Philips toothbrush replacement pack. The box stated that it fit every model. However, when I brought it home it did not fit my head set. Today I made a run to Costco to buy paper towels and decided to buy a few other items. After dealing with the mayhem, I paid for my items and headed to the return line with my return. As I approached the counter I was yelled at by Irene. She started scolding me and asked me rudely, "who let you in here!? Who let you in here!?I was puzzled I told her I went through the entrance door like everyone else. I was super confused on what she meant. And she said "I need a name... who let you in with your item!?" I was pretty shaken up because I felt like she was saying I didn't belong or that I entered in through the exit door. I asked for clarity and then she told me that I am ALWAYS to return things before I enter the store. And that I was not allowed to do that and that she might not be able to help me with my return. I was livid! I said "are you insinuating that I stole this?!" She literally looked at me and said "I have no other reason to believe why you didn't!" I was shocked, completely baffled and upset. I told her the many years I have gone to Costco I have never heard of that rule, EVER. And if the item was in my bag when I walked in how would the person checking even know to direct me to the return area? She said "oh that's really hard to believe, No one EVER, told you that you had to return your items first?!! That's really hard for me to believe." To not give her any more of my energy I asked to speak with the manager immediately. Secondly, no other customers with shopping carts were told this, just me. There were three other people in line with carts filed. Here comes Iris, asking how she can help. I told her what happened, and hype girl to the left of Irene (another Costco worked) interrupted and said to Iris, "I was here the whole time and I didn't hear her yelling at this woman!" Wow! Is this inception? Did I get stuck in the movie and get mind F this morning? Luckily for me a woman who was standing behind me was at the next register and confirmed my story. She was in shock as well. The liess!!! no apology from the manager, she just that it was protocol and that was just the policy. And I told her I am not arguing about the policy, that's not what I have an issue with, it's this woman's approach and attitude! She told me I repeated myself three times and she understands. This is a review for the Costco Pharmacy in Antioch, California. As a long time Costco customer, I know their pharmacy closes daily for lunch at 1:30 to 2;30 p.m. That's the problem. Not everyone can arrange their shopping schedules around the lunch hour for Costco pharmacy employees, and not everyone lives close to Costco. If Costco wanted to provide good customer service in the Pharmacy, they would stagger the lunch hours for staff so at least one person is available to work the counter during lunch. I made the mistake of arriving at the counter and 1:31 p.m., and was rudely turned away by the three ladies standing behind the counter as not one of them could take the 90 seconds it would have taken for my transaction out of their lunch hour. KAREN ENCOUNTER!!! I moved to Antioch 1 year ago and generally shop at this store 2-3 times per month. On 12/10/21 approx 7pm my husband and I did our usual shopping spending approx $300. I purchased 1 lounge set separately walked away to go to the restroom. As I exited the restroom I noticed 2 female employees lingering near the restroom. As I headed to meet my husband near the exit Delores "AKA KAREN" appeared. Delores whispered something to the female clerk checking receipts at the exit. When it was my turn to show my 1 item and receipt "KAREN" asked where are the other items you took in the bathroom? I laughed & responded OH YOU THOUGHT I WAS STEALING? I don't know where to review this so it's here. I love Costco. Who doesn't ? It's totally our go to and we end up here almost weekly. Why on Earth would they partner with Sparkletts for water delivery??? The service is horrid! Avoid them at all costs. Well I got suckered into a water service. My mother in law has one from sparkletts or Alhambra and loves it. You know that guy offering you a complimentary glass off water while you shop the aisles at Costco ? I got pulled in and ordered a dispenser and bottles to be delivered the following week. Friday rolls around and they drop off the cooler and bottles. No instructions, no delivery schedule nothing. ( My mil was at the house so didn't ask). As a side note, they also came Saturday to drop off my cooler. Obviously they do not communicate because we had already go it. 19 days later I Google a number for them because they didn't leave any paperwork. I ask when is my delivery and I was told they missed my delivery the day prior. What? Okkk.... They said my delivery would then be Thursday. Well Friday rolls around and no water, so I call. They tell me there is no guarantee for me to get a delivery today and if they don't come today , it will be Monday. Well, guess what? Today is Monday and we are still parched! I call again and the said they don't know who I talked to because I'm not scheduled today, tomorrow is my delivery. Since it's supposed to be every two weeks, ( and now it's the third) it's a special delivery. Our next normal delivery is the 10th and they said no promises that I won't be skipped again ! I've now asked for a manager to call me. This is wrong. I've been a member at Costco for over 30 years. Never had a problem with them until Sunday, I was with my mom waiting in line to pay for our stuff. Then my mom gave her card to the gentleman that was moving the items on the cart, then the cashier Shoulaine G asked my mom in a really rude way why did you give your card to him. Wtf bc he asked for it. After my mom paid for the stuff she had to get change back and the lady Shoulaine threw it on the counter instead of giving it back to my mom in her hands.... I understand it was a busy Sunday but she didn't have to be rude like that when we never caused a problem. She was so rude to the people Infront of us as well bc their daughter was crying, all she wanted was a bandaid and instead of sending one of the packers to get one her response was "we got none". I love shopping here. It is so crazy now with everyone in a panic and buying all the water, tp and paper towels. Costco was great at keeping things flowing and limiting the amount of what people can buy. It was crazy in the back of the store, but Costco kept directing people of other areas to get the supplies. I was in and out pretty quick after doing my weekly shopping. I felt bad for the people who didn't know the store opened early. The line to get in the parking lot was insane. Scott at the Antioch tire center treated us like royalty! He loaded 6 huge and heavy golf cart batteries onto a cart for us AND then pushed this cart out to our truck and loaded them up for us!
