Last week picked up a new Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium version at Future Ford of Sacramento through the Costco "buying" program...though we leased this vehicle. GREAT price discount and a no hassle dealership experience, even with the trade-in of a 2015 Toyota Camry as part of this overall process. The program was so easy to use that it was almost effortless and the Costco Member-only savings were substantial! I submitted our request to the Costco Auto Program mid-afternoon on September 29, literally just a little more than 24 hours in advance of the EV Incentive expiration on September 30. I received the authorization from the Costco Auto Program within minutes of the request being submitted. From my first contact with Greg shortly thereafter, he went above and beyond to make it possible for my husband and I to secure the new EV we were looking for in time to take advantage of the incentive. Inventory was extremely limited with only one vehicle available in the model we wanted but it wasn't our preferred color or interior. I used the Costco Auto Program to buy a car at Auburn Toyota. Very happy with the staff there; very professional and like "family". The day we picked up the car, the purchasing process was unlike any other I've had before. They spent hours with us; first test driving the car, then going over the car; safety features, and all the complicated functions with the displays, buttons, sensors. They took us to meet people in the Service and Parts department. The finance lady was patient and nice and went over more details (explained everything very well) and got us a huge discount on the extended warranty (actually $1000 below the Costco discounted rate). We went in there at 2pm and left with our new car at 8pm. I don't think it normally would take that long, but, we had fun and asked alot of questions. Our Sales guy is a very cool, happy, knowledgeable guy; so he's fun to be around. I'm sure the process could have been done in a fraction of that time, if necessary; but we didn't care; it was nice to spend the time learning about everything. The Costco Auto Program got us about $2600 off the price. The sales guy told me it was $250 below the Invoice cost. We are very happy with the Costco Auto Program. read more

I put information into the Costco Auto Program site and was quickly contacted by a dealership salesman. We exchanged texts, and, since I was about 50 miles away, asked if there were a number of the models I was looking for. Turns out, there were 2. The experience at the dealership was, in general, awful - and there was no Costco incentive in the price given. Not on Costco. I bought a car at a different dealership the same day. I received an email from Costco asking about my experience. Bad! I received a follow up (shopped/bought Saturday) email on Sunday asking me to call. I did - on hold for 5-10 minutes - left a message with my number. Never heard back. Returned email on Tuesday - never heard back. It seems they accept positive evaluations from people who purchase, but not reviews from those who don't. read more

What a great program! Did you know that Costco has an auto program?! I didn't either until I learned about it from a fellow Yelp Elite. Thanks Alana! I got my car for about $5-6 K below invoice. This took all the haggling out of the closing process. It felt clean and good. You simply provide your contact info, the car you're interested in purchasing, and your Costco membership number. They put you in contact with a partnered dealership. The representative from said dealership in your neighborhood provides inventory information and the Costco member only pricing. It's really quite simple. Why wouldn't you go this route?! There's nothing to lose. There's some sort of synergy with Auto Nation, FYI. I don't know the ins and outs of it, but it had little impact on my dealings. My car was delivered straight off the line to the rail to the dealership practically, and I took possession of it with 6 miles on the car. If things remain status quo, I would be happy to use Costco Auto Program again in the future. read more

The website's design and functionality were quite disappointing. I conducted a targeted search for a specific item, only to be informed that it was unavailable in my area, with no further information on where it might be available. Moreover, immediately after submitting my inquiry, I began receiving numerous unsolicited emails and phone calls from auto dealers who did not even have the item in question. My experience with Costco Auto primarily resulted in a significant waste of my time and an influx of unwanted communication. UPDATE: Mr. Darren J. Responding lead me to think I may actually get support. Unfortunately he never provided me a means of sending him a direct message. I used this service to buy a new EV Equinox and was happy with the dealer and the price. I appreciated that it wasn't a referral to only one dealer. It has been a while since I have purchased a new car, and I found the process to be more transparent than I previously experienced. However, I bought my last new vehicle through this program and (back in 2024) was really disgusted with the experience and the dealer I was sent to. So I can't give an endorsement to the Costco Auto Program. I had a better experience because I went to a better dealership. First time using Costco to purchase a vehicle. It was a good experience. Either send info online or via phone, then Costco gives you info of closest dealers who are participating in the program. If another location is where you want to go, you can ask them for their dealer. A little bit of emailing back and forth and talking on the phone of makes /models then booked an appt for next day to see car agreed on. Costco Price was sent via email. Still Spent about 4 hours total at dealer with test drive, car washing, and financing. Still recommend bringing a car savvy friend as they will upsell warranty or extras. I couldn't be happier with the dealership, Kia of Muncie. It was well worth the drive for the savings and great experience. I have a Kia dealership practically in my backyard but they do not participate in the Costco Auto program. After I test drove a Telluride and found out they were going to mark up the price thousands of dollars over MSRP I decided to find a dealer through the Costco program. It took me all of five minutes to find that Kia of Muncie was with the program. A few emails later and I had ordered the exact vehicle that I wanted, at a savings of $7,062 from the price I would have paid at the dealership that was not affiliated with Costco. We went through the Costco Auto Program to purchase a 2025 Honda CRV. The website had a Honda dealership in Corona contact us to set up a meeting. We ended up going down and test driving a few different models. We decided on a particular one and went over the numbers. They gave us the Costco pricing sheet but it had additional dealer add ons that they refused to remove from the price because they said that's how they make their money since Costco discounts below MSRP. We walked out and went to Honda of Riverside instead. They gave us Costco pricing and did not add the pricing for dealer add ons. They asked if we wanted extended warranties, gap insurance, etc. We refused and just paid the price of vehicle. Great program just be aware if the dealer tries to inflate the price by other means. read more

I've been a Costco member for many many years but never used their auto buying program. Recently a friend of mine told me how easy it was so when my sister was ready to make a purchase I told her to sign up for a Costco membership and try the auto program. Going through it with her, I was amazed at how easy it really is!! She received a quote within 24 hours from a local dealership, called up one of the representatives listed on the pricing sheet, and then went to the dealer the next day to complete paperwork. Walking through the door with the pricing pre-negotiated was such a breeze, and the rep was incredibly courteous. After seeing how easy it was I decided to try it myself. I had also initiated contact with a broker through Autoland, and while that broker was likewise very professional and courteous I preferred the Costco program for the price savings. The pricing Costco offered was much better than anything Autoland was offering. Autoland does have the extra service of delivering the car to you so you never have to set foot in the dealership, so that is nice, but for me the cost savings was too good to pass up through Costco. Yes, you still have to go to the dealer and go through their paperwork, but its much easier because they know you already have something in mind, with a price point, and you're ready to close the deal. My friend did take her Costco quote and shop it around to a couple dealerships, but I didn't do that since I already had some comps in hand and I got much more car for a better price, so I was pretty happy. Our friends recommended this program when they heard we were interested in getting a new car. We filled out the form and within 5 minutes of filling it out we had a call from the recommended dealer (who we loved anyway) and they started looking for our car. I am not easily impressed, but I give high marks to the folks at Sunshine Service in Sparks. I went there for a wheel alignment after purchasing new tires for my Honda Pilot. They were friendly and highly professional. Their facility is excellent, their waiting area is clean, comfortable, has a TV, complimentary snacks and beverages, and our dog was welcome. If you have never used the Costco Auto Program to buy or lease a vehicle, you've provably missed out on some huge savings! First off, you need to be a Costco Member! Then, all you have to do is sign up on the Costco website ahead of time and they will direct you to which dealership to go and give you a contact's name. This is the third time I've used this program and I will continue using it if I am in need of another vehicle! We've leased two cars and received the best incentives! We were given Costco Cash Cards! This third time, we purchased our car. The price is already set below the invoice price. We also received a 50% off coupon off parts, service, and accessories. I want to buy a rubber mat for the cargo area to protect it. I did a lot of price comparisons through TrueCar and many dealerships all over So Cal. I even texted dealerships to get lower prices and not one could match the price. One came relatively close, but I only wanted to pay the lowest dollar amount! We love our 2020 CR-V!
