We were at The Westfield University Town Center in San Diego for a late lunch at Silverlake Ramen. Afterwards, my brother and his family along with my daughters and I all walked around this amazing center. We happened to walk by a Tesla store with cars in it. I was surprised to see this kind of setup. I'm used to seeing a store with phones in it, but not cars LOL. Anyway, I saw a robot near the entrance door and I was curious so I walked in to check it out. It was the Tesla Bot. Unfortunately, it wasn't turned on at the time. I find it interesting that they made a bot, too. What next? It was a good showroom of Tesla cars. I don't own a Tesla, but my brother does. He was fascinated by the different models. It was neat to sit inside a Tesla and see its nice features. Funny, the first time I sat in a Tesla, I didn't know how to open the door... I probably still don't LOL. What would happen if Ikea made a car? Went in to test out the gull wing minivan. Grabbed the open gull wing to gently close it and was scolded not to close the door manually - it was so flimsy I just laughed noting "Good thing you won't be hauling any children with this thing - I know they would never hang on this flimsy little door." As for the drive - it felt like I was driving an electric scooter. They kept talking GREEN - I didn't ask about the fossil fuel footprint for mining and shipping and assembling all the stuff that went into that bed-sized battery - which is prohibitively expensive to replace and degrades in 8 or 10 years - even if the car just sits in your garage - so basically you are buying a disposable car with a short shelf life. That all sucks, but the real issue was poor fit and finish. Admittedly, I usually drive Lexus - which have far better quality and quality control. Also admittedly, if you are building a disposable car, you probably don't need to worry about fit and finish or QC. It's junk in 10 years anyway - so who cares - not like anyone driving it really cares about the environment. Buying a Tesla is like buying IKEA - not solid Oak. Frankly, if I'm buying electric, I'd buy a BYD anyway - I drove one overseas - beats the stuffing out of a Tesla. read more

I finally made the decision to do it! Test drive a Tesla! I always see the Teslas parked in the back parking structure when I visit. (I always park in the back because the in/out traffic is not as hectic as the front.) We were in the area so why not?!? This location is at Westfield mall at UTC. The store is a bit hidden within the mall and it's a short walk from there to the cars. I'd recommend making a test drive appointment online for the time/location you want instead of walking in like we did. You can definitely walk in for a test drive, and we came in at a slow time. So we were told the next test drive time slot was open in about a half an hour. Great! So we thought... Since the car we wanted to test drive were both out and delayed coming back. We actually waited just over an hour to do our test drive. Danny was our rep and he was super informative and helpful. He apologized for the wait and was able to track the delayed cars... and have them come back to the mall, which was kinda cool to see. When they finally arrived, we went out to the car and Danny completely sanitized the car and wiped everything down in front of us. I really appreciate that he took the extra time to do that for us. He proceeded to give us a quick lesson on how to operate the car and off we went. The test drive is only supposed to be 20 minutes. But I can see why everyone is delayed. 20 minutes is not enough time to do a test drive and see if it's the right car for you. Even though the test drive was short, the actual drive itself was pretty good! If you're thinking about getting a Tesla, definitely take a test drive and get familiar with all the bells and whistles. They just fished me at the beginning by showing me a low payment then after I ordered the car and paid $250 They said the payment raised on the app to $270 before They run my credit. they cancelled my order and took my order fee. please see all the screenshots conversation with tesla team.. A cousin recommended I speak to Franklin when I was thinking about getting a Tesla to replace my old gas car. She got hers through Franklin a couple years earlier. I spoke to Franklin in Dec '23 but decided to wait for the 2024 model. I finally pulled the trigger in August '24. Franklin was extremely helpful throughout the process. He was always polite and available over the phone or through texts whenever I had a question. Before stepping into Tesla that day, I had visited both the Mercedes and Porsche San Diego dealerships, speaking with their sales associates for at least an hour each. My dad and I came in today, 10:35, March 23rd, the lady who helped us was extremely condescending when we had a few simple questions since it's my parents first tesla. My dad tried to ask questions and she either interrupted or responded like we were stupid, my dad asked if they sold a super charger at other tesla stores and she responded with "what other stores... " and as my dad tried to respond she interrupted him and said "look, if you want items you order it online" before he could finish his sentence. My dad said "it's okay never mind" and we left shortly after. Usually I don't like to leave bad reviews, but It doesn't sit right to me when someone talks rudely to my parents especially when they're simply asking for help. First and foremost, I love driving my new Model 3. My sales advisor Greg was very helpful to bring a car to my house for the rest drive and helping me secure the car I wanted quickly. Unfortunately in a little over a week of ownership I've had multiple issues. You name it - white filmy residue and scratches on my car on delivery, one of my front sensors is not working, auto rain sensor isn't working, autopilot and lane/traffic view is intermittently working, and the mobile charger I got with my car didn't work either then the replacement charger I was given was missing an adapter for public charging. I've had a lot of different cars from MiniCooper to Mercedes, BMW, Volvo, and Infiniti and I've never had so many issues in such a short time. Tesla is trying to resolve these issues (my third visit to Tesla in 8 days) but it's definitely a bummer experience for a new Tesla owner. To add insult to injury, the referral gift my friend was supposed to be able to get is somehow not available, and the purchase price for my car has gone down $2300 in the last few days. Had I known that I would have waited to purchase and perhaps gotten a car without these issues or added autopilot. Why am I not giving them less stars? Greg and support/service have been really nice through it all and I'm hopeful to get the car back soon fully functional. And as I said, I do LOVE the car (when it's working as it was designed). Sorry but the new vehicle I got in July is a piece of junk. I have purchased many new vehicles and never have I had issues with the quality of the vehicle. There is this creaking sound from the dashboard that is super annoying. Took it in twice and I still hear it. Now the passenger door creaks when you open it. It's like the vehicle was glued together. They also want to charge for the service which is complete bs. Sorry but if it wasn't for the gas prices being ridiculously high and federal tax credit I would've purchased a lexus instead. I went into this store 23rd of November with my brother, I walked into the store and greeted the attendants, and I was ignored by the first attendant who helped us, Franklin. My brother walked in after me, and only spoke to him, back turned to me and everything. When we walked in he only addressed my brother, offered him to test drive, again back completely turned to me. When we came back, again he only addressed my brother, if I spoke at all he completely ignored me and had his back turned to me. That completely turned me off to the Tesla experience and I hope this was a solitary incident, but it probably wasn't. Have had ups and downs with this location over the years. They were very helpful when I bought my first Model S in 2014. I was able to test drive models with different options to decide on what I wanted. Fast forward to 2020 and the purchase of a Model 3. Our sales rep offered her email and phone number but did not respond to texts or messages. Had to go to the showroom to flag her down in person. Very frustrating. Yesterday we entered the showroom and engaged in friendly chat with one rep but were then approached by another rep. This guy tried the hard sell normally associated with a used car lot. He was telling me that I "didn't really use" the unlimited free supercharging on my current car since I have relatively low mileage. I do use and appreciate that feature very much. He then wanted to price my car on KBB even though I expressed no interest in replacing it. I think I'll just stick to the Tesla website for any future needs. read more

My husband and I visited this showroom to see if they have the model X Plaid on display just to see the interiors because we have carseats and i want to make sure i can still squeeze in between those carseats. They didn't have the model X Plaid but Melvin was so kind to Google some videos of different people reviews with carseats too. Melvin knows Tesla and answered all my husband's questions without any rush. Anyways by watching those videos convinced me that the model X Plaid is spacious enough that would make me comfortable taking care of the kids (easy access to them). We had a great experience at this Tesla location! My husband and I came here after a bad experience at the Fashion Valley location, and I'm so glad we did! Gil was our salesman and he was amazing! We just wanted to look at the Model 3 and do a test drive, and we ended up going home in our very own Model 3 that same night! The whole process went very smoothly. After we ordered the car we had to wait about 2 hours for it to be ready for pick up. Gil suggested in the meantime we go to Carmax and get my car that I was trading in appraised, and if they quoted us higher than Tesla then they would match it. Carmax quoted us $2000 more than Tesla! I'm so grateful that our salesman recommended we go there! We brought the quote to the pick up center and they were able to take care of it for us. Just to preface- this review is based solely on the customer service at this location, not on Tesla as whole. Went in with a friend to order a car on a Saturday; we did not have an appointment. Mekhail helped us out and she was such a joy! Although it was quite busy, we were able to test drive the model of interest with no wait time. We were able to drive the car for about thirty minutes, and she walked through all the features of the model. It was mind blowing on how easy the reservation/purchase process is. This is mostly due to you chose your model, exterior color, interior color, and rim style. The prices are fixed, so there is no negotiating. It's literally click, click, click done. To be honest, I love having options and building/adding what I want, and I find sick enjoyment in negotiating. BUT! If a Tesla is what you want, this spot is for you. Ask for Mekhail- she is amazing. I went to this location and not only are there zero cars to look at, the sales person (if you can call her that) was very uninterested in helping or answering any questions, once I told her I was there for a test drive. She pointed to a computer in the corner and said "we are still selling them, but we won't have any to look at for several more weeks...". I bought a floor model Tesla Model S back in 2016. The sales department made me initially feel like "part of a new family" of electric car owners who were advancing the next generation phase of environmental friendly transportation, convincing me that as an early owner in the development of electric vehicles including all of the existing features on the P100D listed on the window sticker (since it was a floor model), along with some additional "upcoming" software features such as FDS/Autopilot, etc., the price tag of an high priced sedan ($150k) would surely be worth it in customer support, R&D, and service in the future. Nothing could be further from the truth. Sold as a "used" vehicle with over 100 miles, sometime after 2 months of delivery, a Tesla software update randomly deleted the fastest acceleration mode, called "Ludicrous", without notification or refund, noticed simply by a passenger checking out the car's features and point it out to me that it was no longer there. Within 6 months, the "autopark" feature backed the car up at 1mph into a concrete wall without so much as even a driver warning about proximity to the wall as the car was in reverse approaching the wall. Tesla service department refused to open an engineering ticket to research both situations, even after numerous visits to fix other recalls and issues (mirrors, circuit board, etc.). For the original purchase items to even work, they are now requiring me to upgrade the entire CPU and probably other items at an extra cost for what never even worked in the first place. Doing further investigation by asking the service department to print out my "sales sticker" (called Monroney), it did not match the one that I was hand delivered, thus violating state law. In addition, it didn't even match the confusing sales invoice, which they claimed some standard features don't appear vs. the sales sticker either, so whatever Tesla has on file for the car, there was at least 3 versions changed at some point after delivery for property that I had title to. Tesla is a bait and switch business model and as one of their first customers, there is no "reward" of customer service and repair from spending a large amount to keep their R&D afloat. So, Tesla I wish you good luck in the future, but I'm not one of your customers. read more

If I can I will give Tesla customer service a 0 because there is no customer service post sale. Yes, everything is great before you buy the car and being a tesla fan for years I can tell you the car drives great too. But when you have issues afterwards, there is no one to help you. Here is the story: My account got hacked and someone ordered a wall charger and shipping to another state. I am not only didn't receive any email from tesla warning me abnormal activities (like changing phone number, billing address and shipping address all at the same time) nor the website did anything to stop a order with wrong billing address! All I got is an email saying your order is confirmed. Then I was trying to get a human being from tesla to cancel this order because whoever did this obviously didn't deserve getting a product for free. Guess what, you can search tesla.com all you can, there is NO phone number for post sale issues. I emailed onlineorder@tesla.com and nobody responded. After a day, I got an email saying your order is shipped! So I feel like I have to do something so I end up calling the general tesla number and the system directed me to UTC store, the guy on the phone told me this is out of his job scope and the only way to resolve this to email onlineorder@tesla.com. I asked for an email or number to file complaint, he said there is none. I asked if there is other ways to resolve this faster so the bad guys aren't getting what they want, he said: I understand, I am sorry but there is no other ways, you need to contact onlineorder@tesla.com. I said thank you and he hang up the phone as quickly as he can. At this point I am pretty sure tesla isn't going to do anything to protect my interest. I called BoA to dispute the transaction which they agreed and will investigate why this went through with wrong billing address. And I called Fedex and explained to them the situation, and they filed an internal case that once this package reaches Fedex it will be sent back to Tesla. BoA and Fedex gets 5 stars! Since there is no way to file a complaint I just want to share the story here so more ppl can see. Protect your account as much as you can(enable two factor auth). And if you run into same issue, your best bet is your bank and whichever shipping company because tesla isn't helping. Now I am afraid to even put any credit card on my tesla account.
