I normally love Costco gas but then there is this place. It is hard to get to the pumps. Its a literal maze that drives me crazy trying to figure it out somedays. Let alone to get to the pumps you need to weave through/past rows and rows of parked cars. The next problem wi this point is that the price is always 5-10 cents higher than every other costco that I know of... Talk about a major downer. Definitely not a good sign. At least like all of the other costco's I can use my Costco AmEx card. So it is nice to be able to get regular rebates on the already discounted gas. Overall the fuel itself is fine and the service by the gas station attendants is fine, it's just the stupid set up in the parking lot and the lack of planning when they laid this place out. Yes, chances are your Costco gas is just as good as others with Techron or V-Power (ahem). Now compound that with at least a 20c discount per gallon, plus 3% cash back with the Costco AMEX, pumping gas here is a complete, utter win. Cheap gas! On the day of visit it was $3.07 (91) now that is not bad for gas. LIne is long but it goes by fast if the people would just not sit in the car. I love this place only because it's always 30-40 cents cheaper than the surrounding gas stations (although always higher than other costcos). The line of cars waiting to get gas though? ALWAYS a long line that stretches out to the red light by Souplantation. 9/10 times I go there's always a huge line, no matter if I'm there at 9am, 12pm, 3pm, or 9:30pm there's always a line. They've added a sign post to indicate which of the 3 pump stations in each row are available. Still gets a lot of traffic though even with the new Monterey Park Costco/gas location. Lines are always long especially because the entrance line and gas lines intersect. Just be patient :/ read more

Cheapest gas in the Alhambra area, sure the parking lot is a maze and a bitch to navigate around, but the price made this a worthwhile trip. Note that they open early in the morning at 6:30 and stay open well after the main Costco store closes. Come extra early before work or come after dinner to avoid the crazy lines. Alternatively, you can always come when you are shopping at Costco and have your spouse or significant other wait for gas while you shop. At 10 to 15 cents cheaper for a gallon, I save on average $2 each fill up, that is almost $100 in savings a year, that is more than what they charge for their annual membership fee. read more

I purchased gas in 12/23 at pump 15. On 12/25, my bank fraud dept called about possible fraudulent charges on the same card. I informed them that they were indeed fraudulent. I came in this morning to talk to a Costco manager about what happened. Raquel came to talked to me and did not take down any info and did not even ask what pump it was. She also informed me Costco did not have any kind of complaint or reporting system for this. I tried making a online complaint and Costco does not have the ability to take any kind of complaint or report about this. I only get gas at Costco. It's usually about 10-15 cents cheaper than any other gas stations around town. I also have a Costco amex where you can get money back so that just adds to why this is my go-to gas station. The attendants are pretty friendly and chill. Avoid peak hours and days if you don't want to wait in long lines! The biggest costco gas station and still always crowded!! The prices at costco for gas are always a steal and the customer service is great! someone is always out there greeting you with a smile. The customer pool sometimes is difficult to deal with because they delay traffic by not pulling up and make the line go way out of the entrance. Costco gas is always consistent: cheap gas and long lines. The lines usually go through pretty quick but you don't want to go here if you need to be somewhere fast. If it's a chill day where running errands includes grabbing something at Costco it works out. Last night I spent about two hours at Costco buying things I didn't know I needed and got to the checkout counter just about closing. Halfway through my items being rung up it was brought to my attention that Costco doesn't accept MasterCard--the only card I had with me. My heart sunk and apparently it showed on my face. The young lady cashier acted quickly, called for help, the help called the customer service desk and asked them not to close and to process an instant credit account for me. A major perk of having a Costco card is definitely being able to pump Costco gas. Costco gas is always at least 20 cents cheaper than other gas stations. There are only two options of gas to pump here; unleaded and premium. I always pump unleaded and I have never paid more than $50 to get a full tank. Thank the costco lords!!!! The wait time could sometimes take forever but is it worth the wait? I say definitely! Just make sure to give yourself enough time and go with the mindset of already knowing that you're going to have to wait in line! Saving a few bucks has never hurt anyone :) read more

Some of these reviews make me chuckle a little. The complaints are never about the prices - it's always about the lines. Well, everyone is there for the cheap gas, just like you. If you aren't there for the prices, there are tons of stations within a mile with no wait. Personally, I mainly go Costco for the gas. I like the long hoses so it doesn't matter which side the tank is on. Since I always pay for gas with debit, Costco is cheapest (Arco charges that .35 fee) so I go there whenever I can. But if it's the middle of the day and I have things to do, I go to another station and avoid the crowds that sit in their cars for half an hour to save a dollar. read more

Updated review: Someone wrote to me and said that my info was wrong and that my review contained dangerous info if given to the wrong person. Odd, since my review is about a gas station. Engine knocking, octane and ethanol doesn't kill your car or a person. Car/Motorcycle if left too long w/o Stabil is a pain in the butt. Car/Motorcycle will not start until you change out all the gas. Ethanol. *He did catch a mistake, higher octane burns slower, not faster*. That was a fact that I should have caught - so that tells me that I can't write reviews on the fly on my phone w/o proofreading it again before posting. Through my own personal experience (and I'm sure a lot of people think the same), I think that premium gas doesn't last as long as regular. Race gas has over 100 octane and that doesn't last long AT ALL. I got my first car when I was 16 years old in 1991. Gas was under $1 then. My dad was a mechanic (actually, a mechanical engineer) and worked on all our cars at home until he retired. My dad drives a Toyota Camry (though he can definitely get a nicer car if he wanted to) and he would NEVER even think of putting premium in anything. PERSONAL EXPERIENCE: My gas HAS gone bad before from ethanol & I had to drain it, etc. not fun. Also, I experience engine knocking buying premium at Costco. Nowhere else, just Costco. My mom loved getting gas at Costco. She doesn't anymore. There is always a chance that Costco was having an off-day, so we bought one more tank of Costco premium after filling up the next tank w/non-costco gas (engine knocking went away). Engine knocking came back again when buying premium at Costco. Two separate isolated incidents is enough to keep me away. Since the time I had to change out all of my gas (this was about five years ago), I've used Seafoam and Stabil (the one for watercrafts - just in case...). And it's because of the ethanol added to the gas. We can only get 91 octane as premium in CA. Most of the states I've been to do use ethanol. But you can generally still get 92 for premium. My last car was a Ford F-150, and I used regular gas (not Costco). The last three cars (Land Rover LR3, Audi A4, Land Rover Discovery) before that was premium only (again not Costco). If you think that my info is wrong, please feel free to look up what ethanol does to gas. My car is sports car that has turbo and is supposed to be filled with premium all the time. When I lived in WA, there was actually an app for your iPhone that showed you gas stations that were still ethanol free. read more
