This is a great Costco. It has a huge parking lot that is easy to get in and out of and there is always parking available. They have a gas station on the way in, so you can fill up, then proceed to the full shopping trip. They have a neat store with clean aisles and inventory where it should be. The staff are friendly and usually do a great job at addressing the line situation. Sometimes a little over eager in the self check out. We have almost always been able to find what we are looking for, or if they don't have it, the other Costcos don't have it either. Plenty of seating for the eating area as well without crowding the people trying to leave. read more

Typical Costco..We frequent there quite often. I prefer it over the one in Silverdale.

This is one of my favorite places to shop. You can find just about anything! And I do mean anything, on one of my last visit they were selling $200 toilet seats! Gotta love this place! read more

Typical Costco near my parents place. Never had a problem here and the lines are generally reasonable when I've gone.

Friendly staff, usually reasonable lines, and the pharmacy is run by competent people. This is the Costco I choose to go to when possible.

This Costco gas doesn't carry diesel fuel! My local Costco in Silverdale carries diesel at every pump. Here there are 22 pumps and none. Huge fail here. read more

I have always been a fan of Costco, but love it even more after visiting the Costco in Gig Harbor! It's a very clean, organized store and carries high-end products that you wouldn't expect at a store like this. The staff have always been super nice as well. read more

On two occasions I have been informed by a Costco Gig Harbor Tire Center employee of a phone when my tire(s) are ready. Well the phone calls never happened. Given other postings regarding this Tire Center perhaps you should look elsewhere for your tire needs in Gig Harbor. Costco is wonderful at accepting your money; perhaps they can work on delivery wonderful service too. Invoice # 6240066942, you will miss out on my next two tire purchases, $593.00 and $762.00. Well, all Costcos are good, and the Gig Harbor store is very good. It is one of the few with a unique architecture (thanks to city design standards, not Costco's conscience). Plenty of parking and a short walk to the entrance are pluses. Like all Costcos, inventory varies but doesn't seem to represent the high-value Gig Harbor neighborhood. Certainly don't understand the prior review . . . exit Hiway 16, go straight up the hill about 1/2 mile on the main arterial, and turn into the Costco lot. Some of the worst staff I have ever encountered. While there are some good people here the majority are unhelpful jerks. Any question is met with a rolling of the eyes, or no answer. I've had distributers from other companies help me find an item because the staff either didn't know or was not around to ask. I hate having to be hassled and chased down to see my card as I am walking into the food court just to have lunch, return an item, or talk to the tier people.They act like it is my fault that they are not paying attention when I show my card. On top of all the bad service, items are pulled out of stock 1 month and then put back. Whats up with that? read more

I disagree. This is the worst experience I have ever had at a costco. At all the other costco I have been do the customer service is amazing. But today I went to the Gig Harbor store with my husband and in laws. There member ship is a day past due. We the woman told them they were confused because when they had been in there the previous week and had asked when the membership was up the associate did not tell them it was ending on the first of April. She told my in laws that they either had to pay for the member right then and there or get out. They said they couldn't and said that their rebate check was at home and she said well okay I can't ring you up. When they said okay and thanked her she didn't even look at them and just yelled "bring back the check." This is rediculous! For one they were misinformed the previous week about there member ship. And seeing as there was a confusion and they were only a day past due the woman should have been more polite. Instead she was rude and nasty and didn't treat my in laws like people at all. They were nice through the whole process and are now hurt by the way they were treated at a store they shop at weekly. I gave the costco a one star because this was one of the worst customer service experiences I had in my life. read more

Love this Costco. Staff are friendly and helpful everything is extremely clean. I've always been treated with extra care as a member and it's part of why I keep buying up. Free sample erryday for lunch is nice too ;) Always a good selection tons of organic and natural choices. Prices are fantastic for staples if you're living alone or in a big family. read more

I paid for flooring and install through Costco which they sub out to a contractor. I paid $13,555.48 for the flooring, install and removal of carpets. The flooring company that Costco subbed came out and gave me an estimate in May 2018. I paid them shortly after the estimate and scheduled the install for June. When they came out in June they said my floors weren't perfectly level and therefore couldn't do the install. They never mentioned my floors not being level at the time they took the measurements. Now I have no flooring and I'm out $13,555.48. The $13,555.48 was for the flooring, carpet disposal, and furniture move. Nothing was done, but I'm out all of the money. Costco's customer service response was that they cannot refund for custom flooring. There was no custom flooring. The flooring I picked was regular vinyl flooring. Also how do they figure that I should also be out for the estimate part that was for carpet removal and disposal, and the furniture move when none of it ever happened. Do not use sub contractors through Costco because they hire fly by the night companies and will not deliver or refund. I am disappointed in Costco that they do not stand behind their installs and are perfectly okay with you paying thousands for nothing. Funny thing is I also do not have the flooring. I have been searching for a particular product (Mont Blanc Pen). The Tacoma store is sold out and said to check with the Gig Harbor location (the computer listed them as possibly having some inventory). Before I made the drive over there I tried calling first. Not once, not twice but three times. The phone selections don't even list Electronics as an option so the employees that answered sounded irritated that I bothered them. Each time I was sent to a phone that rang 10-15 times and hung up. I finally called their "admin" option and as I was explaining what I was looking for I was sent off to a non-answered phone that hung up on me yet again. Pretty store (WHATEVER) or not, they need some lessons on customer service. read more

This is one of the nicest Costco's that I have shopped. The only negative is the series of roundabouts getting from Highway 16 to the store. They are not fun. read more

After purchasing a new set of tires and making an appointment to have them installed we returned next day to have the tires mounted. When I arrived at the door I was told I could not go from the exit right to the tire center I would have to do thru the store back up to the registers thru the check out stand and then back to the tire center counter. After looking around and no one was at the counter, I asked the girls at the customer service could someone help and now was told I just need to wait person was busy after several minutes (OK). The young lady who came then asked where I had parked? I told her right across the tire store doors. I was then told no I should have parked around the side of these doors as this was their customer area. WHAT I was never told this before no signage. Really I should now go back out and move my car further away then come back again ? She said just FYI even thought I was parked in the wrong space she would have her guys get my car. BUT this was not policy. After picking my car up I had a question, the new tires seemed smaller just needed to know if I bought the right tires. The employee then said they are exactly like you had before, you are just looking at the tire and are not seeing it. His body language and tone made me feel like WHAT A DUMB **** ? YOU ARE WASTING MY TIME. I have to say this was the first time I have left any Costco not wanting to renew my membership. read more

I have shopped at various Costco's for over 20 years. It's a shame that the level of respect at the Gig Harbor store is so bad. They insist on seeing your membership card when going to member services, the tire center, or the deli. Often times the checkers are rude, as they do not even offer a thank you when you're done checking out. They just hand you your receipt. read more
