This place is right in my back door and mostly I just get gas and office supplies and envelopes here. The staff is friendly and they have a lot of stuff but i don't buy in bulk and some of the prices here seem to be the same as regular prices. I've been here many times, but used them to cater a big party recently. We purchased a cake and had our names put on it. They are so delicious and really beautiful for only $20. We also got sandwiches, turkey rolls, truffles, berries, and more. Everyone loved it! If you are hosting a party, stop here! They had really nice plastic dishware- the plates were designed after real china and the cutlery like silver. They even had plastic wine glasses and serving utensils. We were expecting to run all over town, but it ended up being a one-stop shop! We couldn't have been happier. read more

Costco has first class produce, ad well as meats and other various items. All pretty much top of the line. You pay a yearly membership for the privilege to shop there. The rationale for the two star is their lack of customer support for the disabled. They have oodles of handicapped parking spaces which are always full, but have ONLY FOUR (4) electric carts for the entire store on a good day. That is ridiculous! The average Kroger will have 15 carts in "working" condition per store. Management is totally unresponsive to complaints about their lack of support. And I know the obvious "don't renew your membership"... don't think I will, good products are worthless if you can not get to them. read more

I've been excited for the Costco to open here in Lexington since I saw the sign go up about a year ago, and this morning I called to get some details on frozen turkeys. I admittedly have not visited the new location yet (which is very near my home), but I wanted to get some pricing details before going in to the store. After waiting 10 minutes on hold for the meat department, someone picked up from the liquor department. I announce that I was holding for the meat department, and was promptly placed back on hold. After another 7 or 8 minutes on hold, I simply hung up. After hearing all the great things about Costco and how their customer service was so much better than Sam's Club and other big retailers, I was justifiably underwhelmed... Looks like I won't be going to Costco any time soon. Disappointed in the lack of service from my first phone call. Pick up your phones! read more

I'm not sure one can say anything bad about Costco. I mean, you get amazing quality in their products at a fraction of the cost where you would find elsewhere. They have everything from vaccinations to pork belly to rain jackets. On top of everything else, there is a very affordable food court where I can get my personal favorite $1.50 hot dog combo. This location is on par with other Costco warehouses I've been to and all of the staff are friendly and helpful. read more

This place is pitiful compared to Costco's in Florence or Louisville. We walked in the door to photos lab it's broke down, went to eye glassses to get adjusted they still aren't right. Costco is my favorite place to go, I often go once every day because I have nothing to do better with my life. The general manager, Steve, is such a nice fellow and we always talk when I see him. This building is ran by great people who are always smiling. I can always count on Costco to brighten up my day. Costco can just take my money. This is one of my happy places in town. There's so many things that I love about this place and their customer service is always on point. Why on earth did it take me this long to write about how great this place is, who knows ‍, but I'm writing about them now! Best time to come here, in my opinion, is on weekends when they have plenty of tastings; featuring some of the food items they sell. You can get fed and shop at the same time! One best deal they have are their rotisserie chicken. You can buy one for the week ($4.99) and make several meals from it; they are bigger compared to other grocery store's rotisserie chicken. Your family is hungry but your low on cash? Come here and eat their food. A hotdog combo (comes with drink and free refills) for $1.50! A large pizza cost $10 and it's big enough to feed a family of 4 or 5. They also have several organic products to choose from and when you buy in bulk, it'll last you a while. Gas is also cheaper here, and if I'm out of Kroger points, I come here to gas up. If your thinking of getting a membership here, don't think, just do it! It's worth it. If your a UK employee, I believe you can get a deal when you get a Costco membership. Just look it up on UK's employee discount page. read more

I purchased new Michelin tires from Costco two weeks ago. I had them installed at Costco 6/13/22. I drove my car throughout the week. I drove to visit family about 80 miles from me and when I got off the interstate I started hearing a noise that seemed to be coming from my front left tire. When I arrived I checked my lug nuts on my front left tired and was able to twist all five with my fingers. Whomever put this tire on my car at Costco did not check my lug nuts. My wheel could have easily came off. This is particularly concerning because of the high speed one travels on the interstate. I contacted Costco Tire Center and spoke with a supervisor. He apologized for the inconvenience. The apology does not make it ok and he told me they would investigate the situation. I provided my phone number for a follow up, but I have yet to get a return call after a week. I will not use the Costco Tire Center again and would not recommend their careless work to anyone else. Their carelessness could have caused me to wreck. read more

Needed new tires for my CRV checked several places and Costco had the best price. Another place I called would have charged me over $150 for the same tires. When I went to Costco the tires were about 20 dollars cheaper than they quoted me on the phone. Great customer service! Will be buying new tires here for my husband's car soon. read more

I love Costco as a company and the Lexington location is great. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have great deals on large quantities and also on name brand clothing and shoes. We go there for everything from chicken to toilet paper and clothing. There are times when the lines are long and it is congested but that is the nature of being there on the weekend. read more

I can't even explain how exciting it is to have a piece of home in ky! (I moved here from Cali a couple months back) yes some things are slightly more pricey than SAMs but the quality is a thousand times better! I've found rotting fruit filled with fruit flies, rotten meat, ect. at SAMs. Not here everything is top notch. The only thing I don't really care for is all the cost is in Cali have a HUGE range of alcohol, wine, champagne and beer to choose from and you don't have too many reasonably priced wines. I just love everything about Costco until I came in to order a cake & something I observed has disheartened me tremendously! I noticed a young man who was making muffins using his bare hand to dip in the muffin batter & then sling it in the muffin pans! I freaked out! I ask the woman that waited on me about it & she said that is the way they do it & that once it was baked the oven killed any germs! I told her I still didn't want any more muffins from there! She stated they only did the muffins like that! Well, what about any loose hair which grows on your hands or maybe a loose nail that you didn't realize you had!!! This makes me sick! This is a nice new Costco with plenty of parking and is easy to access from the freeway. Gas prices are usually one of the cheapest in town.

Let me start by saying how much we enjoy the store, the competent and friendly staff and of course the great values at Costco. We would be there more often, but for one thing; the sparsity almost non-existence, of motorized shopping carts. The parking lot is well laid out with numerous handicapped spots, but when you get into the store, there is rarely, if ever, a motorized cart. My wife spent two years in a hospital, suffered a spinal stroke, and must use a walker. Have you ever tried to walk the expanse of this store in a walker? We approached the store management to inquire if they would be getting more electric carts. We were told that each store was only allocated 5 or 6 carts because it was management's opinion that they were just being abused by people who don't really need them. If that were the case, why not eliminate the handicapped parking since many of those are misused also? My wife was appointed to the Governor's Occupational Rehabilitation Council, and finds this thinking troubling from both the perspective of representing the many handicapped people in Kentucky and personal misfortune. She/we would like to ask that this policy be reviewed so that more handicapped individuals can enjoy the great service and value at Costco. Thank you for your consideration. read more

No. Do you have any salt at all that I can put on the tomato in my sandwich. Answer? No, we don't have salt anywhere. My response? This is CostCo. I love costco, like love love love. I think their employee and business practices are superior to most big chain businesses and therefore I feel better about spending money here. I typically buy all my paper products from costco, tp, kleenex, water, organic lettuce and some vegetables. There are even pretty good deals on clothes, socks, shoes and vitamins. Our recent trip here involved an interesting return purchase. I had bought some items online that needed to be returned. Costco is very flexible when it comes to returning items that dont work for you or arent to your liking. i hear having a good return policy actually makes people purchase more. I know if it doesnt work I can always take it back, no problem. My items I returned today were no big deal, but the service was super slow. it was then end of the day and the return counter seemed a little bit flustered. Gasoline also available at this location. I hear amex lost their costco contract so they will likely be accepting more cc types in the future. yay costco. read more

I recently bought a $995.00 lap top and it is now not working. it had a 90 day warranty to be refunded and it lasted 97 days before dying. After hours of taking to the service department, it has to be repaired. will take 2 weeks or so. not a happy camper here. read more

It is such a great pleasure to shop at Costco. We joined on the first day it opened and we have been back several times since. Costco has now become our #1 destination for shopping. We love all the cheerful people serving us. The "dim-sum" on weekends, the fresh fish that we had from Panama, the gas station where we fill up. The savings on gas exceeds 30 cents per gallon as compared with others! My wife got 2 pairs of glasses for about $300! I have bought paper and ink for my printer. All fist class! And if you are not satisfied, you return the item and the cheerful person at the counter does the return with a smile and one leaves quite happy! Great store! Great folks. All well trained! I especially love Costco's gas prices and even though I don't need many of the items they offer because of size -- I'm a one-person household -- there are some things I do use and it was great at Christmas when I buy for several families. Since Yelp won't stop hassling me about reviewing this place, here goes. I keep coming back because I love the place. We recently bought a FoodSaver (guess where from) so now I'm buying our meats in bulk from here so I can vacuum seal them in smaller portions, precook meat and freeze for later, etc. Their meat quality is very good. Our Costco staples are as follows: toilet paper, laundry soap, canned or bottled carbonated water, Tillamook cheddar (a taste from back home), Donut Shop k-cups, Nature Valley granola bars... I know I'm forgetting other stuff but you get the point. We've bought clothes there, really nice stuff. We love the liquor store section, great deals on wine and bourbon. They currently have a huge stock of Blade & Bow bourbon for only $45. And you don't need to be a member to shop in the liquor section. And we love their gas prices, of course. I only have 2 complaints. I hate how they stop carrying products all of a sudden. That's maddening when you fall in love with something then it goes away. :( And the credit card restriction can be frustrating. When my husband would need to buy office supplies, he couldn't use the company CC. We would have to pay for it with our own debit card, resulting in filling out reimbursement paperwork that was a hassle. read more

After being of member of Sams Club since 2000 my wife and I decided to join Costco Wholesale in late Fall of 2017. Employees at Costco were very unprofessional with customers, when we complained to store manager he said employees need more training?? We shredded our Costco Membership Card and went back to Sams Club. It is much better and a lot less crowded plus the employees at Sams are much nicer.
