The shampoo was never opened. It sat in my car so that I can return it and when I got there, I guess because it sat in the car with hot temperatures, it leaked a little well. Lori explained to me that it had been opened and they weren't sure if they could take it back I reassured her. I never opened it. It never came out of the bag. Well, I don't know. I'll have someone go to the hair salon to open up another and see if there was a seal that was on it as she asked another employee to do that. I told her it was never opened. It never came out of the bag well, I don't know that well, I'm telling you it didn't come out of the bag so if it wasted, it may have been due to the heat, but of course well I'll have someone do it this time. No thank you no smile on the face just nasty attitudes and I'm wondering is because of my melanin.

After I told her no she continued her pitch for me to get a credit card that I do not want. And even made her unwanted pitch a third time. Why does the word annoying come to mind... She rang up the socks at a higher than expected price, so I said I thought they were on sale. She said no they're full price, $22. When I got to the car, I decided to check the price online. $5.50 less. I decided to go back inside and I told her they are on sale online, can't you honor the price? Let's be real about JCPenney's situation. It was 7:00 p.m., I don't think I even saw five shoppers in the whole store. She said "No, that's an online price". That's all she had to say, she couldn't bother to say anything such as "I could ask my manager". I told her, get a manager for me. He came up front and adjusted the price for me. So what is the problem with the young brunette at the checkout who showed no regard for a customer satisfaction with her short and unhelpful answers? But, she was very willing to use words when she was trying to talk me into a credit card I have no need for. And not once or twice, but three times. I hate to see this story go out of business because there are few brick and mortar retail stores like JCPenney. If their prices in the store were as advertised online, wouldn't they bring in more traffic? And if they had something that resembled friendly and helpful customer service more people would probably shop here also. She had plenty of time to help me, there was no one in line behind me.

Customer Service: The staff are usually friendly and welcoming. The return/exchange area is located on the left side of the store, so if you need to do returns/exchanges or pick up online orders, I recommend parking on the left side of the store. The right side of the store has the food & makeup section. The left side of the store has the sports, electronics, & Bulleye's Playground ($1+ section). Bathroom: The bathroom is located in the front of the store. Every time I've gone to this Target, the bathroom is always clean and smells like lemon. I'm not sure how frequent they clean the bathrooms, but I love it. Merchandise: This Target location has good inventory. There's almost a clearance section in every section of the store. The clearance section has a yellow sign that says "Clearance" so you can't miss them. The clearance is hit or miss. I've found some good clothing on clearance for the most part. Overall Experience: Overall, I always have a good shopping experience at Target. The staff are usually friendly, good inventory, & great deals every so often. I don't love it because everyone and their mom and THEIR moms all shop here, so you're not getting anything super unique. I bought an owl sweater at the Oakbrook Terrace location because I have an owl obsession. The way that it was displayed in the store, it had a collared shirt underneath it and it looked super preppy yet stylish. I ordered the sweater one size up, assuming that it would need to be a little bigger to put a collared shirt under it. When I finally found a collared shirt to match, the sweater was still too huge so I had to bring it back. Let me also note, that I'd bought this sweater 3-4 weeks earlier and it'd been hanging in my closet until I could hunt down the perfect shirt to go underneath it. I'd since lost the receipt, because everything always gets thrown out at my house. I was super nervous bringing it in that they would hassle me and I'd be stuck with this huge sweater. I came in this past Sunday and the line was horrendous--so horrendous that I contemplated just hanging my sweater up and grabbing the right size, but since I could never do something like that - I decided to wait it out. The line went really fast though. When I finally made it up to the register, I explained my plight to the nice lady and she told me that they didn't have anymore of the owl sweaters but I could pick out something else. Disappointed, I ran back to find something else and ended up with a brown/black and grey plain sweater. When I came back up, the lady told me that since I paid with my debit card, they could find my transaction. I handed over my card and in less than 15 seconds, she found my purchase. Lucky for me too, the sweaters happened to be on sale, so not only was I walking out with a sweater in the right size, but I was walking out the door $8 richer. Overall, my experience this weekend was a good one. The store was organized, the line moved quick and the cashier was friendly. I'm giving 4 stars because the team were great but don't expect me to start shopping here on a weekly basis!

As for Family Dollar locations in general I consider them a lower…read moretier smaller branch of a Walmart or Target; carrying similar items, but slightly lower in quality. I love them because you can always find them throughout the city which makes it slightly more convenient to find more than a Walmart or Target. I tend to purchase the typical hygiene & cleaning items at Family Dollar locations, such as shaving cream, deodorant, hair grease, soap, mean green, bleach, etc. I have even purchased food items at Family Dollar locations which it carries the basics, but nowhere near as much as a Walmart. As for this location, it's convenient to me because I live right down the street from it. I can always find simple things to cook, plus the hygiene items that I lack which all are at affordable prices. However, what annoys me about this location are the panhandlers, plus the "blue square" (Newport Cigarette) sellers that are always in the parking lot which I do not even make eye contact with while heading in the store. This store is a huge plus for the East Garfield Neighborhood because there are so many things that the neighborhood lacks, but at least there is a Family Dollar in the neighborhood and from what I see it is relatively new. No complaints on my end, I'am always greeted once I enter and I always have been treated with respect as a customer, plus things are always organized when I shop here. Thomas G

However, the same issues still exist. They never have anything on the shelves....Never. Every time I come in, there are piles and piles of boxes in the aisle. I assume they are always in the process of stocking the shelves, but never really complete the task. Also, all the brands that I buy are behind the cash register. It's so annoying that I can't enjoy smelling the different scents of Dove soap. Family Dollar is great because it almost gives you the luxury of shopping in like a Target or Wal-Mart without having to leave your neighborhood. It also gives you that dollar store experience. Overall, it's great to have this store in a low income neighborhood, because it allows the neighbors to purchase items to clean their homes. However, it's hard shopping there sometimes.
