This is a brand new Costco and it is everything you have come to love about Costco and a little more. Same great customer service and a few upgrades like the kiosk where you can order food instead of having to wait in the long line. A Tire & Auto Center and a Gas Station. I didn't see liquor sales, but I must confess I was just trying to get in and out before the rush. This Costco is next to the Owings Millls AMC Theater, if you have to have some work done on your car, leave it and go see a movie. read more

My very first Costco experience... I picked today to visit due to it being on a Wednesday in hopes of the crowd staying home. Well it wasn't crowded but the line to obtain membership was rather long. I bypassed it and asked could I go in and take a look around. I was rather expressed instantly with the clothing/coat choices. I saw so many potential coats, sweatpants for my daughters. The sizes were plentiful and colors were vibrant. I didn't see too many of my favorite foods but I will blame it on not enough time to fully eyeball the warehouse. Second chances do exist The prepared meals did catch my eye. I saw everything from salmon to shrimp cocktail. The staff was super friendly and greeted you with an instant smile. The bakery section had plenty cakes to choose from along with beautiful apple pies. The store was very clean. Kudos! It should be being as though it opened a week ago! I will certainly be stopping by again- hopefully to join! They should have more staff available where memberships are purchased. read more

What a great place. Membership is $60. I was hesitant on getting a membership because I was not sure if I could $60 in a year. Well today completely changed my mind. Besides all my trips to Costco which is weekly, today I was about to take my vehicle to a competitor for a patch and plug, cost would have been $42. Costco was $10.99. Thats right, nail in my tire fixed for $11. $31 dollars saving, thats half the cost of my membership. I got to spending an hour walking around sampling all the wonder food and saved $31. Winner winner chicken dinner. I will be a Costco member for life now. read more

i don't know what they spray in the air, but this costco has the friendliest employees. i love how well stocked this location is and how easy i can run in an out, especially if i only need one thing. only complaint is that there's a few tire service employees who don't seem to value the customer. one time an employee was snarky when asked to helped get some air in tires but there's some employees who are helpful! read more

They only select black people on the line to verify their membership. If you want to enforce a rule then be sure to check everyone. Don't pick on a particular race and harass them when they come into your store. Nobody walks into Costco without a membership card and it's stupid to have the same last name and address as the primary account holder and then say I can't shop. They've got some kinks to work out. Nice staff overall, there were a few odd people working here... The way the store is laid out had me a little confused since it's a new design. For example not all coffee is together, It took me a while to find my canned since the Kurig cups are buy the kitchen appliances; they are trying to make sure you stock up on coffee cups when you buy a new machine. Another weird thing about this Costco is the regular pricing is completely different on several items than the Costco is Glen Burine and Columbia, Kombucha is $9.50 here and $15 in GB, the redbull cases are $36 here and $33.49 in GB. Not a huge deal just find it odd. The POS system needs to be fixed, everyone had issues making payments with their Costco card and the chip readers don't work. A manager had to override every payment after the cashier manually keyed it in. I do like the self ordering at the cafe, makes the lines move faster, now only if they can get their credit card readers to work.... read more

This one star is for the optical department only. I was being waited on trying on glasses. The associate walked away leaving me with designer frames and never bothered to come back. Instead she assisted another couple, very rude. The gentlemen that was working with her never even acknowledged my presence. Not sure what is wrong with either of them but this is the 2 Nd time so I'll purchase my glasses elsewhere. I just can't deal with poor service. read more

THIS REVIEW IS ONLY FOR THE AUTO SERVICE - My family and I have been a Costco member since it was Price Club. I've bought tires and batteries at various locations on that time. But I've never experienced a more rude, unhelpful auto technician!! My wife had a flat tire and we went to Costco to get a set of new tires. He seemed put out that we asked him about getting tires. He also claimed that we couldn't get an appointment for new tires for 9 days. That's complete bullshit and no way any tire business would be able stay in business if that was true. For a new store trying to lure me away from BJ's nearby, Costco at Owings Mills picked the one thing that made me change from Sam's Club to BJ's and poked me in the nose with it the first time I stepped into their store. What I'm talking about is their insistence that you buy a membership and show them your card just to walk in their front door. All I wanted to do was just look around the store and compare their selection and prices with those at BJ's, where I spend over $3,000 a year, or Sam's Club, where I spend about another $3,000 a year. The membership saleslady said she would have to get someone to supervise me to make sure I did not steal anything from their store, because I had not yet purchased a membership. After being told that they would have to assign an employee to walk with me around the store, and then listening to three employees on their radios say they were too busy to walk me around and I would have to get to it, I decided to leave. I called the assistant store manager as I drove over to BJ's nearby and she said she'd be happy for me to come back and she'd walk around and supervise me herself. I guess she thought it would have been nice to be hurried along by her as a manager, but I would rather she not listen to my wife and I discuss the pros and cons of buying another shopping club membership and which one would make the best place to shop next year. Oh, well. I think I'll just keep going to BJ's where they let anyone in the door without an ID card from their store. See y'all there. When I heard Costco was opening a store in Owings Mills I let my BJ's membership lapse, bought a Costco membership, and drove all the way to white marsh or Arundel Mills until the new store opened. I like Costco and go regularly which means I spend good money there. As an ex smoker I chew gum. I have a favorite gum/flavor and both stores that are half an hour away carry it. Very disappointed when the Owings Mills store opened and they did not carry it. Every flavor but the one I chew. Other than cashiers and people handing out samples, you can't find anyone to talk to about this. My option then was only to fill out a suggestion card, which I suspected, from the minute I dropped it into the box, would be worthless. It was. I continued to go to Costco and occasionally drive to another store for the gum and stock up but was frustrated each time. I mean I'm literally driving past BJ's to go to any of these Costco's. Recently I had to go in and was able to find a manager that said he'd see if he could help. He had everything I've ever purchased from Costco on his screen and could view by store as well. (Big brother anyone). He saw that I regularly purchased the gum in question and said he put in a request to start carrying it. Said, if approved, it would be on the shelf by my next visit. It wasn't. When a customer that spends like I do, requests that you carry a particular flavor of something you're already carrying multiple other flavors of, it doesn't seem like a big deal. What is a big deal is driving a half hour to go to one of their other stores that does carry my flavor, especially when I drive right past a BJ's that also carries it. I'm done with Costco. Went to the local Costco looking for a women's coats... Right in the center of the store, really close to the meat department and the women's closes shelves I felt overpowering smell of the weed killer and found the whole pile of the chemicals nearby... I spent my time to find the floor manager and talk to him about chemicals being so close to the meat and produce departments not in chemicals isle. His answer to my questions was "we always put it here"!??? Not even promise to look into the issue and resolve it... I understand, l'm a relatively older woman, I have an accent, but to be brushed aside without even thinking what to answer...! read more

I have been a Costco fan for several reasons but the main reason being their outstanding customer service. However, I am was very disappointed today with my visit to their optical center. The gentleman over at the optical counter was rude and unpleasant. He didn't even stand to acknowledge us. He just sat on his chair and looked at my pprescription. He just started trash talking about my doctors handwriting and kept saying no idea what it says.. and just threw out a number for the lense and went back to looking at his phone. The manager of this division should better train their staff. I hope this gets addressed and they do a better job next time. read more

Today being my day off I decided to take a trip to see the hype, the shopping center is still being developed and work in progress. The new Costco is very nice, I got there at 10am and I have been a member for 12 years. The line for new members was rather long . The store is big probably twice as big as Glen Burnie and 1.5 bigger than Arundle mills. Lots of stuff you don't see at those stores. The employees seemed polite and nice, but with every new store time will tell. I caught a few things priced more than other Costco clubs. read more

So my mother and I have a Costco account. Well a few months back I lost my card and so because my mom hasn't been feeling well I've just been using her card for the past four, I repeat, FOUR months! Well low and behold the cashier takes the card and examines it and I mean really examines it as if she was a cop in her past life. She proceeds to say this isn't you. I tell no it is not me but it is my mother but I am on the account. She then says to me well you need a card if you are on the account are you on the account. I tell her again yes I am but I lost my card and I haven't had to time to get a new one since I've been able to use her card. She then scoffs and yells for the manager. I ask her is that necessary since I've been coming here using the card without a problem. She says yes it is the verify it is you and it's protocol. I tell her no one else has given me this problem. She once again yells across the store for the manager. I become irritated at this point because now I'm being looked at as if I done something wrong. The manager comes and looks at the card and me then walks away. I'm standing there another person comes up the lady clears my belongs and checks him out. Oh and did I mention I only had TWO items to purchase. Literally had me waiting over 10 minutes for them to confirm that I was in fact a member for TWO items. I said under my breath that this is ridiculous. The cashier said I'm not trying to b difficult. I said no in fact you are no one else has given me this problem in months and you decided today to do this. The manager finally comes back with my mom's card as well as my membership number written on a piece of paper. I immediately hurry up my transaction. I understand protocol don't get me wrong but if it's only for a couple items and I don't see the problem she took her job way to seriously like ma'am please go on break. Wendy Teie, the audiologist in the Hearing Aids center is WONDERFUL! She has complete integrity, is very knowledgeable and really nice! For years I had worn a $3500 hearing aid. When I went to Wendy, she looked in my ear and said that I needed to get the impacted wax cleaned out of my ear before she could test me. I did, and when I went back, she tested me and told me that my hearing was fine, and indeed I am hearing well now. I will never go to anyone else again! read more

Previously I was a member of Costco for well over 20 years. I have recently moved from the DC area to Wesminster area. I had dropped my membership because the Costco facilities were too far away. I was delighted to learn there is now a Costco within a few miles. I have rejoined, visit the store regularly, and I am once again "in heaven"!! They offer great deals on everything from clothing to to electronics to food and so much more! Their fresh meats ARE fresh and of great quality. I have truly missed shopping there. read more

Brand new Costco in the Baltimore area. Customer service was more pleasant than expected. Being a Wednesday, it was quiet but still a long line at the quasi membership area located where the shopping carts would eventually be. Ended up not opening a new membership due to the wait. Was told there would be freebies of misc coupons. It didn't seem worth the wait so we entered with our old membership card and strolled around. Not much different than any other Costco, but much less commotion. I'm sure business will pick up after a couple months. Everything was clean and tidy as a grand opening store should be. The food court service was quick and friendly. This location is a tad closer to home, but being a creature of habit, I may continue visiting the Columbia location for now and would only come back out of convenience. This area of Owings Mills has been building up in recent years, this being a prime location. We'll see what the future holds. read more
