Parking lot was busy but with the high traffic it wasn't that difficult to get a parking spot. The parking lot was quite large and was a bit confusing to leave out of especially for a first visit at night. Inside was like all other Costcos. I will say that this Costco was more on the spacious side. Possibly due to it being in the city. Everything was organized and clean. It was a pleasant trip. And for how packed the parking lot was, the inside wasn't bad at all. This was also my first Costco with a car wash outside. update: bumping + a star after returning here a few times! positives: huge shoutout to shy, the membership supervisor! got absolutely excellent help from her several times and felt like my membership problems (canceling a korean membership and beginning an american membership) was handled really thoroughly. in fact all the membership services staff and food court staff were very kind, definitely 5 star service there :) i think the like for food can get insane long but because they use a present receipt and get your food instead of a wait for your ticket to be called system, you don't have problems with your order ticket getting lost, which has happened to me at the kirkland location, and the line moves reasonably fast! negatives: the traffic can be quite, quite bad and i think the exit door staff could be a bit kinder, i tried to access the membership services desk via the exit and they kind of rudely directed me to the entrance despite the desk being all the way around the store by the exit, maybe this is a space planning shortcoming and a hectic time for the staff, but i didn't appreciate the tone, regardless. read more

I go in for one or two things and somehow leave with enough supplies to survive a dang apocalypse, but honestly, that's part of the charm. No regrets here. The prices are great, the products are solid, and there is something deeply satisfying about knowing you can get paper towels, rotisserie chicken, vitamins, and a damn freshly cooked hot dog all in one trip. What keeps Costco in the elite tier for me though is that they just know what they're doing. The stores are always busy, always chaotic, and yet it still works. The staff are usually very friendly, efficient, and keep things moving even when the place is absolutely packed. Two places are in their own category if you ask me: Trader Joe's and Costco. I swung by the Costco on 4th Ave because I was seriously craving Lumpia Shanghai--the Filipino take on egg rolls stuffed with meat. Not every Costco carries them, so this spot is a gem. Fun fact: this is actually the very first Costco warehouse in the world, the one where it all began. Parking was packed and the store was buzzing. The line looked intimidating but moved pretty quickly. Mental note: avoid weekends here if possible. Still, I walked out happy with two packs of those egg rolls in hand. read more

Hey, it's Costco -- that alone earns it 4 stars from me. As our pastor once joked, Costco is basically God's gift to shoppers. The reasonable prices, the gas, the convenience, and of course the legendary $1.50 hot dog and the $4.99 rotisserie chicken are always the big draws. I'd bump it up to 4.5 stars if I could, but definitely not a full 5 because the parking lot layout can be a mess, especially during busy times. I still remember coming here before the renovation, when the inside looked more like a Pier 1 Imports. Since this is the original Costco -- ground zero for all the others -- it's still fun to visit from a historical standpoint. We don't come here often since we're on the Eastside and usually go to the Issaquah or Redmond locations, but if we're in south Seattle, it's worth the stop. read more

I completely love Costco on multiple levels and have for literally decades. Costco is great as a consumer. It has also been amazing as a shareholder. I tend to invest in companies that I have direct experience with and Costco has paid off in more ways than one for sure. I also value a company that promotes from within. The new CEO literally started at Costco as a teenager driving a forklift. Talk about walking the walk! As a car enthusiast - great prices on Top Tier gas is a real bonus. Top Tier gasoline is gas that has met the standards for detergent additives that have been proven to keep your engine cleaner. An excellent pharmacy, some fun discoveries like top shelf booze and of course the famous $1.50 hot dog and soda + $4.99 rotisserie chicken and wine buyers that we trust completely to make good choices. Every once in a while you'll find something completely unexpected that just offers pure delight. This week while on the way to grabbing some tp I spotted some Food Court themed dog toys. Picked up a set and our little pup was super happy. :D I also love the new Executive member hours. It's nice to be able to get in and get out in a reasonable amount of time. When you consider that one of the things you simply cannot buy is time - spending a bit more for the Executive membership saves me hours every year. I consider the time I have remaining on this planet as being extremely valuable and limited. That makes the upgrade decision a no brainer. I'm such a Costco fanboy that we even visited a Costco in Tokyo. That was super cool. Obviously some local fare / items that you'd never see here. Costco is a big box store with a typical where house layout. It's good to know the best times to go when you just want to see Costco. They have a staff that is good and responsive. Sometimes it can be a little difficult to find staff, but they remain helpful. Their rotisserie chicken is said to be legendary and the chicken is at a good price. Often you can get the chicken as it is coming out of the roaster. Eager to taste, I quickly grabbed one and rushed home to have dinner. So here are some unspoken rules of roasting, baking, and grilling chicken: NO PINK MEAT. This means the chicken is not fully cooked. Also, if you are cooking a chicken in a Rotisserie, the skin should be crispy or near crispy and not slippery as it is in a stew Or soup. Lastly. Seasoning. The entire chicken was devoid of seasoning resulting in a bland, begging for flavor chicken with slippery skin. I decided to add salt, pepper and other seasonings to make a hot chicken sandwich. Costco can benefit from having a plane and seasoned chicken. The slippery skin and pink flesh is a deal breaker and should remain in the oven for another 20-30 minutes; this would also allow the skin to get crispy. For me, this chicken is a deal breaker, but I have been a member for over 20 years. read more

When I went to file my taxes, it turned out Marvin had quietly discontinued their participation in the program; in part due to most of their windows not qualifying for the program. I was closest to the hearing aid center, and they empathetically directed me to Josh and Ty. And man they jumped into action immediately! Josh was calm, kind, and reassuring, and even offered me his phone so I could call my fiancé to give him a heads up. Josh then sent Ty to check the area near the baking soda where I thought I may have left it -- and before I could even make my call via Josh Cellular, Ty was already back with my phone! Honestly, my favorite costco in the city. The layout is predictable, organized, and less chaotic than other locations. Because of the new tariffs, it's much easier to do our groceries here. Bulk items are worth the purchase: eggs, salad mixes, new york strip, family size deli soups/wraps, toliet paper, paper towels, wine, korean skincare, probiotic, etc. Expect to spend $900 there, but hey, you'll have groceries and personal care products that will last you for a two weeks-month. Costco is fantastic, truly a 5 star operation. However this location's parking is an unmitigated disaster. There isn't enough separation between the warehouse parking and the fuel pumps like there is at Southcenter or even Lynwood. Today trying to leave there were cars lined up on the wrong side of the yellow line on the main road through the parking lot. There needs to be some far better traffic control implemented to make things manageable. If you're going during peak hours like right after work or on the weekend, the 20 extra minutes to get to the Southcenter location will probably save you at least that much time in parking. read more

It's a Costco and it's a busy one! There is a gas station and a car wash associated with this location. I had to circle and circle and circle for at least 10 minutes to find a parking spot. Then once inside there were soooo many people ...made it challenging to maneuver through. In terms of stock...there shelves were plentiful. The staff are friendly and efficient. This Costco location is one of the original stores in the area. The parking lot layout is long and skinny. A car would not be circling for a parking spot but drive farther and farther away instead. Just be aware if walking is an issue. We arrived during the newly extended hour on Saturday - 6pm. They now close at 7pm. We easily scored a very near parking spot. To my surprise, the inside was still fairly crowded. They have all the usual offerings with tires, eyeglasses departments, etc. One uncommon trait is they have T-Mobile instead of AT&T kiosk. As usual, we shopped on our own and did self-checkout. Not much direct service was needed. This location is fine, and not one I would purposely go to unless I was in the area and needed something. It does seem to be more crowded than others. Being the main Seattle store, I was hoping to find more East Asian offerings but found only one uncommon item - crab flavor rice puffs. read more

Always been and always will be a huge fan of shopping at Costco! This location has delicious strawberry ice cream in their food court! Love that they also have a gas station to fill up. Parking usually isn't too hard to find and they also have a tire center here which is handy for car things. This Costco has all the essentials and a nice variety of local items. This is our go-to Costco when we have a chance to come out here on the weekends. For one, I think the parking is better than some of the other Costco warehouses, with the gas being on the opposite side of the warehouse, makes traffic less congested, with a better flow. I do really love Costco, but not all Costcos are created equally. This Costco, though convenient for those living in Seattle, it's not my preferred location because it gets quite crowded and it's not very large. They often don't have as many fun, new products as I see that other locations. One upside of this location is that they do a car wash for seven dollars. That's pretty unbeatable, and very convenient when it comes to getting your errands and car stuff done in the same place. If you want to optimize for samples, come during lunchtime! The customer service is great usually here. Only one time I've had a bad experience and that was with a supervisor named Rachel on 3/20/25. My card wasn't reading and giving an error and she was very dismissive when I asked if I could try another machine. She took my Visa card and went to a computer to look up info on my card for a few mins and said I need to go to the actual register and not a self checkout. I was a bit frustrated because she kept saying it wouldn't work. Lo and behold I tried another self checkout machine and was able to ring up my items. By this time, Rachel had disappeared and I talked to the attendants at the self checkout, they were very apologetic and kind. I'm not sure why Rachel's a supervisor but she seems like one of those people at the workplace that's only nice to people above their level. Somehow we found parking near the car wash. Inside they sell lots of plants and camping gear. They have open area in the rotisserie chickens and lots of samples. The line to pay was short. Yesterday I bought a few things at the 4th Ave Seattle Costco. When I got home I realized they had charged me twice for one item. I called corporate this morning and spent 30 minutes on menu selection and hold and finally got to talk to someone. I explained the whole thing to him and he said I would need to call the 4th Ave Costco, I did that and spent another 30 minutes working through a very user unfriendly menu and finally got a human who told me that I needed to come in to get a refund. I said why? You have the info in my account and I would be happy to send you a photo of the receipt. They refused. So I wasted another hour driving to the Costco, standing in line and explaining the issue for a 3rd time. So Costco wasted 2 hours of my day so I could get the $20 overcharge refunded. I guess I know the game, if they waste enough of your time you will just give up. It is real easy to buy things (just a click) but really hard to rectify things when they screw up. Costco is wonderful! I've been coming to this location once a week for about five years. Even though there are only two people in my household, it definitely seems like there are enough bargains here to make it worthwhile. First of all, they have a very generous return policy, so I always feel safe buying things here. The electronics department is pretty good and they have a large selection of TVs, computers, and cameras on display. They also have some Apple products including MacBooks and iPads. I really like their fresh produce section. I usually buy a huge carton of strawberries or blueberries for a small fraction of what it would cost me at a regular grocery store. Most things like apples and bananas are also sold in quantities that are reasonable for two people to consume. Of course, we also buy plenty of frozen, canned, and dry goods there too. Most items come in a large package, but each serving is wrapped separately, so you don't have to eat it all at once. Costco has a wide variety of products, but they do change them frequently. If you see something you really like, you better buy it, because it could be gone the next weekend! If there is a product that you really like, you can fill out a comment card because someone does read those. There is even a little book near the exit where you can read some of Costco's responses. Costco employees are really nice too. You can ask anyone a question and they are willing to help. I noticed that a lot of employees have worked there for a really long time, which is usually a good sign. Actually, whenever we go to check out, we look for our favorite checker, Demont. He is super friendly and we enjoy talking to him every week. I highly recommend joining Costco if you are not a member already! read more

This is my go to Costco location. What do you expect from a Costco? Packed parking lots as usual but if you go early enough, you'll find spots. I never had an issue because you can either find a spot right away or if you wait a few minutes, people are leaving so you can grab theirs. Busy parking lot comes with the territory. Refunds are quick even when the lines are long. Never had an issue with refunds. Food court is full but goes quickly. I really really wish they brought back real soda though.....the whole Seattle sugar tax really puts a damper on my soda drinking at Costco. When I get the hot dog, it comes with a drink but I just fill it with water. oh wellz. I like this location a lot because there's a gas station attached to it with cheap prices so I can get my gas and my shopping done. Plus, the tire center is great as well. I recommend it! read more
