Very disappointing experience with the Costco Tire Center, and I will not be returning. First, the entire process is extremely inefficient. I had to come once just to order the tires, then a second time for installation, which was rescheduled and delayed by a week, even though tire bays appeared to be empty. This shows either a staffing issue or a complete lack of care. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Even with a scheduled 12:00 PM appointment, my vehicle was not taken in until around 3:00 PM. Appointments clearly mean nothing here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I also learned that in order to maintain the tire warranty, Costco requires tire rotations every 7,500 miles. I drive a lot and accumulate mileage quickly. With Costco's system, this means booking appointments days or weeks in advance and wasting several hours each time just for a basic rotation. This is completely unrealistic for customers who actually use their vehicles. On top of that, the staff refused to replace the TPMS sensors during tire installation. This forced me to go to another service center, pay additional money, have the tires removed again, and waste even more time. The tire pressure was set incorrectly. My vehicle requires 33 PSI, yet only one tire was inflated correctly, while the others were underinflated with inconsistent pressure readings. It is unclear why such a basic task was not done properly, but this is unacceptable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Staff behavior was rude and unprofessional, and there was no sense of accountability at any point.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Costco is a massive corporation, but the Tire Center operates like a system where the customer's time does not matter.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] At this point, it is far easier to buy tires elsewhere and have them installed, balanced, rotated, and have TPMS sensors replaced in a single visit at a shop that actually values its customers. Scheduled a 5:30p appointment to plug a tire due to nail. Showed up 15 mins early. It's now 7:15p and car still isn't done. In fact, I checked at 6:45p and my vehicle wasn't even in the shop yet. What's the point of having an appointment?! To top it off, you figured being a member would grant your free tire plug/repair. Nope! If you didn't purchase your tires here, they charge you $11. I bought 4 tires with installation for our family vehicle Costco Tire in Concord. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When the tires were on hand I made an appointment for installation. I chose a morning appointment because we planned to travel that afternoon. While the appointment was recognized it seemed to make little or no difference. It took over an hour before they brought my car into the bay to begin work, then another 90 minutes before if was ready. I really hate appointments that are meaningless[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The man behind the desk said they were understaffed and that I should complain to management. This is my complaint to management[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. While on the highway somedays later the tire pressure warning light comes on. I stop to inspect and see the front left tire looks low. I exited the highway, found a station with a working air pump and attempted to inflate the tire. Over 18 psi the air leaked out as fast as the pump could put it in. After changing the tire for the doughnut spare and driving to my destination I took the flat to Les Schwab for repair. They reported that the tire and valve were fine, apparently when the tire was mounted on the rim the rim was not cleaned of dirt and other contaminants leading the tire sealant to fail when pressure increased due to highway friction/heat. They fixed it quickly, did not charge and did not keep me waiting. Kudos to Les Schwab, shame on Costco Tire. read more

Horrible customer service and the worst wait times I have ever experienced in my life! Bought 2 tires and was told they had to be special ordered. The guy was real snootie when telling me how the whole tire business is now based on individual orders, not inventory. Oh well, whatever. Was told we'd get a call and a chance to make an appointment. Or we could do a walk in and get it done that way. I had someone else drop off the car around 10 am and they were told they were the last walk in for the day and they wouldn't accept any more. When I came back and checked in around 3 pm, I was told it hasn't even been up on the rack yet and that it would probably be the last of the day. I understand the appointments need to be taken care of first, but if you only have so many appointments and cut off walk ins at 10 am, then how many more cars can be ahead of you?? I didn't wake up today thinking I'd spend most of my entire afternoon and evening at Costco waiting for two (2) tires to be put on. I don't care how much cheaper tires are here, for my sanity and quality of life, and for fear of losing an entire day, I'll go anywhere... literally ANYWHERE else before I go to Costco for tires ever again. read more

They replaced all the sensor on each tire ($275) and car sensor is still on. It is a Subaru Forester and each time I have had to wait over an hour. Costco is good, just always very busy and they don't give a personal touch....such as talking to you. They just want to get your car in, get it done, and get it out. I purchased tires and Costco gave a warranty. They told me the tires were warranted for 70,000 mile along as we had our tires rotated regularly. We religiously had our tires rotated as recommended. I hit a hole in the road and it damaged my tire, we were told that Costco would prorate the tire. These tires had only 31,000 miles on them. When I purchased a new tire they informed me that I needed new tires all around and I would get nothing for the damaged tires. (including all the tires that needed replacing.) I asked why and the manager Jason Leslie informed us that the tires were worn unevenly and therefore the warranty was negated. Who drives on roads that are smooth so the tires are worn smoothly. I had been taking my car to Costco to rotate the tires, and nothing was ever said at any point. I am very dissappointed in the service. read more

I would recommend going to a real tire center for your tires. I purchased my tires and made an 'appointment' as required. I showed up in time for my appointment a week later and they STILL made me wait like I was a walk in. I left with my tires and one had lost 15psi by the time I got home. The next day I took my vehicle back to have the one tire looked at. They put me on a waiting list like I was a walk-in AGAIN. I waited another 2 hrs for them to get around to looking at my tire. We are going on a road trip and we need new tires, pronto! I ordered 4 new tires in person because that's much faster than ordering it online. Tires showed up the very next day but I didn't have an appointment. It was around 4pm on a Friday. Adam said, come on in. There's no line now and if you can get here right away, we can put on the tires today. It took less than an hour. I totally lucked out with the timing but the guys here work fast. No! No! No! One of the Worst experience ever I have with Costco tire center. Tech told me my one tire is non repairable and replacement is needed. He said should be done in an hour and will call me when ready! I came back in 2 hours, no one called me. The tech just gave me a random wheel at the shop. That didn't belong to me. Then he said my tire needed to be order and will arrive by 2pm and he will call me. I headed back to Costco by 4pm still no one called me, after waiting in line for 20 mins, the same tech from this morning told me truck didn't come today. He said he will call me when tire get here next week. Half a day wasted and nothing was done to my one wheel. Then Next week, NO one call again! I called about 6 times and be placed on hold for 2 times for over 20 mins. Finally I was able to talk to someone and confirmed tire arrived. I was able to get my one tire replaced after wasting so many hours and going back and forth. It would be nice if they will keep their promises to call me when they don't have my tire and call me again when the tire arrived. read more

Great value . $11 to fix a flat that americas tire across the street said it had to be replaced and refused to fix. The only issue with Costco tire is if you do not have an appointment like I didn't, then count on leaving the car with them all day. I dropped off at 9am and was ready at 7pm. Never again! I've always had my tires done at Costco but this place is awful. After having an appointment last week, I waited 2 hours to be told my tires couldn't be balanced and I needed new ones. Fine. Could they do them then? Of course not. A week later, I go back for my new appointment. I was 10 minutes late due to traffic and called to tell them. When I got there, they had given my time away. Another 2 hour wait. Thinking that any time I needed these tires serviced, rotated, balanced, or replaced I would have to go through this chaos, I cancelled my order (another 25 minutes in line) and went to Les Schwab, where they got me in and out in an hour, had a nice quiet waiting room with free popcorn and coffee, courteous staff, AND I saved money! I've never had any issues with them, and with a membership, this is really good value. Last month, I was leaving home to see my barber for a haircut, and I noticed my check engine light was on. I didn't think much of it, since there had been a drop in the temperature, and tire pressure drops aren't unusual with changing temperatures. The recommended tire pressure on the side of my doors says 33. At first I went to Firestone near Sunvalley Mall, and the guys there pumped me up to 33 on the nose. When I backed out, the light was on, but I didn't think it was a problem, since of course a little bit of movement needs to happen before the car's tire light goes off. When I got to my barbershop in Walnut Creek, the light still hadn't turned off. I thought my car was still registering the new tire pressure, and thought it wouldn't be a problem. Once I left my barbershop, the light was still on, and when I got closer to home, I decided to drive over to Costco. I admittedly didn't know how to use the air pump, so the guys at Costco were really good about teaching and helping me. I don't remember which guy helped, but he told me to adjust the pump to 37 PSI for my tires. I asked why, and he explained that because I had been driving my car for a bit, the air in my tires were hotter, and when they cooled down once I got home and wouldn't drive, it would help keep my tires within my recommended PSI. As soon as I put the air in my tires and started to leave the Costco parking lot to get onto Monument Blvd., the tire light went off and I was able to get home without worrying about my tires. The knowledgeable staff and their friendliness when I've had tires blow out on me and whenever something else happened to my car makes coming here worth it all the time. read more

Ordered 4x tires for my 2016 Jetta. Shipping to the warehouse took a bit longer than expected but whatever. I showed up for my 4:15 PM appointment and they appeared to handle my intake appropriately, telling me that I should expect anywhere between an hour to an hour and a half. That sounded reasonable. Come 6:09 and I still haven't gotten a single call on my cell to tell me my car's ready. I get back in line to ask if my car's ready and the guy looks absolutely shocked. He pulls my keys and the receipt from the drawer and tells me he had no idea why I didn't get a call. I look at the receipt and my car had been ready since 4:46!! The guy sheepishly claimed it could have been a "misdial" and apologized. My phone number was correctly written on the receipt, clear as day. I don't understand how someone can be qualified to install car tires but not know how to dial a phone number on time. Maybe I should have pressed them for a store credit or rebate on my original purchase but even then there's no excuse for wasting an hour of a customers' time for no good reason. Appointments are not honored, they make you wait in line with folks that just show up even if you tell them you have an appointment. With an appointment I still waited 45min before they even took my keys. Plus they charged me for work that was not performed. I bought two new tires (due to a flat in the rear) and ask for the new tires to be rotated onto the front. There was no possibility of confusion. They charged me for tire rotation and just put the new tires on the back, which I didn't notice until after I had left. I could go back and demand they do the work they charged me for, but see complaint number 1 above. read more

Never will I come here again for tires. We decided to buy our tires and book an appointment to have them switch them out 1 week in advance. On the day of, I come in and there is no appointment line and the line was super long. They were making announcements if anyone was picking up their car. I said I had an appointment...and they told me I would have to wait in the same line. I waited patiently for 50 minutes past my appointment! The fact that I already bought my tires online and had a specific appointment time that was not granted priority over others with no appointment was insane. At one time, I even heard the employee mention to a customer to buy tires and appointments online!... Like really? When I arrived to the register, I asked the employee why they didn't have a line for appointments or called for them during the whole time I was there? He just told me they usually do, but didn't do it that day?! I'm pretty sure that's not true. He told me that regardless how long I waited in the line that I still get bumped to the head of the line for getting my tires changed first. This, however, doesn't matter because I still had to wait an additional 45 minutes for my car to be done after getting to the head of the line, which should have started at my appointment time. Horrible customer service not answering phones keep hold on for hours and they don't mind it. My tires supposed to be there on Monday but I don't get any phone call at All and I called them on Wednesday it took my almost one hour and they said that they had a long call list anyway they already had my tire for installation. So my wife took it there at there around 5.30 pm and I went there at 8 pm and they said they haven't started yet and it will be ready 8.30 pm or pick it up tomorrow they don't give ...... Costco is good place for shopping but tire center employees are really ignorant workers.
