Quick and reliable service. First time at this shop. I usually go to the Beltsville location. I brought my dad's vehicle for TPMS sensor replacement. The price was great compared to the dealership. Isn't that usually the case?! Made an appointment online, which I highly recommend. They don't really seem to take walk-ins. The wait for the work to be done was about an hour and a half. Something up here... I had a great experience buying tires here a year ago. Now they are understaffed and have long wait times and are unable to serve customers. I had a nail in my tire, came in and they told me they couldn't schedule me for 2 days. I scheduled an appointment and came back 2 days later. They told me 1.5hrs. It took almost 3. Three weeks later the TPM sensor came on. I went back and they said they couldn't look at it until the next day. Said I could leave the car for the day but couldn't guarantee they'd get to it. I made an appointment in the evening the next day. They called me and said I could bring in the car early, so I showed up 2 hours early. Once I got there, I Was told 1.5hrs for the work to be completed. I waited 2.5hrs and they then said "oh, it's just up on the lift now." Ten minutes later I asked if they'd started it and they said "it's on the lift and will be 30 more minutes." I told them to take it off the lift and I would take it elsewhere. He handed me the keys. They had never actually moved my car! Unfortunately, I no longer recommend this Costco tire place if you need a same day service or don't want to wait long hours with unsatisfactory service. read more

They replaced tires for good cost but had no idea how to reset my sensors so tire light wouldn't go off. Technician added pressure to tire above recommended pressure (not safe) and I ended up taking car to the dealership to fix the issues, thereby negating any cost savings. read more

Horrible. Made an appointment, they told me they only have 1 mechanic and won't be able to make it to my car because he has an emergency and must leave. Fine, I reschedule. The second time I waited for an hour only to be told that I will have to wait 2 and half more hours. This time they had some other emergency, and the schedule got pushed. I said ok, I'll be back in 2 and a half hours, but wait, I can't do that because I'll lose my spot. How am I losing my spot when I HAD AN APPOINTMENT!!!!! read more

Adding more emphasis and kudos to these folks. Had a tire that suddenly would not hold air. Got there Sunday morning around 745 just a short time before they open. Stood in line. Nice guy who got there just before me kindly let me go first. They found a nail, plugged AND patched it (very important and fantastic that they go this extra route without my asking), and I was in and out in 24 minutes. At no charge since this is covered by their road hazard warranty. Great service as always. I'll say again: Get there 15-30 minutes before they open, wait the short time and get in ahead of the rush. It is well worth the effort and getting up a bit early to do so. read more

Today I came in to have my tires rotated and rebalanced. I did a walk in at 10 when they opened. You can schedule an appt. I had told the front desk rep that I had low air pressure twice recently in my front right tire and asked them to check it. I asked him how long it would take and he said approx 1 hr 15 mins. So while I was waiting I walked around Costco to kill time. I got a call from the rep that my car was ready and it wasn't quite an hour. I was a happy camper. The rep told me that I had a nail in my tire and they were able to patch it. (i think he said put a plug in it). I love Costco tires because repairs such as these are included in the warranty. They could have easily lied and said I needed to replace my tire. Given the early check out time and my repaired tire I was very pleased with this visit and would highly recommend this location. read more

I really dislike writing bad reviews for a business, but my experience with this tire center today had me frustrated. My husband and I had booked appointments a couple weeks ago for both of our vehicles to have tire rotations. We arrived half an hour early for the first appointment and found out that despite having planned ahead and made appointments as they had suggested doing to avoid a wait, we still had to wait in line to check in for our appointments. I don't have an issue with waiting in line, but when I had to stand in line for 50 minutes to check our cars in for our appointments, it was extremely frustrating. I had erroneously thought that booking appointments would have minimized the wait time. When we returned to pick up our cars, we again had to wait 15-20 minutes to be helped. I had asked the lady who called to let us know the cars were ready whether we would need to stand in line or if we could simply walk in and pick up the keys, having already paid for the services. She assured me we would be able to walk in and pick up the keys. When we finally received the keys, one of the keys was the incorrect key and when I returned to let the service desk know, they did not believe me at first. Only after I asked to please try the only other key in their pile of finished vehicle keys did they allow me to see if that would unlock our car. lol and behold it did! Needless to say my husband and I will be looking elsewhere for our routine car service needs. read more

You go here on weekday they tell you they are booked and it will take hours. They tell you to come first thing in morning and it will be quick. You come here 7:00 am and there is not enough staff to support the customers. And the staff that is here looks like just got out of bed and still trying to shake the sleep off. All the savings are not worth of anyone's time that you have to spend just waiting. Since I bought my tires online I'll get it installed here this last time. Don't bother making an appointment, they don't honor them. They take walk-ins as first come first serve over appointments. Still waited nearly 2 1/2 hrs with an appointment and there's nowhere for you to wait but sit in the cold with the carts. Never again. read more

Nothing spectacular, just A-OK service. I came in with a single tire that had a nail in it. They said their technicians would check for repair, but when I told them where the nail was they decided they couldn't repair it and I'd need a new tire. So, it sucked that a single nail ended up being so expensive as I bought two new tires. On the other hand, they told me it would be 2 hours (which wasn't bad, given they'd been open for a couple of hours)... and yet I was done in less than 90 minutes. So, that speedy response made my day (and let me enjoy the rest of it). I'll probably go to them again as prices are reasonable, service is fine, and they're not like the archaic NTB in town. read more

Talking about disrespectful and no customer service skills. I went to Costco Elkridge today to get my tires inflated because you know, I bought the tires at Costco. In the past, I've used this Costco and several other Costco's for tire inflations with the technician actually doing it for me because I do not know how to use their equipments. Today, there was this one African American technician, who literally said "we have a green hose in the back and you can do it yourself." The tone was very condescending and rude---- man, talking about ungratefulness of having a job. I did not want to go down that level and just drove away. I work in a service oriented industry and we just simply don't treat our customers just like that, if there was a change in process, the staff should have informed me nicely and taught what to do with their equipments. read more

The staff is pretty unorganized here. In particular there's a short Caucasian woman staff member who does not know how to speak to human beings. You were talking down to a grown lady who asked a simple and legit question. Learn how to speak to human beings if you want to work in a place where there is human interaction. By far the most inefficient check-in counter in the business. Third tire installation appointment in four weeks for the third vehicle. Each time it's an extraordinary wait in line (45 minute average) because you're in with customers ordering tires, returning/buying batteries, and drop offs. As each customer engages with the front desk employee they have to walk back and forth to the rear of the shop to speak with the install bay or bring paperwork back. None of this is on the employees. They've all been cordial, knowledgeable, and helpful. It's simply mismanaged and the front desk procedures are poorly designed. Third time is my last time. I should've learned the first two but that's my fault. read more

They will make you wait even if your car is ready and when you go and check they will lie again that your car is just done, even though it was ready an hour ago. While we value our Costco membership for groceries, the Tire Center is another experience all together. HORRIBLE customer service. Scheduling your appointment online doesn't mean anything - prepare to wait for hours for simple service. For something like a car battery, where you can go, pick up, and leave - their prices are good. For tires, you can find better deals elsewhere, and more importantly, less headaches in getting your tires installed. They ship the tires from Costco.com orders to the store - but you don't get any feedback. They literally NEVER answer their phone for the tire center - NEVER. Horrible customer service. read more

It took them a while to find my tires that had just been delivered a couple days ago. Guess they don't put your name on them even though you pay in advance. It then took them 2 hours to install them. Not sure why people are hating on this place. It's Costco folks! Customer service has AND is the best at Costco hands down / bar none. Came here to get a tire repaired first thing in the morning (got there 45mins early). This location is hopping so best to get their early and secure a spot if you want to stay ahead of the crowd. Most other people seem to roll up around 15mins early. My tired was repaired in less than 30 mins and the staff put the tire back in its place. I've NEVER had a bad experience with Costco and if you show up thinking you can push them around guess again. They have a job to do and they're very clear on what they will and will not do. Warranty is great and the staff are always helpful. I've been disuaded by non-dealership repair centers to come to Costco for a number of reasons that all seem minor. Most companies hate Costco b/c Costco is freaking awesome. This spot along with three other Costco's I've been to in the region all have solid service reputations. read more

There service is a total joke. One time they pushed the lug nut into the brake canopy in the car had to be towed. You get there at five after eight when they open and there's six people in front of you and to do a tire balance and rotation they had no idea how long because they only had one mechanic in the back. Third time to show up for service matt in the front who could care less about customer service had no idea how many mechanics showed up today. Do NOT go here for tire repairs. They told me over the phone that they fix leaking tires but it would cost $12 per tire only to find out my tires were leaking next to the rim. They also don't use sealant on tires to fix those kinds of leaks...this was never explained to me before getting the service. They refused to refund me the $45.00 just to find out that they can't fix the problem. The staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. They should have explained more beforehand because had I known they don't fix ALL tire issues I would have not taken my car here. read more

I wish we wouldn't have chosen Costco Tire Service. They never have enough people working here and you often have to 30 minutes just to talk to someone at the front desk. When you have a problem with the tire you can't make an appointment because their appointments are 2 weeks out. Horrible service!!! No one answers the phone, EVER! Had to call an inside manager who said he would hand deliver my number to them and have them call me, that NEVER happened! Called everyday for 3 straight days at various times and no one ever picked up the phone to help me. Decided to drive over and with 1 person working the counter and 9 people in line I said screw this, not worth it no matter what the price may have been. Will deal with a local tire shop that I can actually talk to a human! What the he'll would you do if you had an issue, more waiting, no responses, have to actually drive there????
