Great shop!!! I've been driving by here for years and never even knew they existed. Our car needed an alignment. Several friends/locals suggested Albright; not many places do alignments nowadays, or so I found out. I made an appointment, which was just a few days out. I appeared at just the right time and they took my car in immediately. They said it'd be about an hour, so I sat in their huge luxurious waiting area (kidding, but there is plenty of room compared to most other small businesses). (Tip - Bring something to read to kill the time.) Less than an hour later I was done. They gave me the paperwork and explained everything on it -- numbers both before and after the alignment. Our alignment cost about $83 or so for a smaller car. Per some buddies that's a pretty good deal. I am happy to say that forever more when we need work like this I have a great go-to place. read more

We came here twice. The first time was to repair my new tire that had a nail puncture. They were very flexible and allowed me to drop by on short notice and patched it up for me. We came back again to get oil change and new tires that not many places carry. They had some in stock and was able to do all that in 1.5 - 2 hours. They have couches, water, and vending machine available if you choose to wait for your car. Restroom is available. Very clean waiting area, which is always a plus. One of the downsides is that they don't have wifi so you will just have to use data if you are playing on your phone. They seem like very honest people, not trying to oversell. They looked at my tires and was going to recommend that I didn't need to change them until they realized what year they were. For safety sake, we decided to get new ones. The oil change fee was also very reasonable. It's a bit out of the way for us, but we've been looking for a new auto shop that is honest with reasonable fees, and I think we found one here! The only inconvenience is they don't do oil change over the weekend, which makes planning a bit difficult. Larry was the one who helped us out and he was awesome! read more

The man who greeted me at the counter had such a disgusting attitude for absolutely no reason. I came in after my AC was still not working after they "fixed it", and they tried to upcharge me to fix something that they should have already fixed. Also, the customer service lady answered the phone when I called back to get a refund, pretending not to hear me saying hello, saying "hElLoOoo" with a mocking tone. Please do not come here if you: 1. Actually want your car fixed 2. Don't want to be treated like garbage for choosing their business to fix your car (BIG mistake in retrospect). My husband initially took his truck to have oil pressure sensor replaced. The mechanic later informed him of over issues with the truck. After going someplace else for a 2nd opinion, 2/3 of what was recommended is all that is needed. My family has been going to this mechanic since I was in middle school (I am in my 40s now). This business has changed alot. The son has taken over and changed the name from Commercial Tire. I don't know if I would return because I don't have time to be constantly getting 2nd and 3rd opinions on their recommendations. read more

I heard about Albright from my co-worker Mike Hennessie 2 years ago and have been a repeat customer ever since. I've lived in 2 states and don't have many connections with a great auto repair shop. My Volvo is precious to me and they've gotten me out of a few pinches without feeling like I'm being overcharged. I had noticed my car sounding loud when I brought my car in for an alternator replacement and they found a wheel bearing issue. Their diagnostics are trustworthy and it been really good connection in Maryland. My car isn't the easiest to work with, but I'd drive it further to have Albright diagnose and repair. My struts and tires have also been in really good condition since they replaced them over a year ago. They can handle older car models really well and give good recommendations for part prices and what's most necessary. If you're looking for a shop with a lot of experience, they've got it and they're humble about it. Car issues stress me out but they make it seem like an easy correction. Needed a tire that not everyone carries. They had it in stock and said if I got there soon they could mount it that day. The price they quoted on the phone was the price I paid. (Well, plus sales tax.) No extra mounting, balancing, or disposal fees. They got it done in a few hours, put my spare, jack, etc. back nice and neatly, and were friendly in the process. read more

Albright Service Center & Performance - My GSR new tires - Auto Repair Near Me - Elkridge, Maryland

I hired them for a tire replacement on my hybrid car. Two hours later, I received a call from them that tire is done but car will not start. They told me, that they needed to jump start the car, it the battery that is trouble and they need to look into that. I asked them to wait for me to come. When I reached, he came with a jump cable, When I tried to start with a jump battery, it did not start. Instead, the message "Check Hybrid Battery" showed up on dashboard. He played total ignorance to the message and stuck to the narrative that he jumped the car earlier. In my car, 12V battery is in the trunk, you have to open the all the lining etc to reach to battery, he already did that. In hybrid cars, there is an orange pull switch to disconnect the hybrid battery. Since I know a little about hybrid cars, I noticed that the switch was pulled and was in "OFF" position. I just pushed it in "ON" position, and car started without any trouble and no jump. Bottomline, he intentionally sabotaged the car. How and why a tire change job requires to go thru the trouble of reaching out to the hybrid battery switch which is well hidden. Most of the customers will not know about the hybrid switch, he can easily charge hundreds of dollars to an unsuspecting customer. Better avoid this place. read more

I've been a customer for years and recently needed new tires. I moved back from California last summer and do a lot of driving for work so I stopped in last week before Thanksgiving to see what they had in stock. The guys at the shop are always helpful, honest, and they usually get you in and out in a timely fashion. Discounts for firemen and police with badge, which is always nice. Took my car up to Albright Service Center because my motor had seized up and caught on fire. So after ordering a used motor the technician had failed to inspect the entire thing before putting it in the the vehicle so not only did I get charged for putting the new motor in but also got an additional charge for taking it back out. A few days later I ended up going up to the dealership because the motor Albright put in didn't last, ended up getting all the recalls done and was able to get a brand new motor because of some problems wrong with it. The dealership had advised me that Albright and the Technician did not do the correct procedure when unhooked my fuel line, which ended up creating a leak and the intake manifold was broken. I have never been as disappointed in them and the work they do until now. I would NOT suggest getting any work done from them besides a tire change. read more

Stopped by Albright's to get a tire plugged...called early so I was able to get a same day instant appointment. Waited about 90 minutes for the tire fix with one guy ahead of me. The waiting room has a few comfortable chairs, a vending machine and a flat screen (unfortunately I had to sit through a Live with Kelly Ripaa in the morning). They also have a phone charging stand for multiple phones which stood out because even the Nissan dealer that does my oil changes doesn't have one of those. There is a vending machine for snacks. The service was friendly and the price for the plug was only $20 bucks. I'm not sure of if they have any particular specialized mechanics but I think this is a good shop for most repairs/maintenance. read more

I take all of my company trucks here. They are great. We've had them complete several maintenance services, an engine swap, transmission services, pretty much anything mechanical. I take my personal vehicle there too. If you don't want an honest shop, don't go there. If you want honesty from a mechanic and not get ripped off, go to Albright. There are some negative reviews on here slandering their service. Most of those are people who have a personal issue and don't want to hear that there's something wrong with their vehicle when they take it in for service. Let me just say this, if you take your vehicle somewhere for a oil change and the mechanic finds something else that needs to be addressed, the job of the mechanic is to inform the owner of this. Some people just don't want to hear that because they weren't planning on spending anything more than the oil change. But this is why you would take your vehicle to a mechanic rather than do an oil change yourself, because you're NOT a mechanic. They are pros. read more

Took my car in to get a tire replaced with a used one. The replacement had a leak in it but I excused it thinking maybe there's something going on with the rim itself. If there is something wrong with the rim I was not informed. Fast forward a few months later I'm going to rotate my tires to find out every single wheel nut is stripped and torqued WAY over spec. Every socket I own including the tire iron will not fit the nuts anymore making this job next to impossible. I will not be returning and I recommend any readers to not do the same. read more

Abyssmal. Stay AWAY. RUN. Do not walk. This place used to be known as "Commercial Tire" and the previous family owners were wonderful. The current owner will quote you a price, double it, proceed without permission, keep car 3 weeks past when promised, then add another $300 of work at end without permission, quoting the law " I am allowed to add 10% of the bill without your permission" (which this was close to 20% more) This was the worst experience of rip off by a car repair place I have ever seen in 56 years. Was treated with sarcasm, no follow up calls at all to let us know status of the repair, and then when we went to finally get the car, it would not start. This place is really really bad. Do not even think about going here. You will be sorry. We wish we could have seen reviews like this before we went there. read more

Shane can seem standoffish but don't be fooled he's just quiet (Man of few words ) . Larry provides the best customer service ever. I have 3 vehicles , all of which have been serviced by the gents at Albright. I'm a woman who used to make a hobby of working on vehicles in my free time . These guys never lie to me never overcharge me , turn around time is always as quickly as possible ... I'd refer anyone to them . Seriously terrific place . Came here to get new tires and an alignment. The staff is very respectful and friendly. They have a snack machine while your waiting and Tv, comfortable waiting chairs. I on found out that they couldn't complete the alignment correctly because of an accident from 2013. I was told they could fix that problem but I didn't have the funds to do so. So I told them instead of the alignment just put new tires on. So that's what happened. I will be back for the rest of the stuff I needed to get done. I needed brakes and new tires and they took good care of my car for a great price. They let me know that I didn't need front and rear brakes, just rear, (most places would just do both and charge you without telling you!) and I got a great deal on really good tires. When I checked my car in the service was very friendly. When I went to pick up my car however, Shane checked me out and was not very friendly at all. I don't expect people to be gushy or over the top nice, but I do expect basic courtesy. After I paid and said "thank you" I did not get any acknowledgement at all. A simple "you are welcome" or even a "sure, no problem" would suffice. Perhaps he was having a bad day, but at the minimum SOME acknowledgment is necessary. The young man who brought my car around from the shop was much nicer and gave me a cheerful "you are welcome" when I thanked him for bringing the car around. They get five stars from me and I will definitely take my car back for any further service needs and will hope that Shane is having a better day! read more

I was driving down Route 195 at 60 mph this afternoon when it suddenly sounded like I was dragging sheets of plastic under me. I pulled off on Route 1 (Washington Blvd) knowing there were some car places there. I stopped at the first one, Albright. I knew I couldn't keep driving like this, plus, it was my husband's car and I needed to get it fixed before he got home from his out of the country business trip, or else there would be heck to pay! I walked in and described the problem. The guy immediately came out and looked and said he knew exactly what it was and I didn't need that piece of plastic, anyway. Within 10 minutes, he had removed the offending piece. I offered to pay and they said no payment needed. Now I'm reading the other reviews and even though this isn't the closest repair place, I will be using them in the future. Thank you!!! read more

I have been coming to this shop since I was a teenager...been over 20 years. They are fabulous with the tires. The original crew that ran this place before it became Albright (Commercial Tire) are all gone with the exception of one person. After coming here for so long, I would have hoped I wouldn't be treated like a gullible woman who didn't know her car...but alas, I was. I came here recently for 2 new tires and an alignment. Later that day, I heard this clanking noise that sounded like metal on metal. Called the shop and was told to bring it back the following business day. When I returned, they took the car to see what the problem was and came to me with a different issue (needing brakes) then what I went there for (which was to fix the clanking noise). All this to say, it was insulting for them to point out an issue I hadn't gone there for and then when I replied I was already aware of the brakes needing to be replaced but did you fix the clanking noise, they looked at me like "the problem is your brakes". That to me screamed red flag. You want to point out other issues to me about my car, fix the mess you created first. Not having them do the brakes and not returning to them for anything other than tires. read more
