I have been to this center twice now. The first time I just needed an oil change. Today, I got into my car and a service light clicked on, indicating that the coolant was low. I called Fahey and they took me right away, they were able to top off the coolant and they didn't even charge me for the service. I was there for a total of 9 minutes. When does that ever happen??! I was blown away and will absolutely continue to be a customer here. They have a decent seating area where you can wait while your car is being worked on. And the check in process is easy. Just had new wheels, tpm(tire pressure monitor), tires installed. I went from 16-17 inch. Not too familiar with cars so the people at Fahey were very patient and helped answer all of my questions. Spent $1100. on tires for my truck, Drove in with no issues, after fahey installed the tires, I paid and made a follow up appointment since I apparently need brakes. I agreed, and left to find my truck was vibrating and shaking after the installation. Hello Didn't you test drive the truck? How am I supposed to believe you're going to do a thorough job on my brakes when you can't do a thorough install on tires/balancing? A ten star shop. I Had a sensor and my genesis go out. No shop would touch it in my area, and dealerships were scheduling two weeks out. This is definitely a family owned business, and the Family is the most professional , friendly, and amazing people i've ever met. She scheduled my car immediately and they ordered the part promptly. They were notified there was a delay in the part, and it didn't come in to near closing that day. They stayed for a while after closing to receive the part and put it in my car. After calling me they told me they would wait until I got there to pick it up. They did an amazing job repairing my car at a very very reasonable price. They are GREAT.. I would REFER everyone to them - I actually ended up there due to a Flat tire - very close to them and (AAA) highly recommended them. I used them twice since them. I would TRUST them with any issue/quote. I so appreciated their willingness to get me home and scoop me up again back to them. There's no worse feeling when driving to have the tire light go on, especially when on the highway. I did my due diligence and pulled off, stopped at a gas station garage (zero help) and headed 20 minutes home only to find my usual spot for all things car repair is temporarily closed. Doh. I read the reviews for tire places near me and Fahey's had excellent reviews and were in walking distance. I called and spoke to a very nice man who said they could take me right away and explained to come down and park. I was there within a few minutes and he quickly gave me an estimate to replace all four tires. They took the car and I was shocked when the entire job was completed less than two hours later. Now that's service! The price quoted was the actual price (nice surprise there as it seems like most places it ends up always being more) and the work was great. Everyone there was practicing social distancing and everyone had masks on. They even had a shuttle but I didn't really want to do that during this time, and with it so close walking was easy. I went in and paid and was done within five minutes. They even have a really nice free tire rotation for customers that I will definitely take advantage of! All in all, very good work (tires look good), very fast work (much appreciated), great customer service and I came away feeling like I was treated fairly and not taken advantage of with such a good price on the tires. I cannot fathom how this place has so many great reviews. I don't think they should even be in business. I had a flat tire on a Friday, called them, and they said bring it in first thing Saturday morning, leave it with them, and they'd have it ready by noon. So I dragged my small child out of bed at 7am on Saturday, drove over there, left my car with them. They very nicely offered us a free ride home. So far so good. I asked if they'd call me when it was ready. They said yes. We waited and waited. Noticing it was noon and I hadn't heard from them, I called. They were already closed. I left messages. I sent an email to an address I found on their site. Nothing. Finally, I got an Uber, went over there, and found my car sitting in their parking lot, keys still in it, unlocked, unmoved, spare still on and damaged tire right in the trunk where I left it. So basically, my car sat there all day, they promised to have it done by noon and they DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO IT ALL DAY and didn't call me either. They finally bothered to call me back this morning (so, two full days after I left it there!) and basically said "We don't know what happened, sorry." Are you freaking KIDDING me?! This place doesn't care about your car or you personally. They don't even do their job. Go literally anywhere else. read more

I ordered a set of tires from an online rack store and had it delivered to Fahey tire. First time I have ordered a set of tires online. It was a fantastic experience. Fahey called me when my tires showed up, and we booked a next day appointment to get the tires installed. The install price was lower than what they quoted me online so I was pretty stoked. The entire install took only an hour. The waiting room was clean and the service guys were friendly and easy to deal with. I'll keep on coming back it can't be better any where else. Got some work done here recently on a wheel, took almost 3 days....no problem with the covid-19 thing going on. As soon as I picked it up, my steering wheel was vibrating and shaking. This would have been easily discovered with a test drive. After troubleshooting the most obvious area first, I checked the tires. The front 2 tires were almost bare. It seemed odd that a tire place would not check the tires condition while working on it (perhaps get a tire replacement job out of it??). I was told ahead of time that they charge more here because use quality parts and do a good, throughout job. They certainly lived up to that reputation on the price. They charge $100/per hour and the price of the part was over double what it would cost for a quality, non authentic part basically anywhere I looked. Fast forward a week, I bring the car back to get tires that were somehow not noticed to be bare the week before. I requested they save 1 tire, which I indicated several times. They even removed the cost of disposing that 1 tire ($2) off the bill, however when I went to check my trunk, there was no tire. We called them less than 24 hours to inquire and was told it was thrown away.....this tire was basically new as I had replaced it a few months before. The pricing on the tires was fine (again on the higher end of the spectrum) but I was ok with that. After reading some other reviews, I'm going to check the lug nut torque on the wheels to make sure they are correct but overall they did a good job despite a few issues. Scratched my wheels badly! I went here to replace my tires because there are a lot of good reviews. I guess a lot of people don't check their wheels after they are mounted. These guys, when they remove the old wheel weights they use a metal tool to pry it off and it will leave scratches on your wheels. So if any of you guys who have nice or expensive wheels, please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I will probably never go here again. read more

I just brought my car in to have a front end alignment done after the car was involved in an accident. I wanted to be able to safely drive it while waiting for it to be repaired. They took the time to look at it and let me know that they couldnt fix it because i had frame damage and the car wouldnt be safe to drive. They also gave me a name of a good collision shop. There was no charge for any of this. I was very surprised and grateful for their time and help. This will be my new tire shop going forward and I will surely spread the word. Excellent experience start to finish. My daughter goes to College near Boston which is 4 hours away from our home in New Jersey. She called me and said our 2005 Accord wouldn't start. My brother-in -law recommended Fahey and I owe him a beer because using Fahey was great. AAA towed the car to Fehay and they communicated, gave an accurate estimate and delivery as promised. . I got a flat and was suppose to have free flat repair and rotation with purchasing four tires from Fahey's. I was charged $59.00 for rotation and the repair of the flat tire. They said they had to get a mechanic to removed a stuck on lug nut. Well they were the only people that ever tighten the lug nuts. Disappointed in getting billed. read more

Well I must say, my tire issue could not have been more frustrating. I bought new rims and tires from The Tire Rack and had an issue with them to get balanced. Spoke back and forth with Bob regarding some suspension work to be done. After being quoted an amount equivalent to the dealership, I purchased my own parts at about 1/5th of the price they quoted me. Then, I inquired as to whether Fahey would install my parts, to which I received a very pompous and disdainful response from Bob including "I wouldn't be in business if I installed everyone's own parts". "Great" customer service skills there... Makes me want to return and deal with your pleasant, welcoming attitude next time I need tires or other work done. I've always had my tires serviced here and never had any issues outside the length of time they had my car. After such an arrogant response from the owner, I will never come back here. read more

My fiancee and I are "car people", and have four cars between us that all seem to have exceptionally high maintenance wheels and tires. Aftermarket wheels on one, low profiles on three of them, 20+" wheels on two of them, one of them we switch just the tires for the winter, and one of them we switch the wheels and tires for the winter. Long story short- I'm ALWAYS dealing with some wheel issue. Replacing damaged tires, mounting and remounting tires, haywire TPMS systems...etc. I actually feel bad going to Fahey sometimes, because I'm never a big ticket customer but they always help me with my small issues. Today was no exception... I went in with a defective TPMS sensor, and told them flat out it was broken, please replace it. The guy comes back after a little while, and told me it was NOT broken, it just needed to be reprogrammed. Mind you, it wasn't simply my TPMS light on- I know that's easily reset and comes on a lot. My screen actually indicated a malfunction in one specific wheel as if the sensor was busted. The tech probably still had to mount and dismount the tire, figure out which sensor was malfunctioning....so I thoroughly expected a diagnosis fee. I was very surprised when they just reprogrammed it and didn't charge me. The moral of my story is that although this was a really small job for them- it really instills confidence in a customer when a shop has an easy shot at replacing things that the customer thinks are broken, and they voluntarily don't take advantage of them. There's not a lot of shops I could comfortably send my wife or mother too, and know that they'd be met with a straight-shooter who wouldn't upsell them or fix components that don't need it. This is to review two service calls on two 2008 Ford Fusion's in 2014 and 2015. First Fusion was my car, went in for a bizarre noise. Noise turned out to be 4 bad rotors and pads, two bad control arms and three body mounts that were rotted out. Fun! Needless to say a large sum of money later, and my car felt like new once more. Still does. Second Fusion was my wife's and went in for oil, brakes, and a weird pulsating in the brakes when applied in May of 2015. Oil was changed out no issues. Brakes were iffy, the rotors were warped and the pads according the message given to me by my wife "Have plenty of life in them." I ask for the rotors to be turned only to be told If I turn them the are just going to warp again and it is a waste of time." Ok, so I mention the nasty noise and the response was that it will be checked out. Turns out a wheel bearing had bit the dust. That was replaced and the car came home- $231.42 It was going to get 4 stars but the almost brutal honesty in that e-mail was written in a way that I felt could have been better expressed, especially to a paying customer. read more

I've been going here for years now, mainly to buy/swap on snow tires. (I used to live in Lynnfield, and I still drive down from Methuen now.) These guys are always friendly and honest. I've asked them to check on some other items while I'm there and they have never tried to sell me into fixing something that didn't need it. It's easy to email them through their website to make appointments and check on pricing/inventory for you. They've made suggestions for snow tires for me, have always kept in my budget, and I'm very happy with their performance thus far. (I pretty much drive a roller skate and since I've put on snows that Fahey suggested, I haven't had one problem with traction or skidding this winter. And this winter has sucked weather-wise.) They have updated their waiting area...new furniture, free wifi and a tv. Bathrooms are clean. Very comfortable. This is a good honest shop that is worth trying out. read more

My Heat stopped working. Blew cold but temp indicator did not read hot, though it moved. I Read not to fiddle with coolent on CRV's so I brought it to a very reputable dealer near where I was visiting. I was certain it was the thermostat - a $200 fix. They'd done recall work and oil when I bought it a few years ago. They estimated $3k to fix rotted (porous) radiator "crossover tubes" and the leaking "throttle body" because the CRV was assembled in Japan not America - which would have been a cheaper fix. Made in America ones allow for switching out parts, the Japanese does not (my understanding of their explanation). I asked them if they could Mickey-mouse/patch (I may have suggested Bondo.). Nope. So I had it towed to 50 miles to my sister's Highly recommended mechanic. Jim at Fahey successfully Searched for and installed used parts. I'm now joyfully sitting in my CRV watching the defroster clear the windshield, enjoying the heat. Cost? $680. :-) ... 22% of what the dealer estimated! Jim even installed new wipers because I need an inspection sticker - Jim charged half of what I could have bought them for off the web. I suspect the dealer simply did not want to work on a 14 year old, 200k miles vehicle - their right , of course but this is a prime example illustrating why we can never allow these little guys be legislated (lobbied) out of business by elected officials or referendum. read more

Please understand everyone that Fahey's Tire Center gets good reviews because people do not verify the services that were performed so are easily duped into thinking they are good. Fahey's fails miserably in a key parameter that few consumers verify, the lug nut torque. My Kia Optima is spec'd at 69-87 FT-LBS of torque and Fahey's greatly over torqued them to 130-135 FT-LBS. First, this causes your rotors to be bowed which significantly reduces the life of your brake pads and rotors so they know you will be back soon for a brake job that they caused to occur prematurely. This is consumer fraud 101, so easy to get away with and even if caught who would do anything to them. Also, if you are a DIY person who changes a flat, many people are not prepared to remove lug nuts that are on that tight with the standard lug nut wrench that comes standard with your car, especially after they are on for a few years. It is with due diligence for any tire installer to use calibrated torquing devices to torque your lug nuts to the tire manufacturer's specification and it should be state law to require this but our staes fail on this oversight miserably too so Fahey will get away with this indefintely. NTB finally decided this was good business practice and do torqe to spec so at least they do that right. Realize Fahey is typical of tire installers, not a rogue installer and they do the other stuff OK. If you specify you want your lug nuts torqued to your car spec, my guess is they would do it. Or better yet, tell them you own a torque wrench and will do a review of them on-line with the results. read more
