After being told my car would be ready, I was on my way there when they called and said they had mixed up the cars and mine wouldn't be ready until the next day. I asked them to confirm the correct tire would be installed, but was met with attitude. We eventually agreed I could pick it up Wednesday at 7:30 PM after work, and I called again to confirm someone would be there. I rushed to get there at 7:29 PM, only to find a note on the door saying they had gone to the bank. I waited 1 hour and 15 minutes, until 8:45 PM, and no one ever returned. This was now the third consecutive day my schedule had been disrupted for what should have been a very simple fix. What made it worse was later being told he had been there when I had literally been sitting in the parking lot the entire time. Glad it's finally over, but based on this experience, I would not recommend this place. read more

I never write these but I feel a need to warn the community about this Mavis Tire location. I had a flat tire and decided that I was ready to replace the whole set so I bought tires for Mavis to install for me. They did the work but never confirmed the cause of my initial flat tire when asked. Although I thought this was a red flag I let it go. By the time I returned home the same exact tire (now a brand new tire) was flat. Mavis then asked me to bring the vehicle back to diagnose the issue and then tried to explain the issue away as something that "just happens". I was disgusted with this as they sent me home with a tire that was leaking air. Finally, they did repair the work finding that the bead was never cleaned/reset (this is a standard part of a tire install and is actually in Mavis' customer guarantee that they should do this on every install). They tried to charge me $40 for the repair and I had to like negotiate with them as to why I was not going to pay for that. In short, if you care about safety and workmanship at all, I do not recommend this Mavis Tire. The staff here either do not care about their work quality, do not know how to properly install tires, or have no process to check their work to ensure errors like this do not happen. All in all I did not have my car for 3 days, two of which the car was sitting with a flat tire. Mavis offered zero reparations to me, tried to charge me for their mistake, and scuffed all 4 of my rims on their installation. Due to their lack of care and accountability in this process I for one will never return to Mavis for work on any of my vehicles. read more

1000 miles from home. Had a slow leak in my tire on Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Found Mavis Tire nearby. Made a reservation, but came early. Good timing, they took me right away altough many others came after. Very pleasant people. Found the problem, a bad inflation gauge, and replaced it with a regular valve. All in under $30. We had our last set of 4 all weather tires changed by Mavis and they have stood up well to the harsh New England weather in the last 2 years. I recently had a flat tire and went back to Mavis as it was a tire that they carry. They were able to take me in and Justin there went above and beyond to even make sure that my other 3 tires were pumped to the correct air pressure as the new tire that replaced the flat. 5 stars! I came into Mavis on Mass ave for a slow leak in a tire. I last used that location years ago when it was NTB. Mavis fixed the flat by removing the nail and inserting a plug, after first drilling the hole larger with an electric drill. (NTB would have taken the tire off and patched from the inside and a plug). The Mavis repair failed in less than a week. This caused me to have to buy a whole new tire for almost $300. If they can't do an easy tire repair, I would not trust them with anything else. read more

Don't go here if you are a woman! I had a very frustrating experience at this tire shop. I noticed I had a flat tire and thankfully made it to this shop well before closing. I was just looking for my tire to be changed so I could get home safely. When I arrived at this shop, I sat in the office for about 10 minutes before anyone noticed me. Once they finally acknowledged me, they didn't even listen to my issue before saying they couldn't help me. When I showed them my flat tire, they claimed that changing a tire would take at least an hour, which seemed excessive--because everyone I've talked to says it should only take 10 to 15 minutes. Overall, this was a disappointing and unhelpful experience. Will not be returning. I'm very thankful I got home safely. read more

Two years ago I wrote the below review. I gave them another chance because they decided to honor the warranty on the tires. Welp, after this service and the fact that I was told they are no longer honoring the warranty (horrible business practice - you bought the company, you should honor the warranties that people bought), I really am done. Dishonest and now without a warranty, absolutely no reason for me to go back. Took my car in to fix a slow leak on Saturday. The light came back on on Monday. Was told that it was fixed but the reason the light came on was because "the tires were all at different pressure."  BS. 1) Shouldn't they have been put at the correct pressures on Saturday when you serviced the tires? 2) That's not how that notification works. It only comes on when a tire is below a certain percentage of necessary pressure.  Four days  later, the light is on again. THEY NEVER FIXED THE LEAK. ~~~~~~~~~~~ TWO YEARS AGO (2022) I've had issues with this place since they switched from NTB. I would have looked elsewhere, but i bought the extended warranty on my tires the last time I purchased them at NTB. I was told that the warranty would be honored by Mavis, so I was stuck with them. Since the change, I've had problems with the lug nuts being over tightened twice, the tire pressure light not going out after being serviced, long wait times... And now today's experience, which has I lost them a customer. Made an appointment to have a slow leak fixed. Had to reschedule because I was told they wouldn't be able to get to it for lack of employees. Went in for a 1:30 appointment. Was told it wouldn't be done until probably 5 because no one came to work. I needed to get it done, so i left out and took an Uber home. 4:30, I called. Still not touched. Can I leave it? No. That's why I made an appointment. Went to get it at 5. Was told it would be another 2 hours before they could look at it. I just took the keys and left. Why even have an appointment system?!?! 3.5 hours and $ for an Uber wasted - and I *still* need to get the tires fixed. I was also told that the warranty I had bought didn't transfer. Also, no one was wearing a mask either time I went there. I'm done. Off to find a different place to service my tires. read more

I called first thing in the morning to discuss my situation. In times past this was with the store, but it went to a call center, which isn't bad on its own. However, I made an appointment for 1pm. This was for a single tire. Bern sitting for 2 hrs, my vehicle hasn't moved from where I parked it, and it's been 2hrs. Only one other customer here waiting, they dropped off at 8am; currently 3pm I can understand being short handed, but there are at least 3 techs working in the garage. Why have me make an appointment if you can't get to my vehicle for several hours? Still here... SMH. I don't necessarily blame the store here, though it seems odd that one tire takes this long. Serious, expectation setting is key to customer service and satisfaction. If I had been told to make arrangements to drop off and they would call when ready, I would feel very differently about this experience. If you opt to go to a regional out of state call center as a cost saving measure, make sure they are in communication with the store that I am thinking I am talking with. I did speak with the store, they did take $50 off. Like I said, not as upset with the store as I am with corporate. I just heard a guy go up and mention he has a wake to go to at 6... hope he makes it. read more

place is a joke. manager was in a chair asleep. didn't even know he worked there till he woke up and finally answered phone. I had ordered a tire 3 hours earlier & had a rsvp. he try to tell me I put the rsvp in 15min before I showed up but I proved I didn't with an email. they didn't have the name brand tire I ordered and I waited 2.5 hours for it to be replaced. when I left place and drove enough for my psi to register on the dash, the psi on new tire was double what is what supposed to be-and the donut tire was thrown in the back seat instead of put back under the car where it belonged. if I could give 0 stars I would. and I actually have a picture of manager sleeping and wish I could post it! Many of you are trying to find an honest mechanic in a pinch with these reviews, just like I was. I had a brake problem and just moved, so I didn't feel safe driving to my regular mechanic. Kurt was a very approachable gentleman who worked with me and explained the problem and what needed to be done. He was able to cut back the price a bit to accommodate. I know I'm not a car expert but I have pretty good instincts to tell when a mechanic is honest. I can't think of a better way a shop can do business with a customer like they did. Purchased snow tires from this Mavis. Returned in spring to swap out winter for all-season, then returned again to swap back snow tires. I just returned for another swap and the manager claimed I needed to replace my tires because of wear. I was suspect of this diagnosis and went to another shop. There it was confirmed the tires were fine. Hard to believe I attempted to be loyal to this Mavis only to have them attempt to take advantage of me. I don't recommend this shop, and if you do go, buyer beware. read more

I booked an appointment for a rim to be put on my tire (I have both on me) and when I was on the phone booking the appointment I told them I would be waiting for it and never once did they say it would take awhile. I get there today and I walk in and the guy at the counter goes "it'll be a few hours". They had the tire I wanted and did it quickly. However, the 2 things I asked to do did not get done. I asked to install the new tire in the front. Didn't do it. Asked to check all tire pressure and it was delivered wrong. When i brought the car back - just for air - was told I needed to wait until they finished an alignment. Not sure I'll be back. read more

Around 4:30 on a Saturday evening is the worst time to have a flat tire. Not only do most shops close at 5:00, but tires for a Model Y Tesla are hard to find. After calling around 4 or 5 places (none had my tire size) it was suggested by one shop to call Mavis. Called them and they actually had my tire. Even had 4 of them. Told them I was at that point about 15 minutes away (it's now about 4:45) and they said they would wait for me. I pumped up the tire and watched the pressure as I drove there. They were waiting for me as I drove in. Jonathan got the job going and even said they would do a second front tire if I wanted to keep the tread depth the same on both fronts, which I did. He and his team were wonderful. They finished about 20 minutes PAST their closing time. And the price was very reasonable. Definitely recommend them for tire service. read more

Do not buy Cambridge Tires. Very bad tires! I bought 2 Cambridge all-season tires and installed them in the front for the 2009 Honday Accord. I noticed vibration when drove on the highway. A few days later, the car began to pull to the right. I went to Mavis, where I bought the tires and installed them. Mavis tested it and told me that the tire had a manufacturer defect, radial pull. Told me to call the manufacturer for the warranty but I have been searching for Cambridge phone. Cannot find it anywhere. These tires are bad. DO NOT BUY read more

My daughter's car needed work on the breaks. Elest the assistant manager came to the rescue, he was supper helpful and a very good communicator. I like that he was clear on the work that was to be done and the cost upfront and did not try to force any additional work on me. He worked with Cal the service manager who's very talented at what she does. She went out of her way to save one of the calipers. Both are super transparent and very friendly. Unfortunately I had an awful experience here. This place is in my neighborhood and I will never go back. I had an appointment to put new tires scheduled and they gave me an estimate of two hours and it took them six. When I asked for a time estimate at three hours in the manager seemed upset that I asked for a tine estimate. They changed my tires but not my tire valves so the new tires deflated in the next week so I had to have new valves replaced. And, they tried to have me pay a higher price from what I had agreed on online when I booked the appointment. read more
